When Daniel opened his eyes again, it was already the next day. He tore out the IV, ignored the fresh blood running down his arm, threw on his suit, and walked out.

By the time he reached the police station, his face was drained of color. "I need to file a report. My wife is missing."

The officers followed the procedure and asked for details. After listening to his explanation of how Evelyn had disappeared, their expressions turned a little strange.

"She's been missing for half a month, and you're only filing a report now? Why didn't you report it earlier?"

Daniel's hand, which was pressed against his chest, trembled slightly. His face went even paler.

The officer finally looked away, his tone turning cold. "We'll do our best to find her. If you hear anything, contact us immediately."

Daniel walked out of the station and headed home. He hadn't expected to find Owen, Tiana, and Zoe already there.
