Chapter 03

At the hospital, Kimberly saw that her mother was dying and there was nothing he could do about it. When she was being a nuisance and begging the doctor to treat her mother, she was thrown out of the emergency room with her mother locked inside.

Kim was crying bitterly when suddenly, the air went cold and deadly. Her heart picked up at a fast rate for a reason she didn’t know but that is the thing with Stone Maxwell. He is a man of aura, his looks send out messages without him talking and his presence is enough to make any man fall to his knees.

The sound of his shoe alerted her to raise her face, she could see her reflection in the strange man’s shoe.

She raised her misty eyes clouded with tears, unable to reason why the approaching figure stopped in front of her.

He ordered the guards to clear off the corridor and since they knew who he is, they left the area for him.

“Carry this filthy woman!” He ordered.

“Yes, Mr.Stone,” the guards said.

Hearing the name, Kim wiped her tears and fell to her knees “I’m so sorry Mr.Stone, it was a mistake” she said amidst tears.

Seeing Kimberly touch his expensive clothes, he scrunched his face. He surveyed her tiny frame and fragile arms— his glacier eyes looks on.

“ Mistake? Then you should pay for it” he said.

“I will accept whatever punishment you want to give me but please don’t take me away now, my mother is dying... I can’t leave her here” she pleaded.

He was confused, the woman in front of him is acting all pretentious and naive meanwhile he knew her to be tricky and greedy.

He had been on the lookout for her for years.

“Then you should watch her die! What happened to the pay those people gave you in return for sleeping with me? Or the one you exploited from the Maxwells?” He said.

“What? I promise it was a mistake, I didn’t work with anyone and I have never visited your mansion before” her voice wavered.

“I swear with my life Mr.Stone, please believe me,” she said.

“I know you very well Ashley! Changing your name won’t hide your ugly heart! How dare you come for me after the chaos you caused in Maxwell’s household?!” He challenged.

Now, Kim was tired of crying and explaining, she could feel strength departing from her already.

She passed out because of the stress.

— For the second time today, Kim found herself sleeping on a comfy bed. The streaks of light entering through the blinds woke her up.

She jumped on her feet and yanked the bedcover away from her body.

She was about to run when Stone’s voice stopped her.

“Running again filthy rat?” He said.

Kimberly became frozen, but slowly she turn around to see him sitting on the couch beside the bed with his long legs crossed over each other. The dazzling sunlight seems to outline his slender frame and his face holds elegance even with his cold aura.

“I have to go back to my mother please!” she pleaded with tears threatening to fall.

“I have paid for your mother’s operation and the hospital bills,” he said simply without sparing her a look.

Kimberly was shocked and confused. She committed a serious crime against him and he helped her this much?

She was hesitant to thank him but she did it anyways.

“At least you’re smart enough to know it isn’t for free,” he said then stood up from his seat.

Mischief glowed in his eyes as he strutted towards her.

He crouch to her level on the ground and grabbed her chin fiercely “I don’t know what your cover story is this time around but I will surely ruin it” he said.

The tears threatening to fall found their way freely down Kimberly’s cheeks.

He took the files on the table and gave them to her to sign.

“It’s a contract, sign that and I won’t get you arrested,” he said.

“A contract?” She repeated.

“Stay with me under this roof for 120 days in exchange for paying for your mother’s hospital bills,” he said.

Kimberly was starting to get scared, the condition for helping is considered small to what she was willing to do to repay him but then she could not understand all the strange things he’s been saying about knowing her. Did he perhaps mistake her to be someone else?

“I’m sorry Mr.Stone, I still need to look after my mother so I’m afraid I can’t live with you for 120 days please tell me how else I can repay you,” she said.

Annoyance took over his bottomless icy stares “You think you’re in a position to reject my offer? 

“I have seen your type before, they knew of my sexual illness and tried to get on my bed to bear my child but they are rotting in hell already!” He said with a maniac smirk — I need to be sure you’re not pregnant and that is by being under my watch and doing everything I ask of you!” He said.

Kimberly was in a tight spot. She imagined how her mother would live without her and what this dangerous Billionaire would do to her. He’s rich enough to get rid of her and clear all her life history from the system without a trace.

She heaved a sigh and said tearfully “I will do anything you want but please take care of my mother” she said.

“You seem to forget things a lot, you’re in no position to make deals with me.... but I’ll do it,” he said.

Kimberly signed the contract and he collected it from her.

“Good! The most important part of the contract is just 3— Don’t you dare touch my kids, Don’t ever enter my room unless I call for you, and don’t expect anything good from me!” He said to her.

Kimberly replied with a head nod.

“Good now take off your clothes,” he said... TBC
