Chapter 2

Author: Catch The Moon
I really did not expect that such a careful and low-profile man would go on a reality show for his first love.

At that moment, Liam walked in and interrupted my thoughts.

He started to blame me.

“You’re too pampered.

“You won’t die from a mango allergy. Ivy has just returned to the country, so why are you upsetting her?”

As he talked to me, Liam’s gaze stayed fixed on his phone.

He was typing and smiling from time to time with sparkling eyes.

Some memories came to me at that moment.

On our first anniversary, Liam bought a mango cake.

I did not want to waste his effort, so I took a small bite.

In the end, I fell unconscious from an allergic reaction.

When I woke up, he was crying like a baby. His trembling arms were wrapped tight around me.

“Olivia, I won’t let you get close to anything that contains mango. I won’t let you suffer pain like that ever again!”

I came back to my senses. I opened my purse and looked for the medical report.

“I miscarried.”

It was then that he looked at me.

He sounded irritated.

“It’s only a glass of Whisky. Your jealousy knows no bounds. Why are you joking about our child’s life?”

It turned out that when I was in excruciating pain and deep despair last night, he thought that I was acting out of jealousy.

I looked down and passed him the miscarriage medical report.

“Our child is really gone.

“Our relationship should end here too.”

I did not even dare to say the words ‘break up’.

Five years ago, my parents’ company went bankrupt.

In order to pay the debt, I accepted Liam’s financial support and became his mistress.

I lived with him for five years and even got pregnant, but he did not want to marry me or make me his girlfriend.

Liam stared at the report in disbelief.

After a while, he looked at my flat tummy and pulled me into his embrace.

He sounded guilty.

“Don’t be sad. Once you recover, I’ll make you pregnant again.”

He looked lovingly at me as he gently patted my back.

It was as if we were as close as our past selves.

However, I could not ignore the smell of Ivy’s perfume that lingered on him.

I felt nauseated and pushed him away.

“Mr. White, I’m serious.”

Liam heard me address him formally, and his expression immediately fell.

“Nonsense! Do you still think you’re the same rich girl you were in the past? How could you live without me?”

He was right. I was no longer the rich girl who got doted on.

However, I remembered how he used to kiss my neck and stare at me with loving eyes.

He had made promises to me over and over again.

“Olivia, even if you’re no longer rich, you’re still the most precious princess in my heart.”

I clenched my fist as my lips trembled. I could not even utter a word.

Liam finally realized that he had crossed the line. He looked a bit flustered.

“Don’t take this the wrong way. Nothing’s going on between Ivy and me. I won’t abandon you.”

He immediately pulled out his phone.

“I was wrong for what I did at the banquet. I’ll immediately unblock you, and I’ll never block you again.”

He then took out a delicate gift box from his pants pocket.

It was a sparkling diamond ring.

I was stunned.

I would always glance at rings when we shopped or passed by jewelry stores.

He would always pull me away heartlessly and say scornfully, “Olivia, I already treat you very well. You should be grateful.”

He implied that I was just a plaything to him.

He would dote on me, but I would not be the one he married.

However, my body turned rigid when I looked at the ring.

He forcefully pulled my hand over and slid the ring onto my middle finger.

Liam suddenly smiled smugly.

“Look, Olivia. I said that you’ll never be able to leave me.”

Before I could speak, my phone started to ring.

It was a call from Ivy.

“Olivia, Liam doesn’t have good taste at all!

“He ordered a diamond ring worth ten million dollars, but the huge diamond on top looks so tacky…

“I think the free gift worth a thousand dollars that you have looks better!”

It turned out that the ring I had was a free gift.

Ivy’s intentions were very obvious.

I did not utter a word in response. I simply ended the call.

Everyone could see that we were not made for each other. However, I was blinded by his sweet words. The next day, I left the mansion to go to work. Ivy suddenly rushed out. Her face was red and swollen, and her hair was a huge mess. Her limited-edition dress was covered in dirt. She looked like a beggar. She glared at me. “The White family is cancelling my engagement, and my father feels like I am worthless. He wants to disown me. “Now I have nothing left. You must be thrilled!”I was puzzled. From the start, I knew that Liam was the one to blame. My tone was mocking as I said, “I’m not the one who forced Liam to cancel his engagement with you. You should be looking for him, and not me.”Ivy was stunned. Then, her gaze turned murderous. She pushed me aside and stumbled away. I had a bad feeling, but I chose to ignore her. At the same time, I received a text message from an unknown number.[Were you only with me for the money?]I knew it was from Liam. After

