Elle

There's a body next to me.

Well, under me.

But the technicalities don't matter because someone is in fact breathing next to—under me and loudly might I add.

"Is this always going to be a thing with you?"

My heart drops to my stomach. That voice — smooth, teasing and dangerously familiar — coils around me like smoke.

Slowly, I pry my eyes apart, hoping, no—praying that I’m wrong.

But I’m not.

Because Aaron is lying there, shirtless, one arm propped under his head, the faintest smirk tugging at his lips like he finds my reaction utterly, entirely amusing.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

"There you are."

I shut my eyes again and this time I pry myself away from his chest and attempt to roll to the other side of the bed, away from him, but he stops me, wrapping an arm around my waist, pulling me back and keeping me locked against him. He leans down and his lips gently brush against the outer shell of my ear.

I let out a groan, but it's not from irritation. The hem of my shirt had somehow ridden up

Aaron"Aaron." My sister calls, her tone tired as she tilts her head to examine me. It's been four hours. Four hours of working side by side with my sister, comparing colour swatches, debating centrepieces, and pretending I know the difference between Prussian and Yale blue.“What?” I mutter, not bothering to look up from the seating chart I’ve been halfheartedly adjusting for the past fifteen minutes.Ava lets out a sigh, tapping her pen impatiently against her clipboard because yes, she has a clipboard. My sister has always had a flair for getting things organised. When she was ten, she single-handedly planned her entire eleventh birthday. It was the one thing our 'father' let her have, and so she owned it with every bit of authority an almost eleven-year-old could muster.“You’ve moved the same name three times now." She lets out a sigh clearly bred from irritation and I frown. "Are you even listening to me?"“I’m paying attention,” I lie, eyes still on the paper.“To what exactly

Elle The next few days are spent planning, preparing and organising for the wedding. With so little time to get things in order, Ava's gone into full-on wedding planner mode and is extremely determined that everything goes on without a hitch. You've got to admire her dedication. So far, we've settled on a venue, a caterer and the final bouquet selection as well as centrepieces. Every detail feels like a tiny victory in a marathon of decisions and one step closer to a day I won't forget, in Ava's words.Zoey and Cleo have been incredible through it all which is far more than I deserve. They tagged along for my cake tasting and my first dress fitting —which, to my surprise, went far more smoothly than I expected. The dress only needed a few minor adjustments and voilà, I'll be the perfect bride. The more we prepare for the wedding, the more the days seem to blur into one. I'm tired most of the time and when I'm not planning the wedding with Ava or doing something relating to the weddi

Elle Aaron is gone by the time I wake up which unexpectedly hurts more than I'd like to admit. The bastard didn't even bother to say goodbye nor did he think it necessary to call me to tell me himself. I had to find out from Maureen who insists he went on a business trip but doesn't divulge any information beyond that. I stare at my phone for minutes, annoyance brimming to the surface as I wait for a call, text, maybe even a fucking pigeon. But nothing. I shove my phone back into my bag and jab the unlock button of the car. I tell the driver to pick me up in an hour, and he nods once before kick-starting the engine and driving off. I step inside the café, the bell chimes softly above me as the smell of warm vanilla and freshly baked pastries surrounds me like a hug. A few people litter around the tables, nose either buried in books, laptops or a steaming cup of coffee. I spot my friends easily amongst the quiet chaos, sitting at a booth next to the window, the unmistakable pi

  • Owned By The Irish Mafia Boss    IMPORTANT NOTICE

Hi Dear Reader 👋🏽 You've probably noticed that I've been struggling to keep a steady updating schedule these last few weeks. My older readers may be aware but I have a busy schedule. I'm a student, and I also juggle a full time job in addition to writing and while I love writing it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with my schedule. I either disappoint my readers or myself and that's something I don't want to do. Plus I've been suffering from a severe writers block. I feel like everything I write is trash and I'm not sure if my new chapters align with the story I originally intended to tell. So because of this I've decided to take a break. At least for a week. I'll try and be back once the week is over. I want to use this time to go through my notes of the story as well as re-read this book but most importantly I want to use this time to rest. I think a huge reason for my burnout is because I'm stressed. A friend advised me to take a break and she's right. I need it a

ElleZoey: *Sends a picture of Elle on the cover of New Wind Magazine* Elle, when was this?Cleo: OMG @Elle is that you?Zoey: Clearly. Unless she has a twin she never told us about.Cleo: You'd better have a good explanation for this, Annabelle.Zoey: When were you going to tell us you got engaged? I thought we were friends.Cleo: Clearly, she doesn’t see us as real friends—because no good friend would let us find out about her engagement from a magazine cover.“Elle?” Ava calls suddenly, ripping my attention from the vibrating device in my hand to the curious look on her face, “Have you been listening to anything I said?”I drop my gaze to the pictures splayed in front of me at the table. "Uhm... no, sorry" I apologise sheepishly. With the events of the weekend officially behind me and the wedding only two weeks away, Ava and I have fully entered into our wedding planning era. Ava more than me.She decided our first meeting would be held at her place since it had a bigger dining
