ELI'S POV

I groaned heavily as I started healing. He actually had gotten me really good and it took a while because this was a fatal blow on my chest area and I could hear as muscles and sinews intertwined alongside cut arteries. Was this guy seriously trying to kill me in front of Miriam?

Wait, Miriam. I had heard her scream earlier but I had an inkling she was safe. No way he would harm his own wife. Perhaps, he had just threatened her and made his way away from her and she might have fainted. But as the last part of my opened chest healed, I caught on with the scent of blood. That was not wolf's blood, it was human. Quickly I rose up and turned to find her lying on the stairs in the pool of her blood. No way in the world would I let her die on me. I rushed over and held her in my arms. She was bloodied as her side was bleeding badly obviously where he had gotten her and so was the back of her head that she had landed on the ground.

"Miriam.... Miriam!!! Don't do this to me. Miriam!!!" I yelled as I tapped her cheeks. She was not responsive and tears welled up in my eyes. This was all my fault. I should have waited for him to step out and not bring the fight to his home.

My selfishness had gotten the best of me yet again and I just might be on my way to pay the ultimate price again. In the past, I had been selfish because I wanted to spend time alone with her and eventually left her in the woods to go play the hero which cost me everything. Now again, I had just made the same mistake. How could I not learn from my mistakes? My heart was in turmoil as I gathered her up in my arms. Embracing her as I cried for her not to leave me.

"Eli?" She muttered and quickly I held her out to look at her. She could not even open her eyes.

"Miriam!!! You're fine. You'll be fine. Please stay with me." I said hastily.

"Eli..." She called weakly in a barely audible voice and I realized that she wanted to speak to me. I reclined closely to her and listened to her.

"I'm with you." I said.

"My kids. He went after them. Get... my... kids." She muttered weakly.

Oh, it was true. But I did not really want to leave her but knowing how persistent she could be, it was best I obliged her. Careful not to leave her with a thud, I raised and carried her down the stairs and raised her into an upright position so she was reclining against the side wall. I reached for the towel and placed it against her side, putting her hand over it.

"You hold onto this and I will check them. Do not go anywhere. I would be back soon" I said to her as I quickly started up the stairs.

"I hope you will keep your promise this time." She muttered under breath. I heard that and I knew just why she said it. This time however, I would not leave her side.

I had just gotten upstairs only to discover the burning flame that was emitting from the room which from the design out the door, I knew was that children's room. There were no screams but I had to assume that the kids were too scared and probably huddled together at a side. I tried to open the door with the knob but was burned really badly that I jerked up. If you must know, we werewolves and fire were not the best of friends. It was like our nemesis and we could not resist the pain it brought us.

I decided that I would not back out now and stepped back as I put all my strength into kicking the door open. I would have charged inside but I realized that the flame was everywhere and really bad as it roared. There was no spot to pass into the room from and then I looked to the end of the corridor where I stood. The window there showed that outside, the house was being engulfed by fire. The crazy bastard had done it again. I know at the moment that there was no hope for the kids. They were probably long gone and I had better get us both out of this place.

I rushed downstairs as I found that the entire house was indeed circled with fire and Miriam had successfully passed out. She was not even pressing her wound and had her hands to her side limply as her head bowed over. I raised her up into my arms as I made for the exit. The door from whence I had come inside (entrance) was a no go area as the porch was on fire and its knob was red from hotness. I also knew there would be people out there to witness the scene and I could not reveal myself to them.

A back door. There had to be one and telling from the design of this house, it would be in the kitchen. The fire had gotten into the living room and things were beginning to cave in. In the searing heat, I dashed into the kitchen area and found that place was beginning to burn as well. The whole house was on fire but we needed to go away. There was only one way the kitchen door would open and it was inwards. I was scared of touching the knob but as the flames and a burning wood fell causing sparks to splash against me on my naked body if you remember, I found the motivation I needed.

Suddenly, I grabbed hold on the knob with my free hand as the other held Miriam firmly over my shoulders and pulled with all my might as I let off a really loud scream accompanied with a growl of pain. The knob broke off instead and the door did not open. The kitchen was now on fire when I kicked the door hard, shattering it as we ran through. Someone had set the house on fire all round.

I got out the back and fell as the pain was intense. Miriam fell off and for a brief moment, I laid there trying to catch my breath when I heard the sirens. Not good, this was not the place to heal and I quickly got up and managed to carry her up as I made a run for the woods behind us. It was really painful but I had to keep running.

