LOGINChapter 5
Denver’s POV
The bright morning sun hit me across the face as I stumbled out of what looked like a penthouse. My mouth tasted like ash, and I had no idea how I had gotten there.
All I remembered were his hands on me and those gray metallic eyes that had swallowed me whole, dragging me into some kind of twisted twilight zone.
I had fucked another man. A man who wasn’t my husband. A man I knew nothing about… yet somehow felt achingly familiar.
I waited for the guilt to hit. For the disgust to rot through my veins and drop me to the cold floor. But it never came.
Instead, there was only a cold, hollow dread.
My mind drifted back to Dylan—my husband. I kept telling myself what I had seen was a mistake. That he had finally come to his senses and regretted every single betrayal over the last three years.
His infidelity still cut deep. But I was no better than him now. Our sins canceled each other out. At least… that was what I kept repeating to myself.
The taxi pulled up in front of our building. I didn’t waste time climbing in. The oversized T-shirt I was wearing—the one belonging to the stranger I had left naked in that bed—did nothing to dull the subtle throb between my thighs.
How fucking wasted had I been to lose both my dress and my wallet?
My phone buzzed weakly at 10% battery. That was the only notification I got. There were no missed calls from Dylan. No frantic texts begging me to come home. Nothing that said he had been worried sick about me.
When the taxi stopped outside our familiar little condo, a wave of dread crashed over me. For a second, I almost told the driver to keep going—to take me anywhere else. A cheap motel. Anywhere but here.
He probably felt guilty too. He was most likely rehearsing his apologies right then.
The thought eased the ache in my chest just enough for me to step out.
As I walked up the pavement, my gaze snagged on the house next door. It had been vacant for years, but that day there were painters and maintenance crews buzzing around it. Strange.
I reached our patio, pushed open the front door, and froze.
Dylan and my best friend, Talia, were in the middle of the living room, wrapped in each other’s arms, swaying slowly to a song we used to play on repeat. They didn’t hear me enter. They didn’t even flinch when my phone slipped from my fingers and clattered to the floor.
They had built their own little world, and I wasn’t invited.
My knees buckled as I slowly backed away. I felt like an intruder in my own home.
I had never seen Dylan’s eyes so bright. His smile was so wide it looked like it might split his face.
“Dylan…” His name slipped out of me like a broken breath.
They jerked apart like criminals caught in the act. His eyes finally landed on me, but there was no guilt in them. Only mild surprise.
“Denver… you came back.”
He walked toward me. For a split second, I almost stepped back—terrified he would smell the stranger on my skin. Then I remembered I had nothing left to be ashamed of.
His expression darkened the closer he got.
“Where the hell were you?” His nostrils flared. “And why do you smell like a cheap slut?”
The old instinct to drop to my knees and beg for forgiveness surged through me, cold and familiar. I crushed it.
I lifted my chin and stared straight into his cold eyes. “Wouldn’t you like to know, husband?”
My gaze slid to Talia. She was sneering at me like I was the villain destroying their perfect little life.
“While you were busy fucking your whore, I was doing everything I could to forget that you’re the worst mistake I ever made.”
“Denver!” Talia’s pitiful cry screamed out, her voice cracked as if my words had cut her deep. “H-how can you say such a thing about me! It’s not my fault Dylan thinks you’re so unsatisfactory.”
I didn’t have time to respond before Dylan pulled my hand back.
The slap came fast and vicious, snapping my head to the side. Pain exploded across my cheek. I tasted blood.
“You will show respect to Talia!” Dylan roared, spittle flying. “I thought you were decent. Pure. But the second you got the chance, you turned into a fucking whore!”
In three years, he had never hit me. Never called me names. Now he was doing both—for *her*.
I didn’t miss the smug, triumphant smile spreading across Talia’s face.
I had been such a fool.
Even after his cheating, I had convinced myself we could still fix this. That I could be the understanding wife everyone expected me to be.
But this marriage of mine was done for. It was beyond saving and I needed to pick up myself and show the world I wasn’t that woman anymore.
I wasn’t the weak pathetic wife that would wait for her cheating loser of a husband to see her after years of failing me.
I wiped the blood from the corner of my split lip and straightened my spine.
Dylan watched me, waiting for the tears, the screaming, the fight. I gave him none of it.
“Okay,” I said with a calm smile. “I guess this is the best choice, hubby.”
Talia’s mouth fell open behind him. Dylan stared at me like I had lost my mind.
For a moment, he didn’t speak. He waited… hoping my act was nothing but a pretense.
Then when he saw I wasn’t going to offer him another answer, he nodded.
“My father’s coming next week to review the company’s performance. Prepare yourself. I need to be in his good graces if I’m going to be named the next CEO. Do not disgrace me.”
Dylan had always been that desperate daddy’s boy—chasing approval from a man who barely acknowledged his existence. In fact, I was beginning to think the man was just a fantasy Dylan had created to make himself strive more for a weird validation.
I used to bend over backwards to help him impress his father. I ran the company like it was my own.
But that would all end that day.
I didn’t tell him that though. I just nodded.
He gave me one last heated look before he turned toward the stairs, Talia trailing behind him like an obedient shadow.
I spoke again.
“You said you wanted an open marriage,” I called out, voice steady. “But you never asked if I agreed.”
I couldn’t just allow him to dictate while feeling as if I was being forced into it. If he wanted an open marriage, I might as well make it feel like it was on my own terms.
