Chapter 9 Max was Zaydeb's son

“I don’t plan to get married for the time being,” After thinking for a while, Zayden answered coldly.

Hearing his answer, the hope that Jessica had just gathered died down. She then said, “It’s getting late. I should leave now.”

Later. Jessica walked out of the villa and entered a car unhappily. As soon as she fastened her seat belt, Jessica ordered, “Drive.”

After the car left the high-end villa complex, the driver said, “Miss everything went as planned until the hotel manager ruined it.”

“It’s okay.” Jessica put on a sinister smile and said, “It would be worse if the boy was killed. It’s better this way. Zayden would be more worried and take marrying me more seriously in this way.”

“Then the kid…”

“Don’t do anything to him for now. There will be other opportunities,” Jessica said dismissively as she was looking at her newly manicured nails. Then she ordered, “Tell Henry that I will go visit Max these days. Prepare some things that kids like more.”

“Yes, Miss.”

In the hospital.

Alice was awakened by the intense pain in her arm when she moved her arm.

“Mommy, you are awake!” Eliana held her uninjured arm with her eyes reddened, exclaiming, “Mommy, you scared me to death!”

Alice then paused and recalled that she was injured after saving Max. Afterward, she was taken to the hospital. But she didn’t know how come her daughter was there.

“Elly, how did you get here? Did I fall asleep for a long time?”

“You tell me.”

Wiping her tears, Eliana said a bit sobbingly, “I called you earlier but your assistant answered it. She said that you were at the hospital I was so worried! So I asked her to pick me up from kindergarten and drive me to the hospital to see you.”

Hearing Eliana’s words, Alice felt both warm and guilty. She apologized, “I am sorry, baby, Mommy made you worried. Please forgive Mommy.”

“You taught me to take care of myself before taking care of others. What if you were hit in your head?” Eliana pouted, “I am still depending on you to raise me. If you die, my life will be miserable.”

Alice was amused by her words and resorted, “So, is that what you are worried about, right?”

“Of course!” Eliana folded her arms in front of her chest and said, “Where else you can find a cute and smart daughter like me? Who can even do housework?”

“Okay, okay, you are my precious girl.” Alice smiled. Then someone knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Alice looked at the door and replied.

“Miss Brown,” A middle-aged man entered with two large bags of health supplements. It was the butler who took care of Max.

“My master ordered me to bring you these health supplements. You have a fracture and these supplements are good for your bone recovery. Also, my master sends his gratitude. He sent Max home so he could not wait for you to wake up. Please accept his apologies.”

“It’s all right. It’s my duty.” Alice said. She looked at the bags and saw that there were lots of expensive health products that amounted to thousands of dollars.

“These are just small tokens of appreciation. Master also said that since you are injured, you don’t need to go to work until you have fully recovered. You will still be paid during this time.”

Hearing that, Alice thought in surprise, “I don’t need to work. Who is your master? How did he manage to arrange for my sick leave?

How come that man was so influential to arrange for her sick leave? According to the hotel’s regulations, sick leave cannot be more than one month and she had not even been confirmed to her job.

With many questions in her head, Alice asked, “Could you tell me who your master is?”

“Don’t you know who my master is?” The butler asked in surprise.

Alice was suddenly puzzled by his reaction and asked, “Should I?”

“Our master is Mr.Collins, the CEO of the Dream High Group,” the butler replied.

Alice frowned on hearing this, “So, Max is Zayden’s… em… Mr. Collins’s son?”

“Yes. Since you saved his son, Mr. Collins decided to give you some days off as part of the compensation. Do let me know if you need anything.”

What? Max is Zayden’s son? Alice was stunned. She pondered about how wealthy Zayden was yet his son was mute. At the thought, Alice began to feel sorry for Zayden.

On one side, Alice was feeling sorry for Zayden, Eliana had a completely different idea. Resting her chin in her palms, Eliana looked at the valuable gifts. She thought, “Mommy’s boss must be very rich and powerful. Will he be a good choice for mommy? Oh, what is his name? Is it Zayden? I had better look into Mommy’s boss when I get home.

In the following days, Alice had been staying in the hospital. Meanwhile, Zayden never visited Alice during her stay. He seemed to be occupied with his work. And Alice didn’t mind it all as she feel more comfortable healing on her own.

After her discharge, Alice realized she could have a few more days off. As she always wanted to spend more time with Eliana but didn’t have a chance to do so, Alice decide to spend the rest of the sick leave with Eliana.

Alice was in a better mood, and she felt that Zayden was not as cold and aloof as he looked to be.

In the afternoon, Alice was having a nap when Eliana went to her room with iPad. She used Siri to search for the name, “Zayden.”

Immediately several results popped up on the screen, and Eliana chose the most handsome man. She used the reading function and gasped when she heard his accomplishments.

Wow, Mommy’s boss is so handsome! And he is so wealthy and powerful! Yes! He is the best choice for the mommy! Eliana thought in her heart.

Hang on! Why do I feel like I have met this man somewhere before? But where did I encounter him?

Right! The Airport! I met him at the airport earlier. And he also gave me a box of chocolate! He looks like a nice guy! Eliana then looked at the dating app and then looked at the photo of Zayden...

"So, Zyden is looking for a partner..."

“Mommy! I am going out!” After packing Eliana said to Alice and walked to the door.

“Where are you going?” Alice was sleepy as she looked at her daughter and asked.

“Oh, I am going out to the coffee shop you usually take me to. I want to get some ice cream.”

“Okay be careful and also buy one for me.” Alice said as she was very sleepy.

Anyway, they went there many times, and it was safe to go there, so she didn't think too much.

Eliana then walked out of the door happily. She wanted to find the super handsome Mr. Zayden and asked him if he want to be her daddy.
