By the next morning, I was already out of the hospital.

Kael had wanted me to stay for another day, but I refused. I was tired of lying in that bed while everyone kept watching me like I was about to collapse again.

My body still felt strange. There was a faint warmth moving beneath my skin, and sometimes I could feel my healing power shifting inside my core without me doing anything.

But I was standing, and that was enough for me.
