Walking up the next morning to an empty bed was heartbreaking. As my hand felt the cold sheets, they also landed on a piece of paper. I had to look with just one eye since my other eye felt a little stiff this morning. A scab had formed over my eyelid.

I do have a few things I need to take care of so I might as well get up and start my day. It only took me half an hour to get ready. The weather was going to be beautiful today so I put on some olive green dressy loose shorts with a fitted black tank that tucked into them. Since there was still no power, I just pulled my hair into a side braid and paired the whole outfit with flat sandals. The earrings my parent’s gave me never really left my ears but I did put on a long necklace with a single opal stone shaped in a tower. I loved this necklace as people said it brought out my eyes.
