Maddox’s POV

I fall asleep with my knot still locked deep inside her. Veyra is warm in my arms, her skin soft against mine, her breath slow and steady. The scent of us lingers thick in the air, clinging to the sheets, to my skin, to every corner of the room. But even as sleep takes me, her name isn't the last thing I hear.

It’s Lyra’s voice that whispers in my head.

She calls me weak, accuses me of giving in, tells me I was never strong enough to resist. Her words are cold and sharp, echoing in the back of my mind, reminding me of the promise she made. I should have listened. I should have let her go. I could have spared myself this constant hunger, this fight to keep something that was never meant to be mine alone.

But I can’t now. It’s too late. My mind won’t let go of her, not after last night. Not after everything.

A knock breaks through the fog of sleep, dragging me out of the warmth. I peel myself away from her, careful not to wake her, even though every part of me wants to stay

  • Rejected And Disowned Now Claimed By Four Ruthless Alphas   Hunted

Veyra POVMy breath catches sharply as a sudden, low growl rips through the silence around me, echoing off the empty landscape. Fear slices through my chest, sharp and unforgiving, sending adrenaline surging painfully through my veins. Slowly, I turn my head, dread coiling in my gut when my eyes land on the rogue wolf charging toward me at terrifying speed, teeth bared and eyes wild with an unmistakable ferocity. My heart pounds violently in my chest as panic overtakes me, and I spin on my heels, gripping the thin, tattered sheet tighter around my body as I break into a desperate run. Each stride feels shaky and uneven, my exhausted muscles screaming in protest as I force them to carry me forward. Dust kicks up around my feet, choking me with its gritty dryness, but I refuse to slow down, too terrified to glance back, though I can hear the wolf’s harsh breathing, feel the menace radiating off it like heat waves.Another snarl splits the air from my right, and my gaze snaps sideways in

  • Rejected And Disowned Now Claimed By Four Ruthless Alphas   Lost

Veyra POVWhen I'm finally dragged from sleep, it is not the dull ache in my muscles or the heaviness in my limbs that alarms me; it is the blazing sunlight slicing across my face, sharp enough to burn through my closed eyelids. My breath catches in a panicked gasp, and my eyes snap open to find the wide, endless stretch of the sky above me, cruel and indifferent as it gazes down, showing me clearly that I am no longer safe, no longer where I should be.My heart thuds painfully against my ribs as I scramble upright, my pulse roaring in my ears with sudden fear. The earth beneath me is cracked and dry, broken by heat and neglect, rough against my bare skin. I glance down in confusion to see that I'm covered only by a ragged sheet, a fabric so thin and tattered it hardly offers any real coverage or warmth. Its presence only adds to my confusion, making the reality around me seem more like some terrible, surreal nightmare.I rise carefully to my feet, my legs trembling and weak as though

  • Rejected And Disowned Now Claimed By Four Ruthless Alphas   Truth

Maddox’s POVI don’t know how long I lie there. My chest rises in shallow, uneven breaths, each one dragging more pain through my side. Blood soaks the stone beneath me, warm at first, now cooling. The world is hazy around the edges, a blur of flickering light, growls still echoing in the corners of my hearing. Their feet move around me, pacing, shifting, but none of them come close. Not yet. They’re waiting for me to get up, or maybe they’re waiting for me to stay down.I’m not sure which would be worse.Eventually, someone shifts back. The air snaps and crackles with the shift, bones rearranging, skin reforming. The scent of blood sharpens. Dagen steps into my view, his chest bare and streaked with sweat and dirt and my blood. His clothes are ripped. His voice is calm now, which is somehow worse than the snarling. “Get up.”I try. I don’t want to, but some bitter instinct in me refuses to stay broken before them. My arm shakes as I push against the ground, and I manage to get one kn

Maddox’s POVThe silence after Rael’s threat sits thick and suffocating in the room. I can still taste blood at the back of my mouth, but it isn’t from the blow Dagen dealt me. It’s from the truth I let out. And it’s not even the full of it.Dagen paces like a caged animal, his hands shaking at his sides, eyes still dark with rage. I see the way his jaw flexes, the twitch in his fingers, the struggle to stay in control. But the edge is crumbling.I open my mouth, because if I don’t say it now, I’ll never get another chance. “You want to know why this happened?” My voice is hoarse, but steady. “It happened because you couldn’t stop dragging her into our world in the first place.”Dagen freezes. Slowly, his head turns toward me, and the expression on his face is something barely human.“If you hadn’t promised Lyra that Veyra would be gone by round one,” I grow, “none of this would’ve happened.”He glares at me. “Don't be a fucking fool.”I stalk toward him, my entire body shaking. “This

  • Rejected And Disowned Now Claimed By Four Ruthless Alphas   Change Of Plan

Maddox's POVThe moon is gone, and we've all knotted her at least once. The Silvermoon ritual is brutal. I lift Verya into my arms and carry her, Rael, Vane and Dagen follow me inside. "I'll keep her with me," I say. "What?" Dagen looks at me shocked. "You hate her," he snaps. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. "Not anymore," I say as I step into her room. "If you hurt her," Dagen growls. "She will be safe, I'm not leaving her." He watches me for a moment then walks off. Walking into the bathroom, I turn on the shower and lift her against me. She looks at me, but stays quiet and doesn't speak. Stepping into the shower, I hold her against me, and she rests her head on my shoulder. "This isn't me accepting you," I say quietly. "I think you're too late to say that," she murmurs against my neck, and maybe she's right about that? She feels so light in my arms, so warm and for some reason, she feels like home. Like someone I could trust. She knows the past, she knows what made me ruthle
