LOGINJuliet Pierce
I couldn’t look back. I didn’t have the strength to face him again.
What the hell is happening to me? I’m not a teenager anymore, swooning just because a man kissed me once. I’m a grown woman. Mature. Responsible… Yeah, right. Who am I trying to fool?
Noah undoes me in ways I can’t explain, and seeing him with that woman on her knees shattered something inside me.
I asked Atlas for a few minutes because I “wasn’t feeling well.” He let me go without a single question.
I ran to the locker room, sat on the bench, hugged my knees to my chest, and tried to calm my body, my mind… and whatever was happening in my heart.
Click. The lock turned.
I looked up.
There he was, those impossible green eyes fixed on me.
“Can I help you with something, Mr. Noah?” I tried to sound steady. I failed. I always fail with him.
“Why did you run out like that?”
“My job was to deliver the accessory. I did. Then I returned to my post.”
“I thought your post was the bar.”
“I wasn’t feeling well. Mr. Atlas gave me a break.” I stood and started toward the door. “But if that bothers you, I’ll get back to work.”
The second I passed him, his arm snaked around my waist and yanked me against his chest.
“It doesn’t bother me,” he growled low. “I just want to understand why.”
I tried to pull away. He didn’t let me.
One arm stayed locked around my waist. The other came up, fingers curling firmly around my throat, forcing my eyes to his.
“Mr. Noah… I need to get back to work,” I whispered.
“You will.” He pressed me tighter against him. “When I’m done with you.”
His voice was pure command. My body answered before my brain could protest—heat, shivers, weakness in my knees.
“What… what do you need me to do?” The words came out shaky, laced with something I didn’t want to name.
He growled again, deeper this time. His eyes flashed like I’d just dared him.
“I want you to stop running from me, Juliet.” His lips brushed mine, barely there. “Tonight, when I start…” His fingers gripped my chin, hard. “Stay with me until I finish.”
Then he kissed me.
No warning. No gentleness. Just raw, starving hunger.
My hands flew to his shoulders, then slid to the back of his neck, pulling him closer. His tongue claimed my mouth like he already owned it. The world disappeared—the club, the reason I was here, even my own name.
He pushed me against the wall. My body arched into him without permission. His hands burned trails down my sides until they locked around my waist, lifting me slightly off the floor.
“You’re driving me insane,” he rasped between kisses, lips moving to my neck, teeth scraping skin like he wanted to mark me. “I don’t recognize myself since the moment I saw you.”
A helpless moan escaped me. My legs shook. If he let go, I’d collapse.
“Noah…” It sounded like begging. It probably was.
He crushed his mouth to mine again, harder, possessive. One hand returned to my throat.
This time he didn’t just hold.
He squeezed.
Not brutally. Not violently. But suddenly it wasn’t Noah anymore.
It was George. The yelling. The terror. The pain that broke me.
“Stop.” My voice was too small. He didn’t hear.
“Noah, stop!”
I shoved with everything I had.
He released me instantly, stepping back, breathing hard, confusion all over his face.
I sucked in air, trying to steady the panic. My heart was racing for an entirely different reason now.
“I…” I touched my lips, still tasting him. “I can’t do this.”
“Juliet…”
“I’m not that kind of woman. I don’t know how to be.” I took another step back. “I can’t do casual, and I definitely can’t do… whatever it is you like.”
“Juliet—”
“And I know you’re not the kind of man who does relationships. At least not the kind I’d want… or maybe need.”
Silence.
I waited. Hoped. Prayed he’d say I was wrong. That he could be what I needed.
But he said nothing. Just watched me with those unreadable green eyes.
So I filled the silence myself.
“Can we just… keep things the way they are? I’m the waitress. You’re my boss.” I let out a shaky breath. “I really need this job.”
Something dark flashed across his face, but he stayed quiet.
He stepped closer, cupped my cheek, and brushed his thumb over my swollen lips.
“I have to get back to work…” I whispered.
He only nodded.
Tears welled up. I couldn’t stop them. They rolled down my cheeks before I could blink them away.
Noah wiped them gently, then dropped his hand and moved aside.
I reached the door, paused, and looked back.
“I’m sorry.”
Then I walked out.
Outside, I leaned against the closed door. My hands shook. My chest ached.
I don’t know what I feel for Noah. I just know it’s too much.
And after seeing him with that woman… After his silence when I needed words…
One thing is crystal clear.
Whatever this feeling is, I have to bury it.
