AARON’S POV

My eyes fluttered open as I groaned in pain. A dull ache throbbed through my head while my lip burned badly. Even my nose hurt each time I inhaled.

I winced slightly and stared at the white ceiling above me in confusion before the memories came rushing back all at once.

I shut my eyes again immediately, wishing I could somehow erase every single second of what happened.

“Aaron?”

I slowly turned my head at Chloe’s voice. She was sitting beside the infirmary bed looking exhausted. Her

AARON’S POVMy eyes fluttered open as I groaned in pain. A dull ache throbbed through my head while my lip burned badly. Even my nose hurt each time I inhaled.I winced slightly and stared at the white ceiling above me in confusion before the memories came rushing back all at once.I shut my eyes again immediately, wishing I could somehow erase every single second of what happened.“Aaron?”I slowly turned my head at Chloe’s voice. She was sitting beside the infirmary bed looking exhausted. Her mascara looked slightly smudged like she’d been rubbing her eyes too much. Kyle stood near the window with his arms folded tightly across his chest. The moment Chloe noticed I was awake, relief flashed across her face instantly. “Oh thank God.”“You passed out,” Kyle muttered before walking closer. “You scared the hell out of us.”I swallowed slowly, but even that hurt.“What time is it?” I asked.“School’s over,” Chloe answered softly.I stared at the blanket covering me quietly. Then the memo

JACK’S POV I pulled the thick black jacket over my shirt carefully, trying not to put too much pressure on my injured arm. The bandage underneath still felt tight, but at least the jacket covered it properly.I grabbed my bag from the chair and checked myself briefly in the mirror. Nothing looked suspicious.Good.If this anonymous asshole thought a few stupid threats would stop me from going to school, then he was seriously mistaken.I wasn’t scared of anonymous messages. And I definitely wasn’t letting some coward control where I could or couldn’t go.I picked up my phone anyway and shoved it into my pocket before heading toward the door. Then suddenly—BANG!A loud noise echoed downstairs. I froze briefly as another bang followed immediately after.I exhaled sharply in irritation.Earlier this morning, the house had been unusually quiet. No yelling, no arguments. No sound of things breaking against walls. Honestly, the silence felt strange. Now this again.I groaned under my breat

AARON'S POVI held the folded paper tightly in my hand as I walked toward the cafeteria. My thumb rubbed slowly against the edge of it while the words inside kept replaying in my head.“Keep your eyes open, Aaron. You’re missing something obvious.”Missing what exactly? Then the signature beneath it. U.X.I still had no idea who that was supposed to be. At first, I thought it was just some stupid prank. But after seeing my locker destroyed, it didn’t feel funny anymore. Students still stared as I walked past them. Some whispered behind their hands while others laughed quietly the moment I looked in their direction.I heard the word “weirdo” again. At this point, I was starting to get used to it. I tightened my grip on the meal ticket and kept walking. The moment I stepped into the cafeteria, my eyes immediately found Kyle and Chloe sitting together at one of the tables near the center.Kyle was talking animatedly with a fork in his hand while Chloe shook her head at him with an amuse

AARON'S POV The first thing I noticed when I stepped into class was Jack’s empty seat. My eyes landed there immediately before I could stop myself. His chair at the back remained empty. His bag wasn’t there, and his hoodie wasn’t thrown carelessly over the seat like usual either.I looked away and dropped into my seat beside Kyle.“Jack skipped school?” Kyle muttered, sounding surprised.I shrugged lightly, pretending not to care. But honestly, it felt weird. After everything that happened yesterday, I expected him to show up angry. The principal’s office flashed briefly through my mind again. The way Jack stared at me after I mentioned his name. Then his threat before leaving. Part of me was still angry at him for threatening me. Another part of me kept wondering why he suddenly wasn’t here today. The classroom door opened again. My stomach flipped, thinking it was him.But it wasn’t.Vanessa Sinclair walked in instead with Emily beside her. The entire class immediately grew louder.

JACK’S POVThe moment our lips met again, I pulled him closer. My hand went to the side of his neck, steadying him before I kissed him properly, deeper this time. Aaron let out a soft moan against my lips.My other hand rested on his waist as I pulled him in until there was no space left between us.Just then—I heard footsteps. They sounded really close.I broke away instantly. So did Aaron. We both turned slightly apart at the same time, like nothing had just happened.Aaron sat still, face flushed. His lips looked slightly swollen.Mira pushed the door open a second later, looking between us immediately. She looked tense. “The manager needs you. Now. It’s urgent.”I didn’t like the sound of that. But I also didn’t ask questions.I stood.Aaron looked up at me immediately. His eyes were still soft like he hadn’t fully caught up with what just happened. His fingers had curled slightly on the edge of the chair, his lower lip was trapped between his teeth now, like he didn’t even reali

AARON'S POVBlood kept dripping slowly down Jay's arm, dark against the black sleeve of his shirt. My stomach twisted.“Jay—” I stepped closer instinctively. “You’re bleeding.”“No shit,” he muttered. The club around us was still chaotic. People shouted from the other side of the curtains while security dragged the drunk men away. Broken glass crunched under my shoes. But somehow, all I could focus on was the blood soaking Jay's shirt.Jay grabbed his sleeve tightly, jaw clenched hard like he was trying to ignore the pain.“You need to sit down,” I said quickly.“I’m fine.”“You literally got stabbed with glass.”“It barely touched me.”I stared at him. “Your arm is bleeding through your shirt.”He clicked his tongue softly, slightly irritated. “You panic too much.”Before I could reply, Mira suddenly pushed through the curtains. “What the hell happened?” Her eyes widened the moment she saw the blood. “Jesus Christ, Jay.”“I said I’m fine.”“That doesn’t look fine.” She snapped. She i
