“What the hell?” Adriana’s voice sliced through the air as she stormed toward the door, the click of her steps echoing like gunshots across the marble floor.

Standing just beyond the glass was Antonio, tall and composed in a charcoal suit, his usual smugness hidden behind a mask of unreadable calm. Behind him, six men in black stood stiffly.

Adriana's heart kicked against her ribs. “What are you doing here?” she hissed the moment the door swung open. “How did you even find us?” she added.

Antonio's gaze flicked past her shoulder for a brief moment, then locked onto her eyes. “I couldn’t wait any longer, Adriana,” he said smoothly, his voice deep and unbothered. “Will you let me in—or is your husband afraid I’ll rattle your picture-perfect world?”

The jab was sharp, but before Adriana could snap back, a familiar presence stepped up behind her.

“Your guards wait outside,” Eros said calmly, but there was an edge to his voice. Cold. Controlled. Dangerous.

Antonio gave a curt nod, without

Adriana sat still, her body stiff as Eros’ lips pressed softly against hers. His kiss was gentle—unrushed, searching. But she didn’t kiss him back, as her arms hung at her sides like dead weight, her expression unreadable. Sensing her lack of response, Eros slowly pulled away, his eyes scanning her face for a sign, for anything. “What was that for?” Adriana asked, with one brow lifting sceptically. “A thank-you kiss,” Eros replied, his voice casual, light—too light for the heaviness in the room. “Don’t act like you hated it,” he added. Adriana didn’t answer. Instead, her eyes dropped to their hands. His fingers were still loosely intertwined with hers. “You’ve been holding my hand too much lately,” she muttered, her hands slightly pulling away. “We have to look real, remember? Especially with him downstairs watching us like a hawk.” Eros grinned, trying to defuse the tension. Adriana gave him a tired look. “I’m starting to get tired of the whole plan, Eros. This revenge thing…

As the early morning sunlight slipped through the gaps in the curtains across the room, Adriana stirred, her bare skin still nestled against the warmth of Eros’ body. With Eros' arm still draping over her back like a possessive shield, his muscles were relaxed but still strong enough to keep her from slipping away.Adriana wriggled gently, trying not to wake him. “Mmh,” Eros hummed lowly, tightening his grip and pulling her closer beneath the duvet. “Where do you think you're going, sweetheart?” he muffled against her hair.Adriana stifled a laugh, resting her cheek on his chest, where she could feel the steady thrum of his heart. “So you’re really fond of pretending to sleep with your eyes shut, huh?” she teased, tracing lazy circles on his skin with her finger.Eros' lips curved in a sleepy smile. “I’m not pretending. I just don’t want to open my eyes and find you gone,” he muttered. Then, Adriana paused, her lips masked with a playful scoff. “Open those blue eyes already,” she whis

Adriana didn’t stop him. She gave in and melted into the kiss for a heartbeat before her hands pressed lightly against his chest. But instead of pushing him away, she curled her fingers into the fabric of his shirt, gripping him tighter.Breathless, they broke apart only for a second, their foreheads touching, their eyes locked.“I’m sorry,” Eros whispered again, this time so close that Adriana could feel the warmth of his breath on her lips. But Adriana didn't reply with words. She kissed him again, her lips staying on his, her breath mingling with his, as her back met the door behind her with a soft thud.Eros didn’t pause even for a heartbeat. His mouth moulded against hers, kissing her like he’d waited a thousand days for this moment. One of his hands slid around her waist, pulling her impossibly close, his fingers exploring the dip of her back with reverent urgency. The kiss deepened, and Adriana’s hands tangled in his hair, tugging slightly as if to keep him tethered there, just

Antonio brushed past Eros without a word as he approached the door. Neither of them looked at each other; they didn’t need to.Adriana's eyes tracked his chiselled figure until he vanished from sight, but the ache he left didn’t leave; it only shifted.Slowly, she turned to Eros, who stood motionless by the door, with his arms folded across his chest and jaw clenched tight.“You’ve been quiet since he got here,” she said, her voice low as she moved to sit beside Tessa and brushed her hair gently with her fingers.Eros didn’t move. His eyes stayed fixed ahead, and his voice came out tight, laced with some resentment. “What would you have me say, Adriana? That it’s fine? That it doesn’t tear me apart seeing him in the room with us?” he said, and then paused.“He’s the biological father, Adriana. And now… I get to see his face in my home soon. That's reality, isn't it?” He continued, shaking his head.Adriana stood up slowly and walked toward him. “I didn’t give him free entry into our l

Adriana’s hands trembled as her thumb hovered over Antonio’s name in her contact list, her chest tightening with every breath.Eros stood a few feet behind her in the corridor, watching her with quiet intensity. He knew this moment would come. He had imagined it in his head countless times—Antonio finding out the truth about his twins he never existed. But he never expected it to be so soon.Adriana pressed the call button. The phone rang once and then twice, her heart pounding louder with each passing second. Then, the call was finally answered. “Well, well. What a great surprise, darling ex-wife.” Antonio’s voice came smooth and amused.Adriana swallowed hard. “This isn’t the time to joke around, Tonio,” she said in a cracked voice, and there was a paisley“You sound... off. What’s going on? Did you just call me Tonio?” Antonio said, with a slight shift in his tone.Adriana’s throat tightened. “It’s Tessa. My daughter, your daughter.” Her voice broke, and she gasped for breath as th
