~ZAYDEN

I had just gotten to the mall with the kids, and they were waiting for me to unlock the car doors when my phone rang.

My first instinct was to ignore the call, since I had decided to dedicate this time to my kids. But because I was curious to know who was calling me when I was most definitely off work, I glanced at the phone.

And a huge wave of surprise hit me when I saw Dahlia's name as the contact ID. Of all the calls I was and was not expecting, her name was definitely not on the list.

She had refused to come with us when I asked, and we left home not quite long ago. For Dahlia to go as far as calling me when she knew we would be home in a few hours, there had to be a solid reason for it.

"Let's go, daddy," Ava stated from the back seat of the car, her voice all jiggly with excitement. I turned around to face them both.

"In a moment, love. Let daddy pick this call, and then we'll go," I said in the most reassuring

~DAHLIAI had no idea where I was. One minute, I was in the kitchen, about to make some food for my kids. And the next minute, someone was folding an handkerchief over my face.I didn't recall passing out or losing unconsciousness, but when my eyes fluttered open, when all I could see, all I could feel was the blindfold against my face, preventing me from seeing anything, I knew something was wrong. Someone seemed to have kidnapped me. My hands were tied behind my back, and the chair I was sitting on was very uncomfortable. Fear wrapped its cold, clammy hands around my neck, and it was taking all of my willpower to remind myself to breathe. "Hello? Is anyone there?" I called out, my voice coming out choked as I tried not to let my fear obvious. No one answered me. Before I could speak again, something started to vibrate against my leg. It was my phone. It had been in my pocket before the horror s

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   You will never find them

~ZAYDEN"You're here. Standing before me with your guards. Your intention was to have me arrested because you thought I was the one threatening your kids. But you see, I am not. Whoever it is that you're looking for is smart. They gave you a clear target. I mean, it made sense for me to be the suspect. I have always been a danger to you, right? But think about it, Zayden. You're here. You're standing before me. Dahlia is left with the kids. Do you think she will be able to protect them, if something were to happen to them right now?"Edda's words were like bullets. They landed against my skin and tore holes in my soul. Her words reverberated in my head, and my mind replayed them over and over until it was all I could hear. She was right. By the moon, Edda was right.Coming here to find her was a wild goose chase, it had been a distraction. I should be with Dahlia and the kids right now. I shouldn't be here. This was

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   A wild goose chase

~EDDAI was asleep when my house got invaded. The sound of my door crashing down was what woke me from my boredom induced sleep, and I was still trying to figure out if this was a dream when a strong arm yanked me out of my bed with a grip harsh enough to make my arm bruised. My eyes flew open, and I gasped when I came face to face with tall, large and burly men sneering down at me. A slight trickle of fear ran down my spine. "Get up," one of them snapped.I scooted farther away from them, my heart hammering loudly against my chest. "Who are you guys? What are you doing in my house?" I asked, managing to keep my voice from trembling. None of them answered my question, and my wolf was whimpering in fear of these men who looked like they could snap me in two with their hands. "Carry her out," the man who spoke earlier ordered, and before I could stop them, the man closest to me grabbed me and threw

~ZAYDEN"Dahlia. I promise you, nothing is going to happen to the kids. I'll find out whoever sent those damned dolls, and I'll deal with them. Please stop...just...take a deep breath."Dahlia raised red rimmed, puffy eyes to me. It has been hours since we got the package, and even though I have had it burned, my mate was still sobbing hysterically. "How? I can't...I don't want to take a deep breath, Zayden. This are my kids we are talking about. I...my babies...I don't want anything to happen to them."I moved closer to Dahlia. She was sitting on the couch now, her back was hunched with fear and grief. Very gently, I started to pat her on the back. "I promise, nothing is going to happen to them. I swear this to you on my life."My words seemed to have an effect on her. She stared at me for a long, tense moment, her pain filled eyes boring into mine. "Do you mean that? That you swear on your life? You would rather sac

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   The Package

~DAHLIA"Daddy wants to take us shopping!" Ava stated as she ran into my room, and I smiled at the sheer happiness I spied on my daughter's face. I sat up, reaching out to pull her into a hug."Daddy's taking you shopping?" I repeated as she snuggled into my chest. My daughter nodded, and I patted her back gently. "When?" I asked. "When he comes back from his meeting, he said."The excitement was obvious in Ava's voice, and while I was happy to see her happy, there was a part of me that still held on to my resentment for Zayden. "Will you come with us, mummy?" my daughter twisted her head to meet my gaze as she asked, and I felt a small twinge of guilt at her question.I didn't want to spend any time with Zayden more than I had to, yet if my kids wanted me to go shopping with them, who was I to say no?Before I could say anything though, my door slammed open and Axel raced in.