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 26

AMELIA'S POVThe banshee...It sounded really funny but it was the best thing that would ever happen to anyone of us. My brother, Ivar and I had spent a good period of our childhood as slaves. Yes, it was the modern world but when it comes down to us werewolves, no time was modern. It was all the same thing. There had to be one pack that would want to covet power and to do so, they start picking on other packs especially the lowest and insignificant ones in bid to irritate the bigger ones. It was worse for such packs if they had refused to surrender to them. Then, they did unleash hell on these smaller packs. It was actually never really easy being from these other packs as we spent our time watching our families get destroyed. Ivar was the son of my uncle, the then Alpha of our pack which meant that he was going to be king. Before him had been six other brothers as his father had two wives. The entire six had been killed but we all covered up the youngest by lying that he was my brot

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 25

REHAB'S POVSeriously, there really was something about fate and wanting to keep Eli and I close. I stared at him now and the first glance at his donkey ears caused me to blurt into a laugh.Of course I knew how to do a reverting spell. I am not one of the oldest witches ever over some naming choice. It actually augmented the fact that I could do everything within the borders of witchery except the dark stuff. I had left that bit to my cursed counterpart but you have to agree with me that it felt really fun teasing the hell out of Eli. He was simply too stubborn and stupid that it excited me with the feeling of butterflies in my stomach.I certainly would not be promising him any peace of mind. And he too had promised Jose, not me the same thing. I might be Jose in disguise but no one knows right? So you keep my secret and I shall endeavor to make your days swell and exciting.I could not understand what it was with him and finding a way of shifting things to me. What exactly did he w

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 24

ELI'S POVDo not attempt to laugh at me right now because I find it really insulting.I could not believe that I was going to spend the entire day with donkey ears. I seriously wanted to kill him and then Miriam had stepped in as she asked him if he was actually being serious about the whole thing. Jose explained that he was not really great at reverting things but he was certain everything would return to normal by sundown. A warlock who does not know how to undo his spells after all the time he had spent under his mentor, was this guy kidding me or did he think I was a joke?I had the strong feeling that he was doing this intentionally just to punish me and the worst was the fact that I could not harm him all thanks to Miriam being here. She was protecting him like he was all that mattered to her and I could swear that I felt really jealous over all of this development. How could he come into our lives and start to interfere? That witch had better come take back her apprentice or I

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 23

MIRIAM'S POVI had been feeling quite hazy after the whole transformation, so when the two Omega's had pledged their loyalty to me, I suddenly slipped into oblivion.I woke up in this shed and the first person I saw was Eli. He smiled at me and I could have sworn that my morning could not have gotten any better with the fact that I was staring directly at him. It felt really nice to watch him stare closely at me and then I looked around me."Jose?" I asked him suddenly.Seriously, I could not understand why I was so fond of the young man."Um... I would go look for him after all of this." Eli said to me."Are you kidding me now? Eli, he's been out there since last night. You should find him." I said as I quickly got up."I swear to you that I would but you need to take things easy with yourself right now, Miriam. You're still..." He began but I was already seating up and stretched out before glaring at him."Anything happens to Jose, and I would kill you." I threatened him even though

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 22

REHAB'S POVI smiled as I knew what was about to happen the minute Miriam had taken off. Being in this form of Jose had been really something to me as I had been rather missing my original beautiful form. I knew from the instant that she had taken off that it was time finally. The banshee was going to create that protective link and it would all begin to make sense to us. The prophecy was finally going to happen and she would be just on her way to fulfilling everything in it. The path she was set onto was the right one and I wandered off steadily. It would be much easier to find them as all I would have to do was a little location spell and I would find myself right wherever they were. I needed a little refreshing from this form and to look upon my own face. I kept wandering as I clouded my scent with magic just in case they decide to want to come and find me. I need no sudden disturbance or interruptions.Steadily, I moved on and on, floating as I did not want to stress myself out.

  • OMEGA'S PROMISE   CHAPTER 21

MIRIAM'S POVThe pain was unsettling as I fell on all fours. I let off a piercing scream as I started feeling all my bones breaking, one at a time.It had started with my spine, angling into an awkward bend with a loud noise as I was being shifted to what would pass for a wolf's spine. I had never felt anything more painful in my entire life and only now did I begin to realize why Eli had been trying to stop me all along from activating the curse.Yes, it was a curse and I could now see that clear enough.Eli came to me but just then, my ribs cracked and I screamed as I glared at him. In this moment of pain, I did not want anyone coming closer or I might lash out at them. My wrist joints went next that I had suddenly rolled over in pain from the impact, screaming as my face and legs began their process. . with each passing moment, I felt the restructuring of my entire bones to fit into the shape of a werewolf. My ears were not left out as they were stretched badly. My teeth became fan
