Lisa was supposed to be the pride of her pack—the perfect heir, the next great alpha. But fate had other plans. "A defective wolf," they called her. "A disgrace." Born with a wolf that refused to shift, Lisa lived under the shadow of her father’s disappointment and her pack’s whispers. But nothing could have prepared her for the betrayal that led to her capture. Now, locked in a dungeon, she’s nothing more than a pawn in Alpha Cole’s twisted game. "You have been chosen as the breeder," the prisoner in the next cell murmurs. "None survived before you." Lisa refuses to accept this fate. She’d rather die than be used. But when the prisoner—Derek, a powerful fallen alpha—offers her a dangerous escape plan, she’s forced to make a choice. "Trust me," Derek says, his red eyes glowing in the dark. "Or stay and find out what happens when they come for you." Lisa doesn’t trust alphas. But if she wants to live, she might have no other choice.

“Hasten up, Lisa, Time is not on our side!” My father’s voice echoed through the hallway, sending chills down my spine as I dressed up. Today is the day, I’ve been waiting for, my mating ceremony day and I would not allow my dad's hasty spirit and thick voice distract me from making up as I desired. "I'm coming dad, just a minute." At least, I felt this response should cool him down abit. My dad is the beta leader of my pack, the Umbra pack. Ever since I was a kid, after my mum's tragic death, I was set to be the bride of another pack when I turned eighteen, and my 18th birthday was four days ago. My fiancee to be is the future leader of his pack, a very strong alpha. Alpha Cole of the Redmoon pack. “Lizzy?” I heard my dad's thick voice call out from behind me as I turned to face him. I tried to hide my panic, but my face betrayed me. “I thought you said just a minute? But it's over a minute now and you are still not ready.” He said as he carefully observed my make up. "Dad! It isn't right to enter a lady's room without knocking." I replied teasingly. "And it isn't right to be late to events, especially an event as glorious as this one." He taunted back. I could only smile and nod to his words, "Alright dad, I'll be done in two minutes, and I mean it this time." "No dear, I'm not blind, I can see you're done, you're just not ready to leave. So come with me now." His tone was serious now. Without another word, I followed him out of the house, and into the car. We drove until we arrived at the venue. Guards greeting us as we passed. My eyes widened in surprise when I saw the large auditorium and the large crowd waiting for us inside. My heart skipped a beat the minute I laid eyes on the man I'm supposed to mate with. Only two of them stood, Cole and his dad, Chief Ned. I couldn’t help but quake when I noticed Alpha Ned was assessing me, checking to see if I was fit for his son. My dad exchanged pleasantries with him, and I used that opportunity to take a quick glance at Cole. Our gaze met and I could tell this dude can't wait to devour me like I was his object of pleasure. “Lisa,” my dad’s voice caught my attention, and immediately I knew what he meant. I needed to climb the altar. I took off my shawl, and the cold air swirled around my body. The velvet dress I wore was so thin that I was almost naked. It was a ritual among werewolves that packs had followed for centuries, baring all our sins for our mates to accept. And it also made it easier for us to shift without destroying our clothes. My long blue hair covered my chest areas, it veiled my nipples from the cold as I walked up the cold steps with bare legs. My betrothed Cole stood up front, waiting for me. His broad chest were marked with white moon markings that stood identical to the ones on my chest and collarbone. “Adorable,” Cole whispered as his brown eyes stared at me. There was silence everywhere, it almost felt like I could hear a pin drop. It was time for Cole to claim me, I sighed,to relieve the pressure I felt in my chest. Suddenly, Cole growled and I felt heat inside me, like my body was on fire. I screamed from the agony as my knees hit the floor. My body felt like it was in flames. as white steam came out of me. Was changing supposed to be this agonizing and painful? What's going on? why wasn’t I changing? I could feel Cole’s strong grip on my hair as he pulled me up to look at him. “You dared defy my orders to change?” Cole muttered. The quiet hall erupted into whispers. “Oh, no, no, this has to be a mistake,” my dad spoke, his tone confused. “You dare bring a useless wolf to us?” Ned yelled, facing my dad. I felt another pain that made Cole take his hands of me. I heard a large gasp escape from the priest and I looked at the reflection from the moon pool at the altar, and what I saw was shocking. My once fully blue hair now had a streak of silver strands, while even my once dark brown eyes were now a bright blue that had me reeling back in shock. And everyone could see it. “You brought a cursed wolf to us? Isn’t this silver hair a trait of the Wildwood clan that is now extinct? What is the meaning of this?” Ned shouted, his hand pointed towards my dad. I looked to my dad for help, but instead, I saw confusion written all over his face. "This could only mean one thing," he stammered, "She's not really my child." Gasps filled the hair, and for a moment, I wanted nothing more than to just disappear. "So you mean, you've raised a bastard child all this while?" Cole asked, his eyes flashing with anger. “Look at me.” Cole yelled, his tone authoritative. I looked up to meet his gaze. He growled again, urging me to bend my head down in fear and respect, but I didn’t. Instinctively, a growl rumbled in my throat, showing my disposition: I would not yield to him. “You really are a bastard, bitch. You refuse to bow to your alpha." He spat. "Forgive me, Alpha Cole and Chief Ned; I didn't know that I wasn't her biological father.” he urged desperately. I could see the embarrassment on his face as he looked at me with so much disdain. "Nothing you say can undo anything, even though the bond has not been completed, the vows have been made, and she belongs to my son, so he can do what he wants with her as he sees fit. She is a cursed, useless child. And you know it is our tradition to kill the weak,” Chief Ned said I looked to my dad to see his face, but he took his gaze from me. “I agree, she's yours to punish as you deem fit." He said coldly. “Dad..please-“I pleaded, but he didn't look at me at all. "I'm not your father, child. Go look for your father elsewhere." He turned and left the auditorium. Hot tears spilled from my eyes as he walked away. “Poor Lisa, first, your mother whored and left you miserable, now, your father has just denied you. it is such a pity that I'll have to kill you,” Cole said, his voice adding to the pains I felt in my heart. He turned to his father, "What do we do with her?" He asked. Ned spat on the floor, stumping his feet on the spot he spat on, "She's to be treated like an animal. Kill her." Cole turned to face me, "Time to join your mother in the grave but first, I, Alpha Cole Hardy of the Redmoon Pack, reject you Lisa Andrew as my mate!”Lisa's POV I clenched my jaw. “I still don't believe a single word you say.”She looked at me for a long time. Then, to my surprise, her expression cracked, just a little.