Masuk|| VINCENZO RUSSO'S POV ||
" WHAT??? HOW DARE THEY CANCEL THE DEAL?"
I growled out in rage, anger running through my veins. Not many people dared to deny the deal once It had been made with me. I wondered what led to the possible changes.
Victor, my second in command was noting something on his iPad. He put it aside before coming over to mutter at me,
" It's your grandpa, again! He is interfering with all of our deals."
I shut my eyes in helplessness. One thing was right about this man. He could be damn stubborn. Once he wanted something, he would be claiming it at any cost. Letting out a frustrated growl, I passed my command to Victor, getting ready for another fight,
" Get the car! Seems like the old man is looking for trouble."
________
" YAY!! You hit the shot again!!"
The playful tone of a woman shocked me as soon as I stepped on the yellow yard. Furrowing, I walked closer to see Kaya, playing with Grandpa happily. Kaya was Sancia's younger sibling. Well, it was rumored that Kaya was her step-sister. Their father never bothered to clear the rumors. So, no one knew the truth about their family bloodline. In appearance, Kaya was more feminine than her sister. While Sancia was passionate about leading a whole gang, Kaya was into beauty products. I had also noticed a weird thing her eyes shone like stars whenever I was around. Although I never interacted with Viktor or Sancia, Kaya was closer to my grandpa because she lived nearby abroad and she was favored with many opportunities by my grandpa.
Kaya was beautiful as well. She had a perfectly slim body and loved the shaped waist and v-shaped chin. In comparison to beauty, she would be staying ahead of her sister. Kaya noticed me first, her eyes started shining happily,
" VINCENZO!!"
She practically hopped on my way. I ignored her, passing next to her to meet my grandpa. That old man didn't even bother to shoot me a glance. He kept playing with his rifle, shooting his next target with pure happiness in his eyes. I made a sound, fighting hard to keep my rage in control,
" Grandpa!! Are you going to do this to me? Did you cancel all my deals?"
I couldn't believe that he started bothering me with my business. In Mafias, loyalty was first. I knew that no matter how powerful Don I was, everyone had a secret spot for him in their mind. Grandpa grunted unhappily, aiming for his next target without meeting my eyes,
" I just want to make a reminder to you that I am still the godfather."
I rolled my eyes sarcastically. Kaya made an appearance next to me, her face full of disappointment after being ignored by me. Didn't she know that everyone was talking about my marriage with her sister?
Pinching between my eyebrows, I asked with a growl, my patience almost getting out of control,
" You are destroying our own business because of some foolish promises. Do you think that I would agree with your damn proposal?"
He stopped playing abruptly. Turning his head around, he spoke to Kaya first,
" Kaya! Leave us alone for a while, darling!"
Kaya hesitated a bit but left eventually. Leaving us alone, my grandpa stood in front of me, wearing his serious mafia expression,
" My words are more solid than bullets, Vincenzo. I can't let such a strong girl go away from this household. Whether you like her or not, you have to marry Sancia"
I opened my mouth to defy him again but he cut me off, patting me on my shoulders,
" Just think of her as your girl, not your sister-in-law. Things will be good between you two."
My words slipped out before I could stop myself,
" But I hate her, Grandpa! I hate her to death."
He came one step closer to me, muttered with a smirk,
" Do you hate her for marrying your brother or having the power to defy you?"
I was stupefied for a second over his words. Blinking away, I tried to not take his words in my mind. But he continued in a deep voice,
" Try me as much as you want but in the end, you have to marry Sancia Alekseev."
We had a chat for half an hour already. He showed all the benefits of marrying Sancia. When I was raised about our question of love, he just replied that good sex could forget anything. I was speechless by his choice of words but eventually agreed to give it a final thought.
When I returned to my car, a pair of footsteps quickly caught up with me,
" Vincenzo...Wait..."
Tilting my head back, I saw Kaya running after me. She looked desperate and impatient to talk to me. I stopped to hear her since she was running to me. Kaya stopped to ask me, her lips biting together in nervousness,
" I...I heard that..you are marrying my sister..Is..that true?"
I replied with a tight frown, not having the mood to talk about this again,
" Yes! What's up with you?"
Kaya's expression sank visibly. She tried to sound pitiful,
" That's bad. I know that they are forcing you to marry her because of an heir. But I have something that you can use against her to cancel this marriage."
I was flabbergasted for a moment after listening to her. She came all the way to call off her sister's marriage. Interesting! She sounded more terrifying than she seemed to be. I replied, closing the car door behind me,
" What is that so-called thing, Kaya? I don't even know why you are helping me."
Kaya smiled maliciously, pushing her hair back before saying,
" Umm... it's because... Anyways..you can call off this marriage because Sancia can't fall pregnant again after her last miscarriage."
