It started so innocently—just me in the kitchen, chopping vegetables, the soft hum of music in the background. I didn’t hear them at first, the three of them entering the room as silent as shadows. Shaun’s voice was the first thing I noticed, low and teasing behind me.
"Need any help?"
I turned, startled to find all three of them—Shaun, Scott, and Seth—standing there. Their smirks made me skeptical for a moment.
"No, I'm fine," I said quickly, trying to keep my voice steady. The knife had since left my hand and now I was standing there, not sure of what to do or where to keep my eyes.
But they didn’t leave. Instead, they surrounded me, their presence making it difficult for me to think of anything else—But them.
Shaun brushed a stray lock of hair from my face. Scott leaned against the counter, too close, his arm grazing mine. Seth stood behind me, his warmth a constant reminder of how trapped I was.
"You're always working so hard," Seth murmured, his lips near my ear.
I swallowed, my hand resting more firmly on the counter.
"I like cooking," I replied, trying to ignore the growing heat in the room.
"Why not take a break?" Scott asked, his hand sliding over mine, forcing me to take a deep breath.
Now what?
Before I could protest, Shaun tilted my chin up, his eyes locking onto mine.
"You need to relax," he said softly. And then his lips were on mine, warm and insistent.
I gasped, and in that moment, Seth's hands found my waist, turning me toward him. His mouth captured mine in a kiss that left me breathless. Scott's fingers trailed up my arm, his touch light, teasing.
Somehow, I ended up in their arms, my back pressed against Scott’s chest as Shaun and Seth explored every inch of me with their hands and mouths. I wanted to resist, but my body betrayed me, melting under their touch.
In a heartbeat, they carried me into the bedroom, my mind went blank for a while and I could only think of the faint throbbing of my lower body. They laid me down on the soft sheets. My heart pounded as they surrounded me again, their hands roaming over my skin. Shaun leaned down, his lips brushing against mine.
"Do you want us to stop?" he asked, his voice low, almost challenging.
I hesitated, torn between what I knew was right and the undeniable control they had over my body. "This... this isn’t..."
Seth cut me off, his fingers trailing down my arm, sending small waves of delight through me.
"Don’t think," he whispered, his lips tracing a path along my collarbone.
Scott was at my side, his hand slipping under my shirt, his fingers skimming over my ribs.
"Just feel," he murmured, his mouth claiming mine in a kiss that left me breathless.
Despite my protests, my body craved more. They knew it too. Shaun’s fingers danced over my skin, finding the sensitive spots that made me arch against him. Seth’s lips trailed lower, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. Scott, ever the one with the teasing hands, hovered just out of reach, his eyes dark with intent.
"You won’t reject us, will you?" Shaun asked, his voice thick with desire.
"I can’t," I breathed, my hands clutching at the sheets as my body jutted upward, receiving what they were giving without second thoughts.
I could feel literal flames in my body.
When did I ever feel this way? Never.
"You can," Scott insisted, his fingers brushing against my lips.
"I won’t," I whispered, but it wasn’t the answer they wanted.
"Say it," Seth demanded, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin of my neck.
"I can’t!" I said again, shaking my head, even as my body betrayed me, leaning into their touch.
Their response was relentless. Shaun's fingers explored my most sensitive spots. In a heartbeat, my skirt had been discarded and my legs were parted, wide enough to accommodate Shaun. His finger slipped into me, drawing gasps and moans from me despite myself. Seth's mouth found my breasts, his lips and tongue working together to drive me to the brink of madness. Scott's kisses were a constant assault, stealing my breath and leaving me dizzy.
I tried to resist, but they knew exactly how to break me down, piece by piece. My resolve crumbled with every touch, every kiss, every whispered word. There wasn't much I could do. There wasn't much I could think of, not with a mouth closed over my nipple and another rubbing on my other nipple. And definitely not with a finger inside me, slowly pumping in and out, driving me crazy.
Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore.
"I... I won’t reject you," I gasped, my voice trembling.
They stopped, their eyes locking onto mine, their expressions a mix of triumph and something deeper—something that scared me as much as it thrilled me.
Shaun leaned down, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, almost tender kiss.
"Good," he murmured.
In another minute, his lips were on mine again. My hands reached out to hold him, my hands running along the length of his back. He'd taken off his shirt now and so had the other two. When he got off me, Seth took over, claiming my lips and leaving me breathless.
Fuck. This is it. This is lovemaking.
But then, as Scott slipped his finger out of me, the reality of the situation hit me like a tidal wave. I pushed them away, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps.
"Wait," I said, my voice shaking.
"I can’t... I shouldn’t... I’m your dad’s wife. Is this right?"
The room fell silent, their eyes narrowing slightly, but none of them moved away. The tension was suffocating, their presence overwhelming. Shaun still had the lusty look in his eyes that I didn't hate. Scott was licking his lips and Seth simply looked at me with a mighty frown on his face.
