Moni

The day has turned dark, and Devan still hasn't met Lisa, resigning himself to going home that night.

Before leaving, Devan leaves his phone number on a paper on the table, still hoping to be contacted by Lisa. After all, he hasn't given her any money yet.

Devan is already on the ship, choosing to stand on the top deck. His eyes keep staring towards the hotel, as if something is left there, but he doesn't know what.

On the dock, Moni and Lisa are enjoying the cool night breeze, gazing at the luxurious ship in front of them. Lisa has to take a break from work because she still feels pain in her groin.

"Mon, you know, besides working at the hotel, I really want to work on that ship. How does it feel to enter such a luxurious ship?" Lisa asks while sipping her coffee.

"I don't know. I never imagined going there. The passengers inside are not middle class like us, but elite class. Look, there's no one dressed as simple as us; they're all in luxurious attire," Moni replies.

"Looks like you need to change your dating strategy," Lisa says flatly while sipping her coffee.

"What do you mean?" Moni furrows her brow.

"You have to glam up and find a target getting off that ship to date, so you can get in. And don't forget to invite me after you successfully date one of them," Lisa replies casually.

"You're crazy! I don't want to be with old men, it's creepy!" Moni says, shuddering at the thought of being with an old man.

"Find someone young then."

"Like anyone would want a girl with our simple looks?"

"Maybe you should aim higher."

On the ship, Devan, lost in his thoughts, suddenly notices Moni and Lisa laughing happily.

"Beautiful island," Devan compliments when he sees Lisa laughing.

Suddenly, Devan realizes something when he looks at Lisa's face. He rubs his eyes repeatedly.

"Right, that's her! I have to meet her and ask her to keep her mouth shut forever!" Devan impatiently exclaims, rushing downstairs.

Just as he descends to the second floor, the ship's siren sounds, a sign that the ship is about to depart.

"No! Don't leave now! I have to meet someone," Devan says, running.

By the time he reaches the lower floor, the ship's siren sounds for the third time, indicating that the ship is truly departing.

Devan can only sigh with disappointment. He stands by the window and looks outside. As expected, the woman he saw earlier is the one he slept with last night.

It's easy for Devan to stop the ship and ask it to turn back, but he can't do that. Everyone will wonder what happened, and he can't tell people what happened to him, especially with Robi on the ship now. Robi will surely ask in great detail why they should turn the ship back.

Meanwhile, in Robi's special room, Robi is on the phone with his mother.

"I failed to trap Devan, Mom."

"Failed? How could that be? You're utterly useless, just being asked to do that," his mother retorts.

"Well, I didn't know Devan would keep video calling Eca until he left the bar," Robi replies.

"Damn it! What now? Can't you trap him on the ship?"

"I can't, Mom. There are many people on the ship who know both me and Devan. I don't want to take the risk."

"It seems we need a new plan!"

"Yes, Mom."

They have arrived home. Devan and Eca are busy preparing for their wedding. All the media are talking about them, how perfect they are. The handsome guy who just finished his postgraduate studies abroad, the grandson of a wealthy entrepreneur, is about to marry a beautiful and viral photo model.

On the other hand, Lisa has been feeling unwell lately. Her appetite has decreased, and today she can only lie down at Moni's house.

"Lisa, if you're sick, why don't you just lie down at home? I can come to your place and accompany you," Moni suggests, stroking Lisa's head.

"Oh, Mon, it's like you don't know my stepmother. There's no way I can relax at home. Even though I'm sick like this, I'm still asked to cook, sweep, wash dishes. But I'm really nauseous, especially the smell of food, so nauseous," Lisa says, covering her mouth.

"Ugh, gross," Lisa recoils at the thought of the food smell.

"Your sickness is so weird, like a pregnant woman's illness," Moni says unintentionally, but it immediately makes Lisa jump.

"Pregnant?" Lisa repeats Moni's words.

"Why?" Moni asks.

"Can you please go buy a test pack? I'm afraid your guess might be right," Lisa requests.

Moni is stunned by Lisa's words. "I just remembered, you slept with someone that night, and both of you didn't use protection because that guy was drunk," Moni says, covering her mouth with her hand.

"Don't make me anxious! I have to know the truth! Please go buy a test pack for me," Lisa says anxiously.

"Okay, I'll go now. You take care at home," Moni replies, leaving the house.

Not long after, Moni returns with several types of test packs.

"I bought many test packs. I really hope the result is negative," Moni says while handing the test packs to Lisa.

"Hopefully," Lisa replies hopefully, then she goes to the bathroom.

Lisa dips the test pack into her urine and waits for the result in a few seconds.

"No, this can't be," Lisa whispers with tears falling instantly.

Still in disbelief, Lisa puts all the test packs back into her urine, and once again, all the test packs show a positive result.

Lisa collapses in the bathroom; her legs are no longer strong enough to support her standing. Her cries break out, prompting Moni to quickly approach her.

"Lisa, what's wrong?" Moni asks with a trembling voice. She is also afraid that what they fear is indeed true.

"Mon, what should I do, Mon

i? What if my dad finds out I'm pregnant?" Lisa says, sobbing.

Moni gathers all the test packs on the bathroom floor and examines them carefully. It's very clear; two lines appear on all the test packs.

"Calm down, Lisa, calm down. Let's go to bed," Moni says while helping Lisa out of the bathroom and heading towards the bed.
