Eleanor's POV

 The way he pushed me into the car seemed like he couldn't wait to devour me.

He pressed onto my body as he panted heavily.

“Don't move!! I will take care of you if you become my girlfriend"

I had a revolting look on my face as I perceived his scent. I was unable to accept his intimacy.

Just when I thought I was helpless, the weight on my body disappeared instantly. I looked up and was shocked to see my savior.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes as he held on to Nick's shirt with one hand.it was so obvious that he was pissed.

“Your one wish was to die, and I will grant it” Sebastian said as he kicked Nick's abdomen so hard, making him fly into the air.

“Ahhhhh” Nick shrieked while curling up on the ground.

Sebastian glared at him angrily. 

Thankfully, he decided to follow me, if not, Nick would have harassed me.

Immediately, his assistant came with some security and they dragged Nick away.

I was still inside Nick's car, as I curled up into a ball. I was still in shock from the incident and could still feel Nick's disgusting touch.

Sebastian came to me and draped his jacket on my body, then he scooped me into his arms.

 I snuggled closer into his arms and he felt pity on me.

“Everything is fine now,” he whispered.

When I heard his voice, I felt peace in my heart.

“Please can you take me home” I asked.

He carried me into his car and drove me to my address.

During the entire journey, I covered myself in the corner of my seat while hugging my arms.

Meanwhile, Sebastian kept observing me. He felt a sense of familiarity while he carried me. It felt like he was holding the woman from years ago.

And I know he has always looked for her.

When he stopped the car, I tried to get down, but he grabbed my hand.

His hand was cold.

“Do get some rest. Don't be scared, no one will ever hurt you anymore” he whispered, and his magnetic voice echoed in my head.

Immediately I remembered the night we spent together years ago.

A cold shiver went down my spine and a blush crept on my face. Not daring to look at him, I flung his hand away and ran away.

A glint flashed through his eyes as he stared at me.

When I entered, the first thing I did was to prepare my kids' bottles.

Fear lingered in my heart.

I never expected Sebastian would come to my rescue. He even dropped me at home, and he also spoke to me gently.

What does that mean?

Until now, I could still remember his hot breath on my skin.

I felt even more uneasy when I remembered the words he said before leaving.

Lost in my thoughts for a while, I decided it would be good to resign.

However, Wendy stopped me the next day at work.

“Eleanor, it is not like I don't want to process your resignation. It's just that I don't have the right.

A few minutes later, Sebastian's assistant came to Wendy's office.

I was unsure why he came, but he had a smile on his face.

“Miss sterling. Mr. Donovan has informed that henceforth you're no longer a receptionist. Please you have to follow me to the HR department to report to work” his assistant said.

“What!! …. I shook my head.

“Did you just say I got promoted?

“Of course. It's Mr. Donovan's order.”

“I'm here to hand over my resignation letter to you. I don't want a promotion”

His assistant was shocked on hearing the that. It was the first time he hears someone disinterested in a promotion in such a prestigious company.

“Miss sterling, I have to remind you that you're in a contract with skyline group. If you want to resign l, you will have to pay a fine ten times your salary. If you accept the promotion, you will get a raise. This is an order from Mr. Donovan, it would be nice if you didn't go against his order” his assistant (Ethan) explained and turned to leave.

I stood confused and kept thinking about what he just said.

The entire day I kept on thinking. I felt unsettled.

When I returned home, I couldn't stop contemplating my next move.

 

I let out a deep sigh after minutes in my thoughts.

"Mummy…

I looked up and saw my kids snuggling into my arms holding their bottles.

“What's wrong? I asked as I reached out to hug them.

“Mummy, did someone hurt you? Mitchell asked.

“I'm a superhero, I can fight him,” Matthew said, swinging his tiny fist.

“I can fight too” Robert said while climbing onto my body and clung to my neck.

“I want to fight too… Victoria muttered.

“Mummy, don't be scared” Mitchell consoled while holding on to my arms.

I smiled as I hugged them.

“Mummy loves you all so much”

Seeing how caring my kids are, I felt love in my heart.

My children give me the courage to go on. 

The more I get scared, the more I expose myself. I just had to continue my daily activities.

As I thought about my kids, I had no choice but to carry on. Besides, I would earn an excellent salary if I accepted the promotion and worked as the secretary.
