Lucy's POV

The smell of spices wafted in the air. Soft music played from somewhere nearby I couldn't quite place, but I knew enough to know that the tune gave a slight bouce to my feet.

My heat had fortunately subsided a couple of hours after my encounter with the triplets; although every now and then I felt it flare up, it was never as bad as it had initially been. The worst of it had passed, giving me more freedom and lessening my burden.

It was a new day, and I was busy preparing a special meal once again for Tessa and myself. Cooking had grown to become an enjoyable pastime for me, and I cherished the moments I got to cook and prepare meals. It made me feel like an alchemist—putting things together in order to achieve a desired result.

Once the dish was ready, I quenched the fire in the stove and started serving the meal in light ceramic plates.