I didn’t know what scared me more—what we had done, or the fact that I didn’t even regret it.
Lucy's POV The cliffs gaped wide open, waiting to swallow us whole. From the palace, I had always seen it from the palace. An endless, pitch-black abyss just waiting patiently for someone to fall straight into its maws. Never could I have imagined myself being right at its edge, close to meeting such an end.Back at the basement, Gert and Finn had taken Shaun and I captive with the use of silver knives, artefacts that had been banned from werewolf territory for years to protect us from those who sought to do us harm. Silver weapons were undoubtedly fashioned by humans, who had taken an interest in our kind, and often looked for ways to overpower us, which led to the rift between our races. Of course, as with all people, hearts were capable of treachery, and wolves would align with humans and vice versa every once in a while in order to achieve certain goals. Now, it appeared that silver weaponry was still very much in operation, which meant that even werewolves could gain access to t
Lucy's POVI came awake with a groan. The back of my head pounded as it was like my eyes were on the verge of bursting out of my head. I looked around me, seeing nothing more but dusty old boxes and two men tied up beside me.Two men . . .“Mphh!” I tried to call out to them, but there was a strip of cloth tied over my mouth preventing me from speaking. I was also tied up, although mine appeared to have been more hasty than that of the men beside me.They were both awake, watching me. Relief crossed their eyes.Scott shook his head, but I couldn't make out what he was trying to say. That was when memories of what had led me here flashed through my mind, eliciting another powerful headache. My nose itched, but with my wrists bound behind me there was no way for me to free myself and escape. I looked around again, and saw that we were alone, or at least, there was no one nearby watching us at the moment.I had to find a way to escape. With a groan, I pushed myself up to my knees. At leas
Shaun's POVUp and down I searched, but I found no trace of my brothers or my cousins. When I finally made my way to the main palace kitchen where food for the festival had been prepared, only then did it occur to.me that I should have come there from the very beginning. The place had been cleaned up, but there were still trays of food arranged on a counter. Untouched. I went up to them and sniffed a tray.I recoiled almost immediately when the scent reached my nostrils. It was faint, and not very obvious, which was why a werewolf could have accidentally ingested it, but what I could smell was no doubt Wolfsbane. Wolfsbane in an event for werewolves? Who was actually wicked enough to do such a thing?I bowed my head in disappointment. Once again, we had been outsmarted. First it was the poison attack on Lucy, and now this. We should have been more vigilant about something like that happening again, but could we have expected it to have been this widespread? This changed the course o
Lucy's POVMore and more werewolves dropped to the ground, their bodies making dull thuds on the floor of the hall. Some people fell atop tables, tipping them over and falling down the glasses and plates atop them. Glassware crashed to the ground, adding to the chaotic atmosphere. My mind went to Tessa and Rosa and I searched around the hall with my eyes, trying to locate the last place I had seen her having fun with the Halflings. I didn't know what was causing people to drop to the floor unconscious, but I was deeply worried that they might have been affected too.Rosa rushed to us, holding Tessa by the hand. Immediate relief washed over me, but Rosa's eyes were bloodshot. She looked more frantic than the last time I had seen her, and her hair that had been perfectly styled now had wisps sticking out at odd angles around her face like a bird’s nest.Tessa wrapped her arms around me, and I could feel her trembling. Of course, such a scene as this was sure to frighten a little child.
Lucy's POV“While I won't comment on what I think about you resorting to using a very outdated misnomer to address me, I also find it important to remind you that you are a widow, and a slave at that. It would be a wiser option to treat people like me with respect,” said Vladimir, narrowing his eyes at me. We had barely been in each other’s orbit for up to two minutes, and I already felt like I shouldn't have been there with him. I couldn't stand his guts already. If Daven had been suffocating, this man was oppressive.I took another sip of my wine, wishing that I had gone for something alcoholic to take the edge off the rough emotions I felt. “I very much like to give as much as I receive, Mr. Vinci. So to what do I owe this pleasure?”He lifted one wicked brow. “I only came to see for myself the woman that was causing so much . . . ruckus in Moongrowl. The maiden that stole my brother's failing heart.”So he had been aware of his brother's ailment? Interesting. “Stealing is putting
Lucy's POV Fortunately, despite all the troubles Gert caused with the venue, I had been able to fix things before the event. It took a lot of sweat and cursing, but my small team and I had been able to finish things up on time. The triplets had even helped out at some point, assisting in replacing banners and scrubbing off places that were never intended to have been painted in the first place. It was a collective win, and I was grateful to them for their assistance. The evening of the event, I had gone over to the room where Rosa and Tessa had been staying in order for us women, or two women and a half, to prepare together. In a way, it was my first actual Moon Festival in Moongrowl, because this time I wasn't tied to a man that merely pressed me to his side because of what he thought he would gain from it. This time, I was going to be free.As I had requested, I had finally been given access to the treasury Daven had created for me. As much as he had been a controlling influence o
