Blair was introduced to the Cartiers while preparing for her wedding. Calvin's mom Joanne was a wonderful lady in her sixties. She had big green eyes, tanned skin and greying hair. Very sweet and well spoken.
Rachel, Emma and Maya, wives of the three sons of family, Denver, Elvis and James respectively. Jackie, his fierce and outspoken sister, whom Blair found to be a little intimidating at first and her wife Venessa, the last daughter in law of the family and a well known movie producer.
She got a chance to meet Albert when he visited her uncle in the hospital. He was tall with an intimidating aura and deep voice but his kind smile and gentle eyes made her like him.
She also met James once when he came to pick up Maya in between their dress selection because they had to go somewhere. First thing she noticed about him was that how good looking he was with his curly dark hair, hazel eyes and well defined jaw line.
"Hello, future sister in law." He had greeted, waving at her, giving her a charming grin.
"I like her." He whispered to his wife after Blair replied to his greeting with the same level of enthusiasm, waving her hands and smiling. She had a feeling they would get along well.Being a lawyer, she was used to going out and meeting various kinds of people so it was easy for her to get along with everyone.
The only people that she had left to meet were Denver, Elvis and last but not least, her soon to be husband.
Soon, two weeks had passed and finally there she was, standing in a beautiful white gown, unable to believe that the gorgeous woman in front of her in the mirror was none other than herself.
Her gown was off shouldered with long lacy sleeves, a jewel studded waistline and long, flowy, silky material. Her makeup was kept natural at her request. It really highlighted her naturally pretty features. Her long wavy hair was tied in an elegant princess bun with bangs shadowing her forehead and a few strands coming down to her bare shoulders.
She never felt more beautiful in her life, ever. Suddenly her mind went to Raiden, what would he think, seeing her like that? He would also think she's beautiful, right?
"My God Bree! You are like the most amazing, mesmerizing beautiful, gorgeous, breathtaking and prettiest bride ever!" Jessica gushed. She was her maid of honor and also the credited person behind her simple yet pretty and elegant hairstyle.
"On top of it, you are wearing a dress designed by the Rachel Dominique-Cartier. Her designs are sold out even before they enter the market! Can you ask her to design one for me too?"
The dress was a gift from Rachel who designed it herself. She had been working on an ultimate wedding dress for several months and thought it would be a perfect gift for Blair. And she absolutely loved it. The dress would have been worth thousands of dollars, maybe even millions, seeing the precisely done jewel work.
"Sure, I will design one for you too." Rachel came inside wearing her lilac knee length dress. She was followed by Joanne and other Cartier ladies.
"Oh shi- wow!" Emma exclaimed as soon as she entered the room. Unlike her husband, who was shy and reserved, she was outgoing, friendly and talkative. It made Blair wonder how did two different people like them ended up getting married. Maybe 'opposite attracts' worked well in their case.
Joanne came closer and gently cupped her face. The motherly love in her eyes almost made Blair cry. It had been so long since she experienced that type of warmth.
"My Calvin is really lucky to have you." She said, pecking both of her cheeks. Her words hit Blair like a truck. Reality striked her. It was Calvin Cartier whom she was marrying, not the person she loved.
She suddenly wanted to cry. She had accepted everything with a smile on her face but deep inside her heart, she knew it was not what she wanted. She wanted to cry because she was about to tie herself to a stranger.
Jessica seemed to notice her discomfort and jumped in to her rescue. "Ofcourse Mrs. Cartier, my beautiful bestfriend here is a walking and breathing bag of luck." She said pulling her cheek and winking. Blair smiled a genuine smile and silently thanked Jessica.
Since the ceremony was about to start, people began to pile out of the room. Now it was only her and Rachel left. Rachel placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "Blair, you need to relax a bit, your face is all tensed.
"I'm sorry I just I....." She tried but no words came out.
"I know, this feeling, how you must be feeling right now." Rachel sat in front of her. "I too, once stood in your place. I was also very scared and nervous. It's okay to feel that." She held her hand gently.
"Calvin is an amazing person, don't trust what the media says about him. Everything will work out, okay? You don't have to worry about anything. You are not alone."Rachel's words made her feel better, put her heart at ease. The way she said everything, made Blair want to believe her. She felt thankful for having someone like Rachel on her side on this big day
She moved forward and hugged her."Thank you, your words are what I needed to hear."
"I'll leave now. Don't think too much, hmm?"
Blair nodded and gently squeezed her hand before letting it go. Shortly after, she felt a knock on her door. It was her uncle.
" Let's go dear, the ceremony has started."
Miguel felt guilty that he had to push her to something like this. He had apologized to her multiple times for not being able to do his duties well but Blair assured him that she was happy and willing to do it. Though she acted all happy, he knew better. He was aware that she had already given her heart to someone else. 'It must hurt her so much' he thought.
Walking down the aisle, her eyes met with Raiden. He looked so handsome with his formal attire. If only he were the person she was going to say 'I do' to. For a moment she thought she saw sadness and regret in his eyes.
Shaking off her thoughts, she broke the eye contact and looked in the front, meeting the intense gaze of her to be husband as if he caught her staring at another man at their wedding.
Moments later, the crowd was cheering as they shared their first kiss as a married couple. From that moment on, she knew her life was going to change. For better or for worst? Who knows.
