The mystery unfold (part 2)

I was stunned when I saw the person that asked for my protection. It was my surgeon, the one who gave me my new heart. When she looks at me, she bow her head and tried to smile, even though it came more awkward than it should.

“Oh, Doctor Anne, what are you doing here?” I said to her, while Zephyr asked all of us to sit on the sofa.

“Doctor Anne? oh, come on, she got her first name basis while you asked us to call you doctor Burdock.” He teased my doctor. Somehow, Zephyr also has this side of him. Well, I knew him a day before. Of course, there are a lot of things that I don’t know about Zephyr, Aaron, and also Elm.

“Can’t help it. She was my patient and I know about her thoroughly.” She said to Zephyr with a shrugged. Also another trait that I have never seen in my doctor.

“Both of you seems know each other for quite some time.” I asked them after noticing their interaction.

“You could say it like that,” Zephyr replied was a bit bland and ignorance. I can feel a tension from those two.

“Please hear me out, miss Hunt. The story that I will unravel to you was the part of the reason that you were here today.” Said doctor Anne. Somehow, I can feel that she was nervous. I don’t know why she needs to feel that way. “My best friend, the one that I’ve deeply cared for years, a woman named Hyacinth. She kept a secret from me about her origin. Two years ago, she told me a fantastic tale about the mystic blood, another being that has given a power and is prestigious in this world.”

“The mystic blood?” I said, muttering the words like I was just being hypnotized.

“Yes, and my best friend, Hyacinth, was one of them, a female werewolf with a power of Luna.” I can feel how proud doctor Anne when she spoke about this Hyacinth lady, I do wonder about one thing.

“Luna… power?” I asked the two of them, of course, because I don’t know anything about this mythical world, or what they said as the mystic blood people.

Zephyr took the reign and replied to my question, “Werewolf is the part of a Were Clan, and inside every clan there’s a pack who being govern by council and the alpha.”

“Wait, where’s Luna's position in this?” I asked him again, this time more curious than before.

“Luna is the leader of the werewolf packs in the region, for examples, in the states, there are five major werewolves pack, each with their own Alpha, but all ten of the pack are bowed to one Luna only.” Answered Zephyr, he then continued to spoke more about Luna position, “As female werewolves were scarce, a Luna with a power only born one time in a hundred years, that was Hyacinth, she got the power bestowed by the Moon Goddess, and thus the most powerful Luna in the world.”

“So, Hyacinth is the Luna of the states, right?” I tried to confirm it, while trying to grasp on the story a little, imagine that you get a confirmation about fairy tale which are not a tale from the begin with. My mind was already baffled by this whole mystic blood people.

“Hyacinth was the Luna of the states, which three of the five packs already bound to her.” Another voice came from behind me. When I turn around, I saw Aaron who’s leaning on the door frame. Elm walking from behind him and took a seat beside me.

“Bound?” Another question came after the explanation from Aaron.

“It means the pack was subservient to only one Luna.” This time it was Elm who answered my questions.

“Oh, alright, but… can we stop about all of this explanation for now? I mean… I came here because three werewolves attacking me and the three of you came to rescue me.” I said to them with an unpleasant feeling, “I just wanted to know the reason why I was here, why that those, uhm… werewolves attacked me, I mean… Why me?”

Doctor Anne took her time to finally gave me the answer, “Because your new heart belongs to Hyacinth, miss Hunt.”

I was stunned by her honest and no bullsh*t replied, “So… my new heart was…”

“Yes, the new heart was belong to the powerful Luna in the world, the mystic blood heart that being transplanted into a human.” Said doctor Anne. Although she was the one who perform the surgery, I can see the bitterness that came from her words.

“Was that even possible? I mean… She was not a human, and I am a human!” I was panicking for a moment, now wonder I begun to lose a grip of my mind.

Doctor Anne let out a sighed, and when she look into my eyes, the words that she was spoken afterwards will be engraved forever on inside of my mind, “Truthfully, I never knew if the transplantation surgery will successful, but I need to risk it.”  

“So… for you, I was just a convenient vessel, a vessel that came at the right time.” I was so furious, my hand trembling, my lips quivering. For me, her action as a doctor was unacceptable. She had thrown my normal life into a spiral of danger just so she could rescue the heart of her dear friend.

“Yes, you came at the right time, but you need to know as well, miss Hunt. You’re already as good as death. That weak human heart of yours will never be as strong as this mystic…”

I slapped her face, so done hearing about this mystic blood people. I walk out of the study room and go to the room where they let me stay. Anger and terrified came as one. Angry by how doctor Anne used me, and terrified by the re-precaution of doctor Anne’s action. She gave me a heart that came from a powerful Luna, but, on the other hand, I was just a human.

‘You’re a human of course, but you’re also Cattleya Hunt, a strong woman with many potential.’ The voice inside my head appears again.

Hearing the voice, I drop myself to the bed and gruntled, “Oh, you… did you come because I was getting crazy by the minute?” I said to whatever that voice came from, as for now, I don’t even care.

‘No, actually on the contrary, I came out because you finally knew the truth.’

The words immediately make me jump from the bed. “Wait a second, how…”

‘Oh, about your new heart? About the mystic blood people?’ The voice was suddenly full of confidence, and I swore that I’ve heard a giggle.

“You know all about this?” and somehow it comes to my realization. She came after I gained the new heart, a soft-spoken woman with a voice like someone with an authority, a voice, “Of a Luna.”

The voice gave me a chuckle. ‘Finally, you realize it… Nice to meet you, Cattleya. My name is Hyacinth, the previous owner of the heart that is now belongs to you.’