Chapter 192|| Reinaldo’s POV ||I placed Anastasia back inside the castle gates with my own hands, as if the weight of her exhaustion had transferred into my arms. The iron gate closed behind us with a dull sound, and only then did I breathe properly. "Breathe," I told her softly as I guided her through the corridor. "You're safe now."She didn't reply immediately. Her face was pale, her lips pressed together in an effort to stay composed. I noticed the slight tremble in her shoulders and slowed my steps, adjusting my pace to hers. Every step she took looked heavier than the last."They won't stop, will they?" she finally asked, her voice barely above a whisper."Not today," I said honestly. "But you don't have to face them alone."She looked at me then, really looked at me, and for a moment I forgot everything else. The castle felt too quiet, too still, as if it was holding its breath along with us. I wanted to say more, wanted to promise things I wasn’t sure I could keep, so I sta
Chapter 191|| REINALDO’S POV ||Christen backed off the moment he saw Seth standing beside me. I noticed it in the way his shoulders stiffened, in the way his eyes flicked from Seth to me and then away. He did not say anything. He did not need to. His silence was louder than any threat he could have made. I did not wait to see if he would change his mind. I turned around and walked straight back into the hospital. The smell of antiseptic hit me the moment I stepped inside. My feet moved on their own, carrying me through the familiar corridor toward her room. Every second felt heavier than the last. When I reached the door, I paused, my hand resting on the handle. I exhaled slowly before pushing it open.Anastasia lay on the bed, her face pale but calmer than before. The machines beside her made steady sounds, a rhythm that told me she was still here. Still breathing. Still fighting. My chest loosened just a little as I walked closer.“You’re back,” she said softly, turning her head t
Chapter 190|| REINALDO’S POV ||I didn’t hear Marcel at first. My mind was too focused on the pale stillness of Anastasia’s face, on the way her fingers lay unmoving over the white sheets, on the thin tubes and wires attached to her body. I clenched my jaw, fighting the rage and fear twisting inside my chest.“Boss.”Marcel’s voice finally reached me.I turned slowly. The expression on his face was tight, controlled—but I had worked with him long enough to recognize the signs. Something was wrong. Very wrong.“What is it?” I asked. He stepped closer, lowering his voice instinctively, even though no one was around. “Christen is coming.”The words didn’t register immediately.“Coming where?” I asked, even though some part of me already knew the answer.“Here,” Marcel said. “To the hospital.”The corridor seemed to narrow suddenly, the walls closing in. My fingers curled slowly into fists.“He’s not alone,” Marcel continued. “He’s bringing his gang with him. Fully armed.”For a brief mo
Chapter 189|| REINALDO'S POV ||I dialed Ryan's number, staring at the screen as the phone rang. My fingers tightened around the edge of the phone, but I knew I had to do this. His angry face had been burned into my mind after our last confrontation, and I couldn’t afford to let him get away with targeting Anastasia. He had crossed a line, and now, it was my turn to make him pay.The call finally connected, and I heard his voice on the other end, cold and full of bitterness.“Ryan,” I said, my voice even but firm. “You shouldn’t have targeted Anastasia. Now, you’re going to pay the price for it.”There was a long pause on the other end. I could practically feel the tension in the air, even through the phone. I could picture him standing there, glaring at me, fuming with anger. He hated me, that much was clear. But he hated Anastasia more. And that would be his undoing.“I should have known you'd be the one behind this,” he spat, his words laced with venom. “What do you think, Reinald
Chapter 188|| Ryan’s POV ||I leaned back against the velvet cushions of the luxurious yacht, letting the sea breeze tug at my clothes. The night was perfect—clear skies, stars scattered across the dark canvas above. I was finally where I wanted to be. Arsula sat across from me, her laugh echoing softly over the water as she recounted yet another one of her playful schemes. The plan had gone off without a hitch. Anastasia was finally out of the picture, and though Reinaldo had escaped unharmed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that the woman I had grown to despise was no longer a threat.Yet, beneath the surface of my triumph, there was a discomfort gnawing at me. I hadn’t expected it to be like this. I had assumed once Anastasia was dealt with, everything would feel... complete. But it didn’t. It felt empty, like something was missing. I couldn’t shake the thought that Reinaldo’s survival, his ability to slip through my grasp once again, would eventually come back t
Chapter 187 || REINALDO'S POV || I sat in my office, my fingers drumming impatiently against the polished wood of my desk. Marcel's words replayed in my mind, a haunting echo. "It was Arsula and her team, Reinaldo. They were behind the attack. She was having an affair with Ryan." I felt a rising tide of anger as soon as I heard the name Arsula. How could Ryan, someone I trusted, get involved with such a dangerous woman? My blood boiled at the thought. Arsula had crossed a line—a line that I couldn’t ignore. She had put Anastasia in danger, and for what? A fling with Ryan? I couldn’t fathom it. Marcel stood by the door, awaiting my orders. His expression was a mask of determination, but I could see the hint of concern in his eyes. He knew just as well as I did what kind of situation we were in now. “Marcel,” I said, my voice cold, my fury barely contained, “I need you to list every single man working for Ryan. No exceptions. Everyone. Get it done now.” Marcel nodded immediately, u
Chapter 87|| SANCIA's POV ||The night blurred around me as I drove, tears streaming uncontrollably down my face. The soft glow of the dashboard lights did nothing to comfort me. My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, trembling with a mix of anger, humiliation, and heartbreak. The words from
Chapter 89|| VINCENZO's POV ||The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of the monitors. Sancia stirred, her eyelashes fluttering as she slowly opened her eyes. Relief washed over me like a wave, but it was quickly followed by anger—anger at whoever had done this to her. I leaned
