Chapter 5

LAURA POV

When I finish preparing his breakfast, I made my way to his room, I knock on his door but no response. After three minutes of knocking I decided to enter his room maybe he is in the shower but what I saw is so fabulous.

I saw my boss half-naked with his butt on display trying to wear his boxers. 

"You dumb, can't you knock on the door before entering?" He stares at me angrily. 

"I knocked but no reply, I think you are in the bathroom that is why I enter. I am sorry" I stylishly roam my eyes over his body. 

He seemed like he walks out of a magazine, with his perfect body, he has a nice broad shoulder and perfect abs a girl could die for. 

He went inside his closet and wear sweat pants and half sleeve shirt.

To say the truth, I have never seen a perfect body like this before, but what he said to me make me reply him that way to hurt his ego. 

A knock on my door jolted me out of my thoughts. 

"Laura, Mr. Moreno needs you," One of the maids told me. 

"Thanks, I will be there now" I stand up immediately to attend to him because I don't want him to insult me. 

When I get there I see that he is having some visitors so maybe he wants me to attend to them. 

"I am here sir" He turned me and I can see that his eyes are red like he is about to cry but holding the tears back.

"You know you are so disrespectful?  Can't you see that we are in the middle of a discussion before you put that your dirty and stinking mouth in here disturbing us" He said with anger.

"But you are the one that sent for me," I told him but he did not say anything.

"Mom, Dad, what will you like to have?" That is when I know that the visitors are his parents. 

So this arrogant prick as a family. His mom did not reply to him instead she turns to me. "Anything my dear," She told me politely with a smile adorning get face. 

So this arrogant bastard has a nice family. His mom and dad talk to me politely they told me to give them anything. Mary once told me that he was a nice guy before.

What happened to him that made him turn cold and arrogant?

It has been three months now that I have been working with Mr. Moreno. I am used to his arrogant way but sometimes when I can't take the insult I talk back to him. One day we fight about the food I made for him and I told him that I am not a chef or I am an Italian because the food he told me to make is an Italian recipe.

I told him that since he is an Italian he can enter the kitchen and make the food by himself. I told him and walk out on him.

I thought he will fire me the next day but he did not say anything at all instead he gave me more work to do than the usual work I supposed to do.

"You are looking good girl," Stacy said while we are eating.

"Me, looking good? Are you for real? My boss makes my life a living hell while working with him and you told me that I am looking good. He is what you call rude, arrogant, cold, and sometimes crazy. Can you believe that he is telling me not to seduce him because he can never fall for a whore like me, as if he knows me before?" I said with anger.

I am at my place for a little break, Mr. Moreno is on a business trip so he told me to go and when he comes back he will give me a call.

"Are you sure?" Stacy asked me and I nodded my head because I have stuffed my mouth with the food I am eating.

After we finish eating, we went out shopping and I also went to the orphanage to see my mom and the kids. I spend two days with her and the kids before I went back home and I also spend some days with my friend.

Today is weekend and she is going to work tomorrow and I am also going back to my apartment today, so she decided we should go out and have fun. By the time I come back home at night, I am so tired. I went to the bathroom to take shower and have a nice sleep.

The next day after I wake up, I went to the bathroom to freshen up and prepare something to eat. While eating I heard my phone ringing from the bedroom.

"Good morning my daughter," Mary said on the other side of the phone.

"Good morning Ma"

"I am sorry for disturbing you" Maybe my boss has come back.

"No problem, how are you doing?" I asked her and she replies that she is good.

"Mrs. Moreno told me to tell you that if you can be at the mansion by 2 pm today," She said

"I am sorry to ask but has Mr. Moreno comes back?" I don't want his trouble, he told me before he traveled that he will call me when he comes back. He told me that if he leaves me at the mansion I will be poking my nose in another person's business. Arrogant boss.

"No, his mother needs you and she said you should not worry that she will clear things up with his son not to get angry with you," She said and I told her that I will be there. I hope there is no problem.

I finish my breakfast and call Stacy about going back to work, she asks me if there is a problem and I told her that I don't know for now until I get there to find out what happened.

"Take care of yourself and give me a call when you get there to know that you are fine," She said on the other side of the phone.

"Ok, I will call you as soon as I get there. Thanks" We said goodbye to each other before we hang up.

I get down from the cab and made my way inside, I saw other workers going up and down and some people are bringing some things inside.

"Hello dear," I jump a little hearing a voice because I was lost looking at what is happening around here.

"Hello ma'am" I bow a little to greet her.

"I am sorry for calling you back unexpectedly"

"No problem ma'am" She moves closer to me and hugs me saying thanks.

"I just need your help around here, Luca is coming back tomorrow and tomorrow is also his birthday but he did not celebrate his birthday again due to what happened to him some years ago," She said with sadness on her face.

"I am so sorry about that" I don't know what to say

"No problem my dear, since then he distanced himself from everybody, tomorrow I decided to make a surprise birthday party for him and invite his close friends and family to celebrate with him. I just hope he behaves tomorrow" She told me.

She explained what that she wants to do to me and also asked me some of what his son like because it has been so long that she came closer to him, and after the incident that happens to him he stopped some of what he likes to do or eat, she also told me that this mansion where we are now is not the place he stayed before.

"He totally changed, I don't know what to do or tell him again that all that has happened is not his fault," She said and I can see a tear tolls down her eyes.

"Please he will surely come back to how he was before, I think maybe you should give him some more time" I thinking maybe I should ask her about what happened to him. 

"We should give him time till when? It is now over three years now. if I still remember it is three days to his birthday, that time he is preparing for his birthday and also he is happy that he will see his son" She look up trying to hold back her tears "He is preparing to celebrate his birthday with his little boy but............." She stopped talking when we heard Mary called her and told her that her husband wants her.

She excuses herself and I stand up to do another thing. I really want to know what happened to my boss that makes him an arrogant jerk but I think today is not the day.

'Laura, curiosity killed the cat, which is what your boss was saying poke nosing on another person's business' I thought.
