Andrew
I returned home to another problem. Celie had let me stay for a few more days before I had been called for business and it seemed that in this short amount of time, something grave happened. I entered my study, initially thankful that I hadn’t bumped into anyone, especially Alexandra. But that gratitude to the unknown lasted mere seconds because as soon as I stepped into my safe haven, I was greeted by Violet and Alexandra. While the younger one looked pale and apprehensive, the older of the two looked livid.
“Well, I...didn’t expect such a warm welcome,” I said dryly as I walked further in. “We didn’t mean to disturb you,” Violet began, but was cut off by Alexandra’s sharp tone. “Believe me, I don’t care where you go, but there’s an urgent situation and it would be better if the man of the house could inform us his whereabout to us from the next time.”
Guess who wrote this diary? ;)
Andrew My suggestion was met with silence and a raging gaze. “I don’t presume this is the time for humour.” Alexandra couldn’t believe this outrageous option could in fact save that girl’s life. When I didn’t answer, her anger turned into horror. “You are serious.” Now that wasn't a question. I nodded and before she could speak, I held her elbow and hurriedly entered my study and closed the door. As I had predicted, my acknowledgement brought back her fury with full force. She wrenched away from me and stepped back, creating a substantial distance between us. “Why? We can save her through my healing power. I brought back her consciousness earlier, didn’t I? And then we will find a way or the source of this forced withdrawal.” I sighed.
Celie “Ah, Andrew, it’s nice to see you again,” he said while I stood frozen at the spot. Andrew’s eyes were trained on me, waiting like a predator waits for its prey to make a mistake. “The feeling isn’t mutual,” he muttered without looking at the other man. “I said how and why is this man here?” he repeated, and this time the edge in his voice made me wince slightly. I swallowed nervously. My gaze darted towards my accomplice, who was busy smirking at Andrew. “He-” I croaked and my accomplice’s gaze flickered to mine, challenging me to divulge the truth. “Yes, Celie, tell me how and why I am here,” he retorted, the taunt obvious in his tone. I was panicking. The last thing I wanted now was to break my act and be forever hated by the person I loved so much. I wouldn’t be able to help Damian either. I opened my mouth to say but my accomplice bea
Myra In the times when I was dangling between conscious and unconscious, I dreamed of him. I saw his face in the haze, beckoning me to come to him. My mind conjures up scenarios where he is there with me. I have no strength to hate anyone anymore. Every energy has been sapped out of me. Sometimes when no one is there in my room, I open my eyes which takes immense strength, everything hurts and the only thing I can do is cry. Silent tears roll down my cheeks because weeping and sobbing isn’t an option anymore. I bet he is doing good. Maybe he has moved on to someone new. He didn’t care then, why would he care now. But in my mind, we are happy. I see myself living in peace and happiness, something which I did not get in reality. I heard Andrew and Alexandra discuss my condition in my pr
Eric The dilapidated house reeked of blood stench and it didn’t take a genius to guess what might have taken place here. Connor’s appearance from one of the salvaged rooms didn’t leave much to not guess either. “This isn’t a hunting ground,” I gritted through clenched teeth. Despite his ‘help’, I didn’t really warm up to this nocturnal creature. I knew better than to become friends with this Kind. Connor shrugged, brushing off some dust from the left cuff of his grey coat. “What am I supposed to do? I was thirsty.” He smiled, showing his teeth where the blood of whatever he had hunted was still visible. I shot him a pointed look. I didn’t have the desire nor the time to reprimand him or argue with him. “You must have come looking for me because you have something to tell me, don
DamianI tried very hard to concentrate on the task at hand. The car ride was anything but pleasant. A four-seater occupied by a wizard, and two elite vampires and I. The Elites spoke non-stop about palace politics and whatnot and tried to include me in their conversation, but I refrained from joining. The wizard guy, however, was tolerable, and it was a blessing to get the passenger seat.“Shouldn’t the Queen abdicate her throne?” one of them, probably Bryce, raised the question. I leaned back in the seat and trained my gaze out of the window. “Hey, why would you even think that?” the other Elite, Griffin, I think his name was, snapped. I didn’t comment and neither did the wizard guy whose name I had already forgotten. My thoughts wandered back to Celie’s texts. What on earth did she want to tell me? The jo
Myra “The weather is good today, shall we go out somewhere?” Vi suggested, sounding far too enthusiastic and pretending to be more than that. I let the cold ice of the popsicle melt into my mouth, the orangish taste leaving a sugary and tangy aftertaste, while the warm summer breeze left drops of sweat on the nape of my neck and folds of my skin. “It’s almost afternoon. Where do you want to go?” I took another bit from the popsicle. The rapidly melting ice trickled down my thumb, leaving a sticky mess in its wake. Vi pondered for a while. “Let’s visit the nearby convenience store.” I scoffed. “That’s a place to visit?” Vi made a noise at the back of her throat. She stood up suddenly making the stagnant swing sway. I listed sideways and immediately uncrossed my legs and [planned
Myra “What? He kicked out Eric?” I couldn’t believe my ears. When I walked into the training area, I caught the tail end of the conversation about Eric and Jamie shaking his head. “I didn’t realise he would take such a bad turn.” And when I asked who, they stalled for a while before Vi divulged everything in one breath. “But…why?” I was flabbergasted. Andrew didn’t seem like someone to kick someone out. Vi gave a sidelong glance towards Jamie, whose nervous gaze darted towards Brandon, who didn’t even look at me, but somewhere above my head. “We don’t know,” Jamie said all too quickly. I frowned. They won’t tell me the reason and I knew that they were fully aware of the situation. I turned around and left, deciding to go straight to Andrew. He was, unfortunately, not in the study and that woman who roamed ar
MyraIt was refreshing to watch the treeline become smaller and smaller as we approached the town. “Roll down the glass, breathe in some fresh air,” Jamie said, looking at me through the rearview mirror. I complied. The air was truly refreshing, not hot or painstakingly cold, just gentle on the skin. It carried a mixture of scents - mud, dirt, dried leaves and a faint smell of baked goods.“Put on some music,” Vi suggested from beside me, opening a bag of chips. She offered me, which I generously accepted. “Hey, give us some too.” Jamie pouted. “I packed some in your bag,” Brandon murmured. Jamie 'aww’d at that and smacked a loud kiss on his mate’s cheek. I was amused at how Brandon’s ears turned red. The man was a buff guy, scary to those who may not know him, but one fond look or a
