Chapter: 24 [ A Big Happy Family ]

The night was a sleepless maze of my conflicting emotions and thoughts. I want to believe Blaze but after a series of betrayals by the people around me, it becomes really difficult. I saw the fear in his green eyes and also felt a twist in my heart for a strange reason.

I wake early than my usual time and descend down to the kitchen to make myself a strong cup of coffee. The headache is killing me. My thoughts again drift to Blaze, he’s still not up and I have my first day of work at Hamilton Corp. and to meet Mr. Herold Hamilton. I’m feeling jitters in the bottom of my stomach.

“Good morning, Angel.” I hear his morning husky voice and his presence behind my back. I again feel the magnetic pull but I must better get a hold of my hormones.

“Morning.” I wish him back in a dry tone. I can’t still fathom the fact that he used to fuck Carla.

“May I have some?” He asks placing an empty mug in front of me, intentionally brushing his arm against me.

“Sure.” I say quietly and pour
