Vera's POV

"What?" He asked, looking at me like I was a nuisance with one eyebrow raised.

I took quick steps and went to open the passenger’s door beside the driver and made myself comfortable without a word. He slid into the car and started the ignition without another word.

"That was so unnecessary." He said in a cool voice as he had driven outside the estate with his eyes fixed ahead on the road.

I shrugged my shoulder in an "it is what it is" way and said, "I didn't want you to leave me behind like you almost did yesterday."

He didn't say anything, he just continued driving, one hand on the steering wheel while the other rested on his lap with his fingers tapping to whatever rhythm played through his airpods.

The rest of the ride was silent. I watched the buildings blur past the window and I couldn't help stealing glances from time to time at his jaw, his fingers, anything to keep my mind off how close he'd held me that morning from time to time. He didn't even look at me once.

The rest of the ride was silent, until he stopped

He finally stopped at a gas station that at one gas station that looked like people don't come to, this place was close to school and was hidden enough.

"Like we agreed. You walk to school from here." He said, turning to look at me.

I took a deep breath and said, "Why don't you just tell your dad about this? He might provide me with a driver."

"We had a deal, Vera. So stick to it." His voice sounded firm.

“What if I told you that I don't remember the route anymore.”

“Argh! Vera, we both know that you do remember. So get going.”

"Yeah, yeah. I get it, I'm going already."

I pushed the door handle and came down from the car with a bang as I shut the door, harder than I needed to. I stared at him through the window with slight displeasure sitting on my face then turned and started walking. Thankfully, the school wasn't far from here.

I'd walked quite a distance when his car zoomed past me causing a little dust to rise in the air.

"Ohh great, what a great deal." A sarcastic smile lit up my face.

***

I walked into the big grand gate of the school. Luxurious cars entered the school, some students came down from their cars and walked around like they owned the place while others just went about their business.

I looked toward the spot where Liam had parked yesterday and found his red Mercedes already sitting there, gleaming under the morning sun.

Just as I turned to walk into the school building, I spotted him. Liam was talking to Sarah, his eyes flicking to me even as he stood there, watching me watch him.

Sarah raised her hand and wiped something off his shirt I obviously knew nothing was on, anger rushed through my veins. My chest heaved with that small action and questions rushed through my head.

‘Is she trying to stake her claim?’

‘Or are they back together?’

Liam noticed my body language, his eyes were obviously telling me to go to my class and not do anything stupid but I didn't care. I had taken two steps attempting to walk towards where those two stood until I felt a hold on my shoulder and then I heard my name being called.

"Vera."

My head turned to look at the source of the voice. It was Andrea again.

“What's it?” I asked in an unpleasant tone with slight fire still burning in my eyes.

"I just wanted to talk." His voice was quieter than usual.

"What do you want to say to me, Andrea? I don't want to hear it." I crossed my arms.

I knew I was being harsh. Some of it was anger, the way he'd left me with no real reason and some of it was jealousy watching Liam stand so close to his ex.

Jealousy? Was I actually jealous?

"I'm sorry, Vera. I just want to apologize. Talk things out." He took a small step closer with hands his hands in his pockets.

My head snapped back toward where Liam had been standing, but he was gone. I saw Sarah stomp off angrily with her friends behind her.

"I saw you looking at Liam earlier." Andrea's eyes searched my face. "Is there something going on between you two?"

My head whipped back to him.

"I don't owe you an answer." I turned to walk away.

"I saw you look at him," he said, "the way you used to look at me."

I spun back around, eyes blazing. "Shut ur damn mouth up and don't talk to me, you heartbreaker."

My voice came out hostile than I meant. I watched his face twist into something remorseful before I turned on my heel and walked away without looking back.

I walked into the hallway of the school building, a fowl look sitting on my face. Day two at Hayworth Academy, and already my whole day felt messed up.

"She walked to school today. She definitely isn't anything special to Liam."

A girl leaning against the wall said it to the girl beside her, just loud enough for me to hear as I passed, close to my classroom.

I stopped and looked at her, a scornful look on my face. I didn't need to say anything for them to scram as the look on my face said everything.

I took a deep breath before entering into my classroom.

As I walked into the classroom, the bell rang and in came a teacher. I couldn't be more than happy as I didn't want to hear any more whispers or gossip that will spoil my day further.

Ding!

Lunch bell rang. I quickly took out the plate of snacks from my bag and started munching on them fast while I took my phone out to text Liam.

[Meet me at the library in 5 minutes to keep my mouth shut.]

I had asked Ana to pack me snacks for lunch because I was going to spend lunch time with Liam in the library.

After eating enough as quick as I could, I grabbed my phone and stood up to leave but then my eyes moved to Andrea’s seat. He hadn't attended all the classes we had. I shouldn't care but I couldn't help but worry if he was okay.

I walked out of the classroom, walking down the hallway to take the stairs up to the library. Heat building from excitement rushed through my body as I took slow steps up the stairs.

I reached the front of the library, slightly breathless. I scanned the entrance but there was no Liam in sight. I was about to type a message, thumb hovering over the screen, when my phone chimed first.

I opened it.

[Come into the library, left wing.]