“I cared for you, Lisa,” she said softly. “I still do. That’s why I won’t kill you. But I can’t let you free.”She turned and walked toward the cave entrance.“Wait!” I shouted. “What if you’re wrong? What if your visions are twisted, just like the witch’s?”She paused. But didn’t answer. Then she left me in silence. My wrists throbbed against the cold metal. Every breath felt heavier than the last. I leaned my head back against the stone wall and closed my eyes, willing my tears to stay hidden. Not because I wasn’t in pain, God knows I was, but because I needed to think. To plan. To survive. But there was no plan. No power. Just this crushing weight of betrayal. Again.I lowered my head and whispered Derek’s name, brokenly. “Derek…”I didn’t expect anything. I just needed
Lisa's POVThe first thing I felt was the cold, not the heat from the healer's hut. Sort of made me wonder if she kept me outside to sleep. The cold bit into my skin, crawled down my bones. My head throbbed, heavy and fogged. When I tried to sit up, my eyes still closed and heavy with sleep or should I say weakness, I felt metal clinked around my hands like chains. My eyes widened immediately to see my wrists and ankles were bound with thick iron shackles secured to the stone walls.Panic flooded me, and my heart pounded hard within my chest.I struggled, twisting hard, my strength failing me. My wolf, she was there, I could feel her, but she was quiet, distant, like she was being smothered. What… what happened? What was I doing here? And more importantly, what happened to my strength? This questions swirled in my head.I remembered eating the stew that the healer gave to me and then nothing, I don't remember any other thing. I don't even know how I got here.
Lisa's POVI turned away slowly, my arms trembling under Derek’s weight, heart pounding against my ribs. I was ready to take another painful step back into the unknown when a voice cut through the silence.“Let her pass." It was a woman's voice, an older woman.I paused, then turned to face them, looking up.An older woman stepped into view, her gray hair tied in a thick braid that hung over her shoulder, her eyes sharp and commanding. The men stiffened at the sight of her.“She’s one of them,” the man with the shotgun muttered. “A werewolf. She’ll bring trouble. We're being merciful not to even kill her."My breath caught in my throat. Kill me?The woman narrowed her eyes. “Werewolves pass through this village all the time. We don’t stop them. None of you tries to stop them. But this one, you see her tired, bleeding, and nearly broken, now you want to act brave.”Another villager spoke up. “She’s carrying one of them. An alpha, no less."“And he’s dying,” th
Lisa’s POV The witch raised the blade slowly, savoring my fear. Its surface shimmered unnaturally, dark like obsidian, but humming with something worse- wolfsbane. I knew that smell anywhere. Mixed with silver, it could cut deeper than just flesh. It could kill a wolf’s spirit. I gritted my teeth and prepared for pain, imagining the sword plunging into my chest, into my heart. But it didn’t. Instead, she placed it lightly on my shoulder. At first, I felt nothing. Then, searing agony. It was as if fire licked my skin, burning through layers of muscle, branding itself into my bones. I screamed. My body writhed against the invisible force pinning me down, but I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t even shift. My wolf howled inside me, but it was helpless. The witch leaned in, whispering into my ear with a wicked purr, "Let's see how you can escape. You are marked now, and that makes you my eternal prisoner. You would die in seven days." Then everything went
Lisa's POV My claws were ready, my breath heavy, my muscles tense with the fury of battle. I expected her to rise again, to summon the wind, the lightning, the cursed dead. But instead, the witch, cowered. She scrambled backward on all fours like a frightened animal, her body trembling, her eyes wide with something I didn’t expect from a creature like her, fear.“No,” she whispered, her black eyes darting across my glowing fur. “No, I didn’t know, I didn’t know you were a white wolf.”I growled low, stepping closer, watching as her mouth trembled.“Please,” she said, her voice suddenly small. “I meant no true harm. I was only doing as the old gods demand, feeding them, honoring them.”I tilted my head, not shifting back to human. My wolf wouldn’t let me. She didn’t trust the sudden change in this woman.“I didn’t realize,” the witch stammered again. “You, your kind, you're sacred. White wolves carry the blood of the Old Order. A bite from you, no, two bites
Lisa's POVThe wind felt colder as I stepped out of the hut and into the firelit circle. The heat from the bonfire licked at my skin, but it wasn’t the fire that made me sweat, it was the five men waiting for me.Sleeping with five men? to save one. I don't think Derek would have wanted this, I only came out to buy time, I hadn't decided on what to do yet. Each of the men stood still, eyes blank like puppets, naked and ready. Their bodies were tense, muscles flexed, as if under a spell. Maybe they were, for sure they were, but I wasn't.I hadn't drank that potion, and I wouldn't dare drink it, after seeing what it has done to those who drank it.The witch stood at the center of them, glowing faintly, her snake tattoos writhing across her bare skin. Her eyes found mine like a predator spotting its prey.“Come, child,” she purred. “Time is not your ally.”"You can't expect me to just sleep with five men, when I'm not a prostitute," I said, my voice firm, alth