I had just walked in when I saw Yvonne scrolling on her phone with an excited expression. When she saw me, she gestured for me to sit beside her on the couch. “The paparazzi took a video of Liam fighting with his fiancee. They were finally exposed. Hahaha!“Those people who supported them before were absolutely disgusting!”I took Yvonne’s cell phone. The video had gone viral. The video only showed what happened after I left. Maybe Liam was trying to protect my privacy. In the video, Liam pulled Ivy and slapped her. He roared, “Before you arrived back in the country, I warned you that I’d make sure to give you what you want on the surface, but you shouldn’t be antagonizing Olivia. “I’m going to cancel our engagement. I’ll personally go to your parents to tell them that!” It was shocking to see him hitting a woman. It seemed like he had forgotten about his gentlemanly upbringing. I had never seen him lose his composure like that. He must have been extremely furio

I subconsciously pushed him away. “Liam, why are you still here?”“What of it? Should I leave so you can flirt with other men?”Liam seemed furious. His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Augustus. Then he punched Augustus!Liam moved too fast, so Augustus did not manage to dodge. His nose started bleeding. I rushed forward to hold Augustus. After I made sure he was fine, I could not help but yell at Liam. “Stop accusing me! Augustus is my colleague. This is the first time I’m meeting him for dinner. If you don’t believe me, go look into it!”“It better be.” Liam sneered. He looked cruel and disdainful. “That’s right. He seems young. He won’t fall for an old woman like you. I’m the only one who won’t mind being with you.” At that moment, Ivy walked into the restaurant holding a glass of mango juice. She smiled insincerely. “Olivia, I made this juice for you. Have a taste. I hope you’ll let go of what happened in the past.”I did not move. My expression darkened

[However, Ms. Anderson suddenly felt a pain in her chest. He was busy taking care of her. That was why he did not chase after you.]I was relieved as I replied to her text message. [You don’t have to tell me anything about Mr. White anymore.]Then, I switched on the computer and started to apply for jobs. I studied design at university, and design jobs were in high demand. Very soon, a gaming company asked me to design some characters’ outfits. I agreed to take on the project. After I finished doing that, I wanted to rest. It was then that Ivy called me. “I underestimated you! Your tactic of playing hard to get has worked. Now, Liam is insisting on cancelling our engagement!“He’s one of the wealthiest men in this city! Even if he doesn’t marry me, he’ll marry someone else! It’ll never be you!” She sounded pissed as she screamed at me. She had completely abandoned her nice-girl image. I did not bother to talk to her. I immediately switched off my phone. At midni

Ten hours later, I finally landed. My best friend, Yvonne Taylor, came to pick me up. When she saw me, she immediately burst into tears. “Look at how thin you are now. My dear Olivia…“I told you that Liam was a playboy. It was only a matter of time before he fell for someone else.”I patted her back gently, but I did not want to keep talking about Liam. “Let’s not talk about this. I left the country so I could be happier.”Yvonne nodded forcefully. “That’s right! When your leg recovers, I’ll bring you to a few bars, so you can forget about that playboy!” We chatted happily on the way home. After leaving a toxic relationship, even the air felt fresher. After we reached Yvonne’s mansion, she could not wait for me to try some of her freshly made pastries. Suddenly, a sharp ringtone disrupted the warm atmosphere. Yvonne took out her cell phone, and she looked confused. “There’s no caller ID, and the telephone code seems to be from home…”My eyelid twitched as I l

However, Liam only took a few bites disinterestedly. He did not even spend the night. I did not understand why until I overheard his conversation with his friend. “I like Olivia because she’s pretty and tame. It’s like teasing a kitten.“But today her hands are covered in blisters, and that really turns me off!”Suddenly, Liam gave me a call. He instructed, “It’s the first time Ivy is following me overseas. She doesn’t know much, so I need you to prepare some materials for her.”Immediately after, I heard Ivy’s sugary sweet voice. “Even though I don’t know much about anything, Liam still likes me.“Olivia, I’m quite impatient. Please prepare the materials by tonight.” Liam stopped her. “Olivia’s not feeling well. Don’t give her such a tight deadline…”“Alright.” I immediately agreed to it. Five years ago, I was forced to make a living by working at Paradise Restaurant as a waitress. If it were not for Liam, who had spent a lot on me, I probably would not have been a