  • One Night With My Stepbrother    Chapter 24 - What Do You Mean You Need Your Phone

Liam's POV My eyes, that had been resting on her boobs, snapped up to her face. I cleared my throat and fought the urge to blink first. "Cut the crap. I entered your room because I knocked repeatedly and you didn't answer the door." A scoff crossed her face as her eyes moved from me to look at the door of her room. She moved from where she stood and walked slowly to where her uniform laid on the floor. She bent down slowly, too slow to be an accident. Her legs parted wider than they needed to, and I couldn't look away even if I wanted to. Her pussy was on full display, glistening, right there for me to see. My dick jumped hard against my jeans. I gripped the doorframe beside me, my knuckles turning white. "You're doing that on purpose." My voice came out rougher than I meant it to. She stood up with her uniform in her hand, then glanced up at me through her lashes, a small satisfied smile playing on her lips as her eyes fell to look at the bulge on my jeans. She didn't answ

  • One Night With My Stepbrother    Chapter 23 - Like What You See?

Vera's POV"Mum, you're home." I walked to meet her, my wet shoes squeaking against the floor."I'm glad you're home." Her eyes moved over my face, worried, then dropped to my hand before lifting to Liam. "The rain kept getting heavier. You two hadn't arrived, and I was starting to worry.""Sorry, Mum. Liam had football practice." "Ohh, I didn't know you play football." She turned to look at him properly."I do." He said it simply, just those two words."You both should go change." She turned back to me, her hand brushing gently over my sleeve. "Your uniform is stained, Vera. Go shower before you catch a cold.""I'm going to my room, Mum."I turned and walked up the stairs slowly, careful to keep my weight off my injured knee so she wouldn't notice the small limp in my step. Behind me, I heard Liam's footsteps following. He reached his door first. I watched him from the corner of my eye as he turned the handle and pushed it open. For one second, his eyes met mine quickly before he st

  • One Night With My Stepbrother    Chapter 22 - I Don't Need You Falling

Vera's POVIt was a male voice.Footsteps echoed through the quiet hallway, getting louder as the person walked toward us. The beam of light moved away from our faces and went back to the floor. As the figure stepped closer, the bulb above us cast light on the person's face, and I saw the familiar face behind it. Mr. Brooks stood in front of us, his glasses resting neatly on his nose and a torch hanging loose in one hand. His brows pulled together."Liam... Vera?" His eyes moved between us. "What are you both still doing in school at this time?"Liam slowly loosened his arms around me and set me back on my feet. The moment his warmth left me, the cold air felt sharper against my skin."I had practice, Mr. Brooks," Liam said calmly, his voice steady. He glanced at me, then looked back at Mr. Brooks. "She got injured while waiting for me, so I'm taking her home."Mr. Brooks stayed quiet for a moment, his eyes dropping to my knee. "Have you treated the wound?"I quickly nodded my head.

  • One Night With My Stepbrother    Chapter 21 - Cleaning My Injury

Vera's POV"What if I keep staring?"My voice came out lower than I meant it to."Then keep staring." He said it plainly, like the conversation was already finished for him, and turned back to his locker.I reached out and held his bare shoulder. He went still immediately. I felt the muscles in his back pulled tight under my fingers. I let a small smile knowing I got his attention. I let my finger move slowly, tracing from the curve of his shoulder bone across to his chest, lightly touching his right nipple, then trailing down the centre of his abs, one ridge at a time.I held his gaze the whole time."What if I touch you."It wasn't really a question because my fingers are already on him.His palm wrapped around my wrist fast. His grip was firm, not rough, but there was nothing gentle about the warning sitting inside it."Stop…" His voice came out strained. "...touching me."His fingers pressed just a little harder around my wrist. And I still took a step forward. My other hand move

  • One Night With My Stepbrother    Chapter 20 - Wet, Warm, and Too Close

Vera's POV"What do you mean? I have been waiting for you for hours now.""I thought your mum would have picked you up." He said it simply as his eyes moved away from my face.I stared at the side of his face. The rain had already soaked through my uniform. Cold water had pressed through the fabric and hugged my body like a second skin. My hair was stuck in wet strips against my cheeks. The mud at the edge of the field had already started turning the toes of my shoes dark. And he was standing here talking about my mum picking me up."Because she dropped me at school this morning?" My voice caught a little at the end. "You should know she will be busy at this time."I stepped forward and reached for his hand. His fingers were cold and wet under mine. His body turned stiff like he didn't want to be touched right now."Leave the rain. Let's go."He didn't move."Go wait for me." He said in a flat tone. Just those four words sitting there like they were supposed to be enough.I looked up

Vera's POV"What are you two still doing in the changing room?"I turned my head toward the voice.Sarah stood at the doorway with her arms crossed over her chest, one eyebrow raised as she looked at us."Changing?" I answered plainly, looking at her like she'd just asked the most obvious question in the world.Behind me, I heard Queen let out a nervous laugh."Sorry, Sarah. We'll get going."My head snapped toward Queen with a confused frown on my face.‘What is wrong with you, girl?’Queen hurried over and grabbed my wrist."Come on," she said, trying to pull me gently toward the door.I didn't move.Instead, I stayed exactly where I was and finished pulling the leggings properly over my waist.Without rushing, I reached for the buttons on my school shirt and slowly undid them, one by one.The shirt fell open with my tits on display as I didn't wear a bra.Sarah's eyes stayed locked on me the whole time.A small, cold smile slowly crept across her lips. She pushed herself off the do

Vera's POV His head snapped toward me just for a second. Then he looked back at the road. He held the steering wheel so tight I was sure the poor thing might break. "I just asked you a question."