His head whipped around. “What?”
“I accept.” A slow, cold smile curved my lips. “But on one condition…”
Chapter 32 Denver’s POVThen, slowly, she went lower and lower. I watched, heart pounding, as her head disappeared between my spread thighs. Her warm breath teased my sensitive skin, making me shiver. She started with soft, lingering kisses along my inner thighs, her lips pressing gently, then sucking lightly on the soft flesh. Each kiss got closer to my aching pussy, but she deliberately avoided it, building the anticipation until I was practically vibrating with need.“Please…” I whimpered, my voice breaking. She looked up at me with a wicked smile. “You want my tongue, baby?”“Yes,” I gasped. “Fuck, yes.”She finally gave in. Her tongue flicked out, tracing a slow, wet line from the bottom of my slit all the way up to my swollen clit. I moaned loudly, my hips bucking up toward her mouth. She licked me again, slower this time, savoring my taste.“Mmm, you’re so fucking wet,” she murmured against my pussy, her voice vibrating through me. “Taste so sweet.”She pushed her tongue deep i
Chapter 31 Denver’s POVThe stripper’s fingers kept stroking my pussy lips through the soaked lace of my panties, slow and deliberate. She tilted my chin up with her other hand, forcing me to look straight into her eyes. “Keep your eyes on me, baby,” she purred, her voice low and sultry. “I want to see how good I make you feel.”I moaned helplessly as she rubbed my swollen folds, pressing the fabric against my aching clit. I was embarrassingly wet — slick and dripping, but not quite as drenched as I had been when Horace had me bent over his desk earlier. Still, my body responded eagerly, my hips twitching with every teasing stroke. She kept teasing me like that for long, torturous minutes, circling my clit, dipping just the tip of her finger under the edge of my panties without ever pushing inside. I grew desperate, my waist starting to roll and grind against her hand, silently begging for more. The stripper smiled, sensing my growing need. She leaned down and started planting soft,
Chapter 30 Denver’s POVThe stripper pulled back just enough to tease me, her painted lips hovering close but not quite touching. A playful, challenging smile danced in her eyes as she swayed her hips, the thin tail of her costume brushing against my thigh. The deliberate distance made my skin prickle with frustration. I had spent the entire evening being pushed and pulled by Horace’s games. Tonight, something in me snapped.I grabbed the back of her neck and yanked her face to mine. The kiss started gentle — soft lips meeting, a tentative brush of tongue. But the moment her hands tightened on my waist, pulling me flush against her body, the hunger took over. I parted my lips wider, deepening the kiss until it turned raw and messy. Our tongues slid together, tasting, exploring. She tasted sweet, like cherries and sin. I moaned softly into her mouth, my fingers threading through her hair as I devoured her.I peeked over at Horace. He sat on the couch, legs spread wide, eyes dark with r
Chapter 29 Denver’s POV I froze the moment my eyes landed on her. The same stripper from that wild, hazy night — the one whose lips had tasted like cherry gloss and bad decisions. She stood near the private bar in the VIP suite, dressed in a sleek, provocative cat costume that left almost nothing to the imagination. The black lingerie hugged every curve, with strategic cutouts along her hips and cleavage. A thin tail swayed behind her as she shifted her weight, and delicate whiskers were painted across her high cheekbones. She looked even more dangerous than I remembered. “How did you get here?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “This isn’t the same club from that night.” Horace’s low chuckle sent a fresh wave of heat through me. He stepped up behind me, his presence warm and commanding. “I ordered her as a special package. Just for you.” I tore my gaze away from her, my cheeks burning. “I don’t want her.” Horace’s smirk was immediate and knowing. He moved slowly arou
Chapter 28 Denver’s POVHorace stood there in the quiet hallway, looking at me like he already knew how the rest of my night would unfold if I went home. “Let me take you home,” he offered, his voice low and steady.I shook my head immediately. “No. I’ll drive myself.”He didn’t argue. Instead, he leaned against the wall, watching me with those dark, knowing eyes. “Alright. But let me paint a picture for you of how the rest of your evening is likely to go.” His tone was calm, almost conversational, but every word landed like a carefully placed blade. “You’ll walk through the door and immediately walk into another argument with Dylan. He’ll be in one of his moods, probably because he’s still seething about our earlier conversation. Then that little whore he’s parading around will join in, making snide comments while they both make you feel like an intruder in your own home. You’ll eat the same tasteless food, breathe the same suffocating air, and go to bed wondering how much longer you
Chapter 27 Denver’s POV I walked back to my office with my tail between my legs, legs still shaky and my panties uncomfortably damp from everything that had just happened. My skin still tingled where Horace’s fingers had been, and the memory of Zane’s dark eyes watching me come undone kept flashing behind my eyelids. I felt used. Exposed. And shamefully, undeniably alive. The second I stepped through the door, I saw Dylan sitting in the chair across from my desk. He didn’t look happy. His jaw was tight, his eyes narrowed, arms crossed over his chest like he’d been waiting for a fight. Normally that look would have made my stomach twist with anxiety. Today? I couldn’t find it in me to care. “Where have you been?” he demanded the moment I closed the door. I ignored him at first, walking around my desk and dropping into my chair. My body still hummed with residual pleasure, and every shift of my thighs reminded me of how soaked I still was. I crossed my legs slowly, deliberately,
