MasukEnzo POV
“Bitch!”
“Worthless.”
“Trash.”
I clicked the phone off and dumped it on the table.
“It was an unfair fight,” my right hand said.
“It was an ambush. Cowards.”
“You’re right. Now, what are you going to do about your little princess?”
“I wouldn’t describe Faye as a princess.”
My twenty-two-year-old daughter was a menace. She always had been. She was powerful like me, entitled and spoiled because of her grandmother.
“Bring her in. We need to talk about this video.”
The last thing I thought I’d see was my daughter pummelling Alexandra. My wolf was conflicted. He loved and cared for Faye, but the pull we had to Alexandra couldn’t be ignored.
Alex was feisty and smart. The video didn’t do her justice. I knew she was capable of much more.
“You got it, Alpha.”
My right-hand man disappeared and returned moments later with my daughter.
She looked around my office and scowled. Did I mention she was a snob?
“When you invited me over for dinner, I didn’t expect you’d want us to eat in your office.”
“I doubt you’ll want to eat after what we talk about,” I stated.
I turned on my phone and hit play on the video.
Faye watched it for a moment before she flipped her blonde hair out of annoyance.
“What the fuck is this, Faye?” I demanded.
“It’s just Alexandra. She overstepped her boundaries, and I taught her a lesson. Big deal.”
“She doesn’t have a wolf! A beating like that could have killed her.”
“Why do you care? She’s a fucking human, and she deserves to die.”
Her eyes glowed with the reflection of her wolf. I leaned back in my chair, but didn’t bow to her challenge. Faye was strong, but she was cocky.
“Hunting humans is in our blood. It’s in our pack’s history. I hope Alexandra leaves before she suffers any unfortunate accidents,” Faye smirked.
My wolf growled, and I had to keep him down before he did something irrational. This conversation wasn’t going how I planned.
“You’re not going to do anything to her.” I rose slowly.
“That’s an order.”
“But Dad—”
“An order, Faye!”
She scowled, but sighed in defeat. “Yes, Alpha.”
I relaxed, but I didn’t believe her. Faye wasn’t the only one in the pack who believed in human hunting. I was one of them days ago, but I wasn’t hardcore about it.
“Good. Can we have dinner now?” I asked.
“On second thought, I have plans.”
“With who?” I asked.
A devilish smirk spread on her face. “With Xavier.”
“The Iron Claw Alpha?” I barked.
She lifted a shoulder. “He’s one of the most promising Alphas in the shifter region.”
He’s also the bastard who made Alexandra cry after the council meeting. He was a pig, and I didn’t want him around my daughter.
“Faye—”
“Goodbye, Daddy!” She turned around, blew me a kiss and strolled out of my office.
I balled my hands into a fist and growled. Blaze’s chuckle made my temper worse.
“That went well, huh?” Blaze grinned.
“Well?”
Blaze raised his hands. “That’s what you get for letting your mother raise your daughter.”
“I had little choice,” I grumbled.
“Alpha!” A beta guard came running into my office.
“What’s the matter?” I raised my brows.
He pants heavily, and his face is cherry red.
“A frenzy of male wolves chased a she-wolf to the warrior tomb. I think she’s trapped there.”
“What the fuck?” Blaze asked.
His words echoed my thoughts.
“We tried to chase them off, but it only caused fights with our shifters.”
“These males aren’t even from the Onyx pack. Whose pack are they from?”
“The waxing moon pack, Alpha. What do you want us to do?”
Blaze and I shared a look.
“The only reason they’d chase a she-wolf is if she’s a thief or in heat,” Blaze said.
Normally, I’d let my commander handle this, but if the beta guards had already failed to take care of things, I had to break this up myself.

The warrior’s tomb was an underground memorial to all the fallen warriors in the shifter region. It was guarded by a massive moon goddess statue and a metal gate and steel door that led underground.
“Hey!” I barked. “Leave before I rip each and every one of you in half!”
The males were red-faced, foaming and the mouth and reeked of lust. There were over a dozen of them. How could they all possibly fuck one she wolf?
I paused when I caught a sniff of her heat. It was strong. It was like a rope around my neck. My wolf felt drawn to the she wolf’s heat, too. I wanted to break down the steel door as much as the other guys.
I felt my cock swell, but I fended off those thoughts. I couldn’t let myself become a zombie like these other guys. The males were feeding off the scent alone.
I shoved my way to the steel door and paused. I caught another scent. One more enticing than the scent of heat.
“Mate!” My wolf barked. “She’s inside! Get her out.”
I turned around and glared at each sex hungry male. They chased my mate from the waxing moon pack all the way to the Onyx pack? My blood boiled hotter than the sun. Alpha power seethed out of my skin like sweat.
The lust craze slipped from their eyes, and realisation struck. Suddenly, they realised I wouldn’t let them leave here alive.
“Attack!” My wolf ordered.
“You’re all dead!”
