Chapter 57 Fever

Kevin’s panicked exit only drew the curiosity out of Jenna.

She had heard that Quinn’s mother was not in the best of health. Less than two years after Quinn’s birth, his mother gave birth to a daughter.

However, the daughter was born prematurely and died before the age of one. Quinn’s mother, Scott’s second wife, did not have another child since, so Quinn was his mother’s only child.

Jenna was baffled as to who in Quinn’s family could have assaulted his brides. Not to mention, Quinn would not do anything about it.

The effects of getting her blood drawn must be hitting her again. Plus, it was close to midnight. Feeling drained and tired, Jenna retreated to the bed for sleep.

While she was deep in slumber, an unsettling sensation crept onto her as if someone was covering her nose and mouth. She was suffocating and could not breathe.

Jenna tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids refused to budge.
