CHAPTER 56

I was sitting in a single sofa while Axis was in front of me. Only the center table mediates the distance between the two of us. Obviously, we were inside his unit. I didn't know how it happened or maybe I was too pre-occupied because of what have happened earlier to the point that I didn't realize that I followed him here inside.

I remained quiet and felt like I'm totally a statue here at where I sat. I couldn't move nor I couldn't able to move. Everytime my eyes were meeting Axis' gaze, I end up looking away. Darn it! I can't look directly into his eyes.

I bit my lower lip and took a deep breath. I looked in Axis' direction again, secretly, only to notice that he's looking at me. He was leaning against the backrest of the sofa, sitting with legs crossed and was smiling broadly.

My forehead creased. "What are you looking?" I rudely asked, raising my left brow, but truth is it's my only way to hide the awkwardness I'm feeling because I don't know how to behave norm