Unlike the wedding that was limited to close friends and family, the reception hall was full of people. Blair changed her white wedding gown to a floor length red mermaid dress which hugged her hourglass figure with perfection till her thighs, after which it fell to her legs like a waterfall, with spaghetti strap sleeves and V neck. Her hair was free from the bun, her makeup was the same, except her plump lips that were coated red, similar to her dress. Calvin also changed out of his tuxedo and bow tie to a three piece dark red, velvet suit to match her dress. His hair was gelled and styled upwards which gave him a fatal look. But it wasn't her husband Blair was paying attention to. Her chocolaty eyes were searching for a certain dark eyed, pale skinned person admist of them greeting the guests. "Congratulations Blair, Mr. Cartier." There he was. Looking as handsome as ever in his formal suit. She gave him a shy smile, Biting the
Calvin's house was gigantic for one person. It was a two floored mansion, with about five rooms and an indoor swimming pool. The decorations, the furniture, the designing, everything screamed money. It was all so modern, almost futuristic. Surprisingly, the house looked very bright. She thought he would be a dark colours type of guy but his house was painted baby blue and white with matching furniture. She loved the place. They were standing in the living room. A was huge, a long blue couch with two small ones at the side and a glass table in between was placed in the centre of the room. The front wall was a collage of framed pictures. Family photos, graduation photos, school pictures and even some random shots were placed precisely on the wall. Kitchen was included in the living room. The stove was electric and sensory, cabinets had well designed sunmica on them, counter was made of pure white marble in a U shape. And at the end of the counter, an expensive table cl
The digital clock on the table said 7:30 when Blair woke up. 'What is this place?' she thought, noticing the unfamiliar surroundings. Memories from the previous day flooded in her mind. She was in her new room, their room. The place next to her was empty meaning Calvin was already up. She changed into her workout clothes, a fitted tank top and black leggings and went towards the rooftop to follow her daily yoga and meditation session. The rooftop was wide and broad, there was a lot of space. She spread her mat and putting on some classical music, she began her routine. Seeing the wide area of rooftop, she thought of something. The place was perfect for gardening. Maybe she could plant some fragrant flowers and a few herbs and vegetables. She trusted her brain to remind her later to talk about this with Calvin. Walking back to their room, she couldn't see him anymore. He wasn't in his study or at the mini gym and not even at the pool. This left only two places, kitche
Blair was crying. While sitting in a puddle of soapy water and surrounded by dirty clothes. The person who claim she could fight voldemort was crying, because of laundry. It had been days since they got married and Blair was having time of life while living with Calvin. He was just so active in household work. She didn't have to lift a finger and not to forget his five star Michelin like food. She felt guilty for not helping around the house so she volenteered to do the grocery shopping but Calvin made her stop after one day because she messed up between scallions and wild reek. Which 'absolutely ruined his special dish' in his words. She didn't understand what the deal was, both were long and green. Since that day she would always accompany him to the market to learn 'the art of grocery shopping'. Again, his words. Now, there was one thing that was bothering her. The pile of dirty clothes that she had gathered. She didn't know how to do laundry. She thought of asking Mary or Tris
"All of you are fucking useless!" Britney screamed pointing at the 3 suit cled men in front of her. She stomped her pumps on the tiled floor in frustration. Frustrated that those three men with wide range of connections weren't able to get her brother out of jail. "We tried our best mam but the case is too strong. The prosecution really made sure not to leave any loop holes. Even bribing the higher ups didn't help." One of the men spoke bowing down his head. She let out a long breath. She was furious. They were one of the most powerful and feared families of the country and suddenly because of a rookie lawyer her brother went to jail and their relevance began to fade? She couldn't accept it. Those higher ups who mooched off their money were now covering like rats, hiding behind the fake masks of honesty and patriotism. 'Of course they would do that, after all they are getting praises without
"This is so tiring." Blair sighed while shifting her weight from one leg to another. Her heels were making her legs ache. Well, they are called killer heels for a reason. "Then you shouldn't have wore six inches of heels." Calvin nagged. Even the sight of those strappy maroon heels looked painful. He looked around searching for a place to sit but everything was occupied. He called over a waiter and asked him to arrange an extra chair. She gave him a greatful smile. His thoughtfulness somehow made her feel special. If only she didn't already love someone else, she would have fallen for him the day they met. "Hey there, hotstuff." A familiar voice made them both tum around. "Did you miss me baby?" Blair smiled wide and squeezed her into a bone crushing hug. She looked pretty as always in her thigh length black bodycon dress. Jessica was the most beautiful women she had ever seen. Wi
"Everydaaaayyyyyy, all I wanna have is fun, fun, fun. Fun anywayyyyy, so just come and join us one by one." "Looks like someone woke up on the right side of the bed today." Calvin's amused voice interrupted Blair's happy singing session. He was enjoying her off tune singing white drinking his glass of milk. She was all ready for her work wearing a lemon yellow blazer and pants with white shirt. Her long hair was pulled back in a sleek ponytail with bangs on her forehead. She wore minimalistic makeup, just some eyeliner and cherry flavoured lip tint. She was making a special milk coffee. "The coffee machine at the firm broke down yesterday." "What a strange reason to be happy but I won't judge." He licked his lips clean of any traces of milk. She prepared an extra cup of coffee and placed it in front of him. Before he could protest, she interveined,
"One bucket of chicken wings, also a plate of white sauce pasta and a large potato garlic cheese bites." Blair looked at the boy in front of her, flabbergasted. He was ordering one after other, eating like he had never seen food in his life. "Slow down Wan, first finish what has been served." It would be a shame if all that food went to waste. Wan tried to say something but only muffled sounds came out. He finally swallowed the food in his mouth and said, "You might not treat me after what I am about to tell you." Wan was her informer. Just a 19 years old kid who was very sneaky and resourceful. He used to be a part of a local gang of thieves but left everything after he started working for her. He had made some loyal friends there, who came out to be very useful for getting information. Blair kept moving her leg in impatience while he sat there eating peacefully. She had asked him to look for Stephanie. It had bee
