  FIRST DATE

  I froze in the doorway and didn’t seem to have the courage to enter. What had happened? Over two hours had passed and Vincent hadn’t forgotten the conversation we had. Was that a good sign? Maybe in the grand scheme of things it was, but at the moment, not so much.

  “Wow, you remembered me…” I said, confused.

  “Now why wouldn’t I remember my beautiful cousin?”

  Beautiful…

  His face lit up so much when he saw me and when he realized, even without memory of the two of us, that I was beautiful. My heart melted.

  “Right… Ready to go?”

  “As ready as I can be”

  A whole evening with Vincent... as my cousin. Now, how was I supposed to get close to him? The thought and the questions were killing me.