Juliet PierceI tried to pretend Noah’s presence didn’t affect me. I kept laughing with Atlas and Declan, kept the mood light. But I felt his eyes on me the whole time, and the tension rolling off him every time I spoke to Atlas, especially Atlas, was impossible to miss. When Declan asked for my help with spreadsheets, I almost said no. Extra money is always welcome, but working at the company again meant facing Noah in his own territory. Atlas gave me that encouraging smile and little nod, so I said yes. Great. Now I’d spend the entire weekend dreading Monday.Atlas had to leave suddenly. I noticed the urgency, but didn’t pry. I made a mental note to text him later to check if everything was okay.Declan offered to walk me out. Noah decided otherwise. Just like that, as if my opinion didn’t matter. And in the end, it didn’t.We got into his car. He asked for my address. I didn’t want him driving me to the subway, let alone all the way home. I’d already had enough Noah Blake for one a
Noah BlakeI went after Juliet. We kissed again, harder, deeper, like the world was ending. Then, at the peak of it, she told me to stop. I saw it in her eyes: she was waiting for me to say something, anything, that proved I could give her what she “wants and needs.” But I can’t. So I said nothing.I locked myself in my club office and watched her on the monitors all night. Those eyes don’t just call to me; they speak. And still, I can’t give in.She says she can’t be the kind of woman I like. Truth is, she’s exactly the kind I want… and apparently the only one I can’t have.Saturday came. I had to go to the office; I really do need an assistant. The France trip is in ten days. Declan came to help, and like every Saturday we decided to grab lunch together. He called Atlas to join us.“He’s taking Ju to lunch,” Declan told me on the phone. My blood turned to fire.We walked into the restaurant we always go to, and there they were. She was laughing, wine glass in hand, looking more beau
Chapter 17 – CoincidenceJuliet PierceI dragged myself through the rest of the night. Noah disappeared into his office and never came out, at least not while I was still there. Samy and Penelope kept asking what happened, but I wasn’t ready to talk. How do you explain that you were stupid enough to fall for a man after one kiss… and that the man is completely out of reach?I had promised Atlas I’d help with the finances of his mom’s store. We agreed to meet at lunch. I woke up, soaked up every second with my babies, left them with Celeste, and headed to Brookfield Place.I’d never been there before, so I texted Atlas to meet me at the entrance. The second I arrived, there he was.“Ju…”“Good afternoon, Mr. Atlas,” I smiled. “And please, just Atlas from now on.”“Atlas it is.”He flashed that easy smile and led me inside. The store was on the second floor. He explained he was keeping it closed because he was selling it. He handed me the files, and within seconds I was lost in numbers,

Chapter 15 – Can I Help You?Noah BlakeEver since the interview, Juliet hasn’t left my head for a single second. The urge to go back, to call her and say “yes, the job is yours” has been eating me alive. But she has kids. And kids complicate everything.I need an assistant who’s available 24/7—in every possible way. No conflicts, no emergencies, no divided loyalties. The CEO of Blake Investments needs someone who puts the job first. And that’s exactly what Juliet is… except I know damn well that if it ever came down to choosing between serving me and her children, her children would win every single time. The week at the office was pure chaos, mostly because Reed wouldn’t shut up about how stupid I was for letting her go.“She’s perfect, man.” “Look at this résumé.” “She speaks fluent French.” “Blake, she’s literally perfect for you!”By Friday night I was done listening.I didn’t want to see her at the club. Not yet. Then an old submissive showed up, and I needed to blow off steam.
Chapter 14 – SpellboundJuliet PierceThe week flew by in a blur. No job. No new interviews. But I still had the club, and the money Atlas pays is more than enough to keep us afloat for now. After my almost-accident, I didn’t see Chris again. And honestly? I thanked the heavens for that. After the way he looked at me, the way he spoke… Forget it, Juliet. You already have enough problems, and one of them is almost six-foot-four, built like steel, with eyes that burn straight through you and a mouth… God, what is happening to me?“Ju?!” Samy called from the living room.“Bedroom!”“Wow!” She stopped dead in the doorway. “You look stunning! Loving the makeup and those earrings.”“I officially retired the mask. Looks like this waitress gig is going to last longer than I thought.”“For me it can last forever,” Samy laughed. “What Atlas pays us in one night is almost what we made in three with Ed.”“True. And since single moms apparently don’t stand a chance in this city…” I let the frustra
