Chapter 8

Elion Moore.

She clung to me.

Her pale slender hands fastened against the muscles of my waist, binding me to herself like shackles.

I swear if she could, she would have anchored herself to me.

My body was still like a block of ice that had been thrown over it. Rooting me in place. Sending shivers down my spine. Causing my heart to thump hard and fast– like it was about to jump off my chest.

It was my intention to walk away after tucking her to sleep. I didn't know she was awake. I didn't expect such a bold and aggressive move.
