Chapter 7 Belle Again

By the time Grayson arrived at the hospital, June was no longer in a critical condition.

She lay on the bed, her eyes red and swollen from crying.

"What happened?" Grayson asked.

Grabbing his arm, June sobbed, "It's Belle! It's all because of Belle! Grayson, I don't want to live anymore."

Grayson looked at June's hand gripping his wrist. Frowning, he pried her hand away before asking, "What exactly happened?"

June was already upset. When she saw Grayson rejecting her touch, she got even more upset.

She decided to blame everything on Belle.

She said accusingly, "I completed the discharge procedures today. But Belle suddenly came rushing up to me. She started showing off her marriage certificate.

"She even called me a homewrecker. She said she wanted to get someone to kill me!"

Grayson's expression darkened upon hearing that.

Belle again!

He never had a peaceful day in his life ever since she appeared.

June asked pitifully, "Grayson, did you really marry her?"

Grayson replied, "That's between me and her. It has nothing to do with you. I'll teach her a lesson so she won't mess with you again.

"Also, don't get so depressed that you'd do things like this again."

When June heard that the marriage certificate was real, her heart broke into pieces.

She refused to accept the truth. She said pitifully, "How can you marry her, Grayson? What's so good about her other than her looks? She's just a country bumpkin. She doesn't deserve you. She—"

When June met Grayson's displeased gaze, she dared not continue.

Grayson had already said she had nothing to do with the matter between him and Belle. In other words, she had no right to interfere.

June felt extremely upset. She changed the topic.

"Grayson, when Belle left, she said she would find someone to deal with me. I'm so scared. Can you stay here tonight to keep me company?"

Grayson nodded.

June immediately felt much better, thinking, "So what if they're married? Grayson loves me more!"

Belle must be pissed if she had to spend the wedding night alone. June's mood lifted when she imagined Belle getting furious.

But it didn't last long. The sun had just set when Grayson received a call from Finneas.

"Gray, I didn't care if you got involved with some random woman in the past. You weren't married then. But now, you're someone's husband. Watch yourself!"

Grayson frowned. "But Grandpa, June—"

"Don't ever mention her name to me!" Finneas cut him off.

Then, he said, "Remember our promise. You have to share a room with Belle after you get married. With every night you're away from her, I'll add another year to your marriage!"

With that, Finneas hung up unhappily.

Grayson felt a headache coming as he stared at his phone.

At first, he was forced to agree to a marriage with Belle. But it came with a condition. They would only be married for two years.

If after two years he hadn't fallen for Belle, they would file for a divorce.

Finneas also added some extra terms. One of it being Grayson had to share a room with Belle for two years. Every night they slept separately, their marriage term would extend by a year.

Grayson sighed inwardly.

Putting away his phone, he looked at June and said, "I must go. Take care and rest well. With me around, Belle wouldn't dare to get anyone to attack you."

Grayson left right after that. June was so pissed that she almost ripped the bedsheets!

She had to teach Belle a serious lesson, or her anger would never be soothed.

So, she picked up her phone and dialed a number.

"... 200 thousand dollars. Do your worst. If anything happens, I'll take responsibility …"
