Sienna

The gate loomed before us, even more imposing than I recalled.

Tall iron spires crowned its peak, flanked by fierce guard wolves, giving Blackwood’s compound the appearance of a stark fortress rather than a home. The late afternoon sun gleamed off its cold surfaces, turning it into an intimidating stronghold. As our SUV rolled forward, the gravel crunched beneath the tires, catching the attention of the guards. They straightened up, alert like lookouts the moment they recognized the driver.

Ronan didn’t slow down.

I sat beside him in the front seat, tension coursing through the quiet. Caleb, in the back, was already asleep, clutching his beloved stuffed wolf with an innocence that felt worlds away from the chaos to come.

We hadn’t exchanged words during the drive.

Not for lack of things to say, but because the weight of it all hung thick in the air.

I clutched the hem of my coat tighter, anxiety prickling at my skin.

This place felt like a warning.

  • ONE NIGHT CLAIM   Chapter 25 – A Line Crossed

Sienna’s POVThe estate felt suffocating, its walls closing in tighter than I’d ever experienced before. Not even when Mason’s ominous threat slipped into our territory had it felt like this. Now, a different kind of darkness loomed.Whispers echoed. Watchful eyes lingered just out of sight. And Caleb? He was a restless shadow, sleep a distant memory.“Three nights in a row,” I murmured, brushing his tousled curls back as he sat rigidly on the bed, fixated on a blank wall. “You’ve got shadows under those beautiful eyes, baby.”“I’m okay,” he replied, though the tremor in his voice betrayed him.But I knew what lay beneath the surface—he hadn’t been okay since the mirror, since the chilling words: He said yes.My heart raced as I was still perched on the edge of the bed when a distinct knock echoed. Sharp. Rhythmic. Familiar.I swung the door open to reveal Alexandra, drenched from the relentless downpour, scarf soaked, holding a container and radiating annoyance.“Why does it always

  • ONE NIGHT CLAIM   Chapter 24 – A Knock from the Inside

Ronan’s POV“He saw something,” I declared, pacing the room like a caged animal. “He looked right at it, at that corner. He wasn’t dreaming!”Sienna perched tensely on the edge of Caleb’s bed, her arms cradling him as if he were the last remaining ember in a dying fire. He didn’t cry—he just stared, eyes wide and unblinking, filled with an unsettling awareness.“He said it’s still watching,” she whispered, a chill threading her voice.“I searched,” I said, urgency sharpening my tone. “There’s nothing there.”“You didn’t feel that cold, Ronan? The second we stepped into this room?”“I felt it.”I stalked back to the corner where Caleb had pointed, dread curling in my stomach. No shadow. No movement. But the air—Cold. Stagnant. Ominous.—Caleb stirred, his voice a trembling whisper. “I think it wants to talk to me.”Sienna stiffened, her protective instincts surging. “Absolutely not.”“It hasn’t hurt me. Not really.”“Caleb—”“I think it’s waiting for something.”Sienna knelt before h

(Sienna’s POV –)I told Ronan I was going to rest.He didn’t argue. Instead, he brushed his lips against the top of my head before slipping away to check on the guards. But sleep was the last thing on my mind.As soon as the hallway emptied, I donned my cloak and stealthily made my way toward the east wing — the forgotten part of the estate. It was cold, it was quiet… but tonight, it felt alive. And waiting for me there was Elara. She stood in the crumbling chapel at the corridor's end, her hands aglow with witchlight, not even glancing my way as I entered.“You said you wouldn’t come here alone again,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.“I lied.”“You shouldn’t,” she warned.“I didn’t come for warnings,” I shot back. “I came for answers.”Elara turned to face me, her eyes piercing through the dimness.“You won’t like them,” she replied, a hint of anxiety in her tone.---We settled onto the cracked stone bench, the wind howling like a specter outside, and the estate crea

  • ONE NIGHT CLAIM   Chapter 22 – Quiet Before the Blood

(Sienna’s POV)“Say it again,” I demanded, my voice low and steady, masking the turmoil inside. “I want to hear it from your mouth.”Ronan was leaning against the desk, arms crossed, his wrinkled shirt clinging to him, stained with sweat. He hadn’t shaved in days—maybe two. The exhaustion was written all over him, but his voice held a steady edge.“Elara said… to seal the Gate permanently, the Bridge has to die.”I nodded slowly, the weight of his words crashing over me. “And the Bridge is Caleb.”“Yes.”My hand gripped the edge of the table, my knuckles turning white. “Do you believe her?”“I didn’t say that.”“But you didn’t toss the book at her either,” I shot back.Silence hung thick in the air as he didn’t respond.I turned away, feeling the pain of our situation. “So, this is it. We’re debating whether our son lives or dies based on some prophecy.”“No,” Ronan clarified with a firmness that bit through the tension. “We’re discussing what it takes to ensure he doesn’t become the

(Ronan’s POV)The words were etched with a fierce intensity, not with ink or paint, but with something far more primal—a claw driven deep into flesh. The marks ran deep, carved so profoundly that even the relentless rain could not wash them away. Each letter seemed to pulse with a raw hatred. “The boy is mine!” I gazed fiercely at the scout’s lifeless body, my jaw locked in determination so tightly that my back teeth throbbed with the effort. The air crackled with tension as the weight of my resolve pressed down like a storm ready to unleash. jaw clenched so tight my back teeth ached. His throat had been torn out. My fangs grew sharper.Mason was no longer just a looming threat. He was making his claim.I sensed Sienna’s footsteps approach, silent but urgent.“Do you recognize the scout?” she asked, her

  • ONE NIGHT CLAIM   Chapter 20 – Ash and Skin

Sienna’s POVCaleb was in a deep slumber for three agonizing days. And I stayed right by his side, refusing to budge. That is, until Ronan intervened.“You need rest,” he said, his voice a rough growl, his body tense, like a coiled spring ready to snap. “You’re not helping him like this.”“I’m not leaving him alone.”“You won't have to. He’ll have guards. I’ll sit right here if I have to.” He crouched next to me, his fingers brushing my face. “But, Sienna… you need air.”Damn it, he was right.Reluctantly, I let him guide me out of the room. But not to the guest wing.Instead, he took me to his chambers. The door slammed shut with a massive thud.Silence enveloped us, thick and electric, the walls closing in as tension crackled like a storm brewing on the horizon.I could sense it in him — the tension of self control. His jaw clenched, fists balled tight. His wolf thrashed beneath the surface, screaming for release. Not just from fear. From something far darker.Need.Possession.Guil
