“What the hell?” Adriana’s voice sliced through the air as she stormed toward the door, the click of her steps echoing like gunshots across the marble floor.

Standing just beyond the glass was Antonio, tall and composed in a charcoal suit, his usual smugness hidden behind a mask of unreadable calm. Behind him, six men in black stood stiffly.

Adriana's heart kicked against her ribs. “What are you doing here?” she hissed the moment the door swung open. “How did you even find us?” she added.

Antonio's gaze flicked past her shoulder for a brief moment, then locked onto her eyes. “I couldn’t wait any longer, Adriana,” he said smoothly, his voice deep and unbothered. “Will you let me in—or is your husband afraid I’ll rattle your picture-perfect world?”

The jab was sharp, but before Adriana could snap back, a familiar presence stepped up behind her.

“Your guards wait outside,” Eros said calmly, but there was an edge to his voice. Cold. Controlled. Dangerous.

Antonio gave a curt nod, without

Six long months went by, and Adriana had become the anchor of both her company and Antonio’s by balancing her responsibilities as a mother, a businesswoman, and a woman still clinging to hope.Exactly on a Friday evening, she arrived at the hospital again with Hardin and Tessa right beside her. They climbed onto her lap as she sat beside Antonio’s bed, staring at his peaceful but unmoving face.“I really miss Daddy, Mommy,” Tessa whispered again sadly as she played with the bedsheet.Adriana forced a smile. “I know, baby. He misses us too. He can hear you, sweetheart. Tell him everything you want to say, just like always.”“Will you wake up now, Daddy?” Hardin said the same words he’d been repeating during the past visits.Adriana sighed and reached for Antonio’s hand instead. “I love you so much, and we've all really missed you. Please, come back to us, Tonio,” she whispered sadly.Right then, as if heaven had finally heard them, Antonio’s finger suddenly twitched. Adriana saw this,

Since Eros used a silencer, no one knew what he had done inside the house. He simply walked away from the crime scene and drove straight back to his mansion. The moment he arrived, he picked up his iPad and began recording a live video.“Hello, peeps,” he started, his vision slightly blurry. “Because of some personal issues, I won’t be able to manage my company in California anymore. So I’m transferring all my company shares to Abby—my loyal business partner who helped fight for the company in the first place.” He lifted a document as proof of the transfer, then ended the live stream.Within a minute, millions had already viewed it.Smirking wickedly, he walked to his bar and continued drinking. He didn’t need anyone to tell him; he knew his time in this world already felt over. But despite this, he had no intention of turning himself in.“”””Back in California, Abby stared at the video with her mouth hanging open. With so much profit now within reach, she didn’t care why Eros had gi

A week had passed, and Antonio hadn’t woken up from the coma. For the entire week, Adriana refused to go to work, let alone continue the project. Exactly on a fresh Monday morning, the assassin in police custody finally confessed after days of interrogation and torture. With proof of the half-payment Eros had sent him now revealed, Adriana insisted on following the cops to arrest the mastermind. When they arrived at his penthouse, the officers asked Adriana and her bodyguards to stay back while they went inside to search. Adriana obeyed for her own safety as she waited anxiously in her car. A few minutes later, the cops marched out, looking visibly frustrated. Adriana immediately stepped out of the car. “Where is he?” she demanded, impatience brimming in her tone. “He seems to have fled, ma’am. The entire penthouse is empty,” the detective replied. Adriana almost lost her balance as the words hit her. Her eyes fluttered rapidly, and she swallowed hard before speaking. “He can’t go

The gunshot was silent. No one but Adriana heard it, as her eyes caught the flash after hearing her name. Right immediately, her heart stopped. “Tonio!” she screamed into the microphone, her voice echoing across the hall, making every head turn toward the commotion. With panic surging through her veins, she tore off the microphone and tried to run towards him. But before she could take more than a few steps, the assassin yanked the silencer off his gun and fired into the air. The loud crack of the gunshot split the room like thunder, screams filling the hall as guests ducked for cover while security guards rushed forward. Before Adriana could reach Antonio, two of her guards caught her by the arms, pulling her back to safety. “I'll shoot him again if anyone dares to move!" The gunman shouted, his weapon now aimed directly at Antonio, who was kneeling on the floor and clutching his bleeding chest. “No!” Adriana cried, struggling against the guards, her voice breaking with raw terror

Monday morning arrived—long-awaited, yet strangely heavy. Adriana woke up with a weight in her chest instead of excitement, even though it was supposed to be a big day. After finishing her morning routine, she went downstairs to find her twins already at the dining table, eating and chatting softly between bites. Once breakfast was done, she walked them out and watched as the car took them to school, their small waves from the back seat lingering in her mind long after they disappeared down the street. Her driver took her next, pulling up to her company’s glass-front building. There, she saw Antonio stepping out of his car at the exact same moment she did. Their eyes met just for a few seconds—hers, unreadable, his, full of unspoken regret. But then, she turned away, walking briskly into the building without a single word. Antonio exhaled a deep sigh, watching her disappear through the glass doors before following behind. He had planned to talk to her—but not this early. Not when he

“Tonio!” Adriana screamed, disbelief and confusion flooding her voice as Steve staggered backward. “You don’t have to believe whatever that bastard said,” Antonio snapped, his head lowering toward hers. “Really?” Steve cut in, straightening as he wiped the blood from his lip. “Then just ask him, Riana,” he said, his eyes piercing hers with a persuasive calm. “Stop calling her that!” Antonio barked, his fists tightening at his sides. “Well, I do have to know why you wanted to get close to me in the first place,” Adriana shot back, her voice sharp and trembling with anger. Antonio froze, his face tightening like someone terrified to revisit the past. “Did you…” she began, her voice cracking. “...did you really make a bet with Eros about winning me back?” Her hazel eyes searched his, as she trembled while demanding the truth. Antonio swallowed hard, his throat burning as he met her gaze in silence. “Answer me, Antonio,” Adriana whispered, her tone coming out quieter, but still fi
