Corey's POV

I froze when I heard someone call him. It sounded weird and I wondered why someone would address him as an Alpha.

My eyes darted to Kai whose face was as stoic as ever. I couldn't tell what he was thinking as his expression remained unreadable, though his eyes showed glints of surprise.

"What are you doing here, Callan?" He addressed the man who looked huge and strikingly handsome with a gruff voice.

"I normally come here to have my morning coffee and I don't think you frequent here often." He replied.

"No… I don't. Can we talk later? I have some matters to attend to. Let's go, Corey." He said to me while I bowed in greeting to his friend and walked behind Kai.

Since I came with my car, there was no need for him to take me home but I still wanted to know why he addressed him as an Alpha as I couldn't shake off the feeling that it was a narcissistic behaviour of his.

"Thank you for treating me to a nice cup of coffee. I enjoyed it," I began.