I grabbed a guy by his neck and threw him into the group. Someone tried to attack me and received a punch to the throat.
I emitted a blast of Alpha power, which forced them all to submit. They whimpered and whined.
“Go! Before I murder you all.”
They ran off like injured puppies.
I grabbed the steel door and ripped it off its hinges.
A high-pitched scream came from deep down.
“Alexandra!”
Alexandra POV“Enzo? Why did you follow me?”“Open the damn door so we can talk, Alexandra.”“I don’t need to open the door,” I mumbled.“Would you rather I break it down? I can and pay for the damages later.”I groaned in frustration. I yanked the door open. “I’m so sick of Alpha males!”“What happened to your lip?” He marched into my apartment.I closed the door and locked it.“Nothing happened,” I mumbled.“Xavier happened, didn’t he?”He took my face in his hands before I could respond. “Bastard,” he spat.“I’m sorry, Alex. Let me heal it.”I blinked a few times. “You have healing powers?”Mischief lit up his eyes. “No, but I can heal you. Want to know how?”“I don’t know…”My nipples hardened under my robe. I had a feeling it involved touching, as was the case with wolves. I’d already tasted him, and it was incredible, but he’d also already rejected me. However, the prospect of tasting him again made the possibility of rejection worth it.Ugh, Enzo had broken me. He was turning m
Alexandra POV“Just come home, Alex, please. He’s tearing up the place looking for you. I’ve been worried sick, too.”“I’m coming home.”I hung up and tucked the phone in my bag.“I have to go,” I whispered, avoiding his eyes.He stepped in front of me and stopped me from going any further.“Xavier? The jack ass who made you cry?” He demanded.“It doesn’t matter. He wasn’t always a jack ass to me.”Enzo ran a hand down his face. “What are you talking about?”“I was fated to him, alright. We broke up, though. I don’t know what he wants from me.”“You’ve been fated before?” He raised his brows.“Yes,” I replied, recalling the pain of that rejection.“And you broke up? You mean he rejected you. That little prick,” he spat.“Look, it doesn’t matter. I have to go. I can’t stay here.”“So you’re going to run back into his arms? Fated mates are a big deal, Alex. Xavier never announced to the other packs that he’d found his fated mate and intended Luna.”“People knew about us, though. I’d nev
Alexandra POV“Please be okay,” I pleaded as I ran towards him.How did that tree just fall without a storm or a breath of wind?“Get back!” Enzo growled.“There’s a tree on you!”The veins in his neck bulged against his skin as he struggled to push the thick tree trunk off him. The end of the tree stopped short of the front porch. That’s how long the tree was. “Don’t be so stubborn, let me help you…” I paused. “I’ll go for help.”“No, no!” Enzo barked. “Just get back.”What’s he thinking?!I was in full panic mode. My skin was tight and tense, my forehead pounded from the stress of seeing him pinned to the ground. I stepped back and stepped right on a raised object in the dirt.I hissed, but didn’t scream.Enzo panted heavily. “Alex, I need you to move. Get back to the porch.”I swallowed hard. “You can’t stay like this.”“I need you to trust me.” His voice was soft, but the pain was still evident.I nodded and did as I was told. There was no way my feeble human self could even atte
Alexandra POV“My bed,” Enzo replied.“Huh?”He turned and marched down the short hall. I followed him. His room was the size of my studio, excluding the shower and walk-in closet.“This room could be two rooms. You don’t need all this space,” I stated.“Of course I do.”The room had a massive king-size bed that could easily fit four people. A huge, big screen TV like the one in the living room. It smelled like him. Clean, warm and masculine.“You take the bed, and I’ll take the couch. Simple.”“Wait, you don’t have to do that. You don’t even have to keep me here. I’ll sleep on the couch.”He shook his head. “It’ll allow me to watch the front door.”“I thought you said no one would dare attack the Supreme Alpha?” I mumbled.“They wouldn’t. I just want to be careful. The shower and bathtub are through that door.”I looked into his green eyes. How was I sure my heat wouldn’t lure him to the bed while I slept? Had I made a deal with the devil?“Anything else?” He asked.“N-No. Thank you.
Alexandra POVThe door just came off! I thought that the steel door would hold long enough for me to get the second steel door open, but it was permanently glued to the wall.My name echoed in the stale, cold walls.I hide behind the only raised tomb in this chamber. I curled into a ball and struggled to quiet my breathing.“Alexandra, I know you’re down here.”I paused. “Alpha Enzo?” I whispered.“Come out. They’re all gone.”I remained in my hiding spot. He might want to kill me just like the other shifters who chased me.I heard footsteps, and my entire body froze over. I shut my eyes. The last thing I expected to happen was to be chased by a group of male shifters. I only managed to outrun them because beta guards got between us for a few minutes before they started chasing me again.I didn’t want to die like this. I didn’t want to live like this either. Maybe leaving the shifter region was my only choice.A heavy sigh made me open my eyes.“Didn’t you hear me?” Enzo barked. He ya
