Chapter Thirty Eight

Paige

I walked up to the twins before hugging both of them.

"What's wrong?" Luciano asked in concern. So I sucked in a deep breath before looking up at them.

"I had a miscarriage." I said softly before looking back down to my feet.

"Are you okay?" Dario asked so I shook my head and he pulled me into a tight hug.

"You were pregnant?" Luciano asked and I nodded.

"I didn't know." I said and he stepped back from me.

"Of course you didn't." He said before leaving the hospital. Rio held me back by my wrist as I wanted to go after Luciano.

I noticed that Dario's jaw was clenched and so was his fists. He couldn't even look at me, but he hid his anger very well.

"Let's go." He said blankly so I walked outside with him. I distanced myself from him by placing my hands into my pockets. I decided not to look at him.

Looking at him is like looking at Luciano. They're never going to trust or believe me again.

Rio helped me into his car so I thanked him before looking out of the window.
