The night before, Aloysius had only returned home in the wee hours of the morning after a business dinner, feeling terrible from having had too much to drink. Just as he took the homemade hangover remedy from the maid, Felicia came downstairs, her footsteps unsteady with fury.

She snatched the remedy from Aloysius before he could even finish and snapped, "All you do is drink! How are you still in the mood to drink?"

Aloysius was dumbfounded. "What's gotten into you, Mom?"

Felicia stood with her hands on her hips. "I'm telling you. Stay far away from that woman! You're not to see her ever again! That's an order!"

It was the same old lecture, one he'd heard countless times. Brushing it off, he turned to head upstairs, but this time, Felicia was determined. She dragged him over to the couch and demanded, "I'm talking to you! Are you even listening to me?"

She continued to rant, "I've never met such an ill-mannered woman. She's nothing but a shrew! A jinx!"
