The pain was blinding. Valeria screamed as another brutal contraction tore through her body. She was lying on the emergency bed they had prepared in the master bedroom of the safe house. Sweat ran down her forehead and her brown hair clung to her pale skin.

"Push, Elena!" ordered Dr. Ruiz with a firm voice. "The first one is coming!"

Lucas Montenegro tightly held his sister's hand, his face tense but resolute. He never imagined he would reveal his identity in the midst of such chaos.

Valeria returned to work three days later, still with dark circles under her eyes but with a smile she couldn't hide. The triplets were already home, recovered and more mischievous than ever. That morning, while organizing Damien's schedule, Alessandro appeared at her desk with two coffees in hand."Good morning, Elena," he said with that deep voice that now gave her butterflies. "I thought you would need this."Valeria looked up, surprised. Alessandro never brought coffee. Never."Thank you..." she accepted the cup, brushing his fingers on purpose. The contact was brief, but enough for both of them to feel the electricity. "How did you know I like cappuccino with cinnamon?""I pay attention," he replied simply, leaning on the edge of her desk. His gaze was warmer, less like an iceberg. "How are the children?""Exhausting," Valeria laughed. "Last night Liam decided that 3 a.m. was the perfect time to practice crawling all over the living room. Ethan followed him and Anastasia just che

The following days at the hospital were a strange mix of exhaustion and something new that Valeria didn't dare to name. Anastasia improved notably, and the twins were already almost recovered. Rosa had become a constant and affectionate presence, and Francesca Rossi spent every afternoon bringing gifts and homemade food.Valeria was sitting by the window, nursing Anastasia, when Alessandro appeared at the door. He wore a dark suit but had loosened his tie, as if he had come directly after a meeting."Good afternoon," he greeted with that deep voice that was already familiar to her."Hello..." Valeria replied, blushing slightly at being seen in such an intimate position. "The children are much better. Thanks to you and your family."Alessandro entered and approached, stopping at a respectful distance. His eyes softened upon seeing the little girl in her arms."I'm glad to hear that. And you? Have you been able to rest?""A little," she admitted with a tired smile. "Rosa is an angel. Sh

The soft afternoon light entered through the windows of the hospital room, tinting everything in a warm golden hue. Valeria was sitting next to one of the cribs, while Alessandro stood very close to her, still with Liam asleep against his chest. The air between them felt charged, different."I never imagined I would see you holding a baby," Valeria murmured with a small smile, looking at him out of the corner of her eye.Alessandro looked down at Liam and then up at her. For the first time, his expression held no trace of his usual coldness. His dark blue eyes lingered on Valeria's lips for a second longer than necessary."There are many things you don't imagine about me," he replied in a low, almost hoarse voice.Valeria felt her heart racing. They were too close. She could smell his cologne, see the slight movement of his jaw and how his gaze softened when he looked at her. Alessandro tilted his head slightly towards her, as if an invisible force was pulling them together. Valeria d

The drive back to the hospital was strangely silent, but not uncomfortable. Valeria sat in the passenger seat of Alessandro's Mercedes, wearing the soft gray outfit he had bought for her. She smelled of soap and new clothes, and for the first time in many hours she felt a little more human."Thanks again," she said quietly, looking out the window. "You didn't have to do all this."Alessandro kept his eyes on the road, but his hands relaxed on the steering wheel."It was nothing," he replied with his deep tone, though not as cold anymore. "You couldn't go on like that."When they arrived at the room, the panorama was completely different from the chaos of the early morning. Francesca Rossi rocked Anastasia tenderly while singing softly to her. Rosa held Liam in her arms, giving him a bottle, and Ethan slept peacefully in his little crib."Look who's back!" Francesca exclaimed with a radiant smile upon seeing them enter together. "Elena, dear, you look much better."Valeria blushed deep

Alessandro Rossi had grown up in a very different family from Valeria's. His parents, Giorgio and Francesca Rossi, were a loving and understanding couple who always prioritized the emotional well-being of their only son. Giorgio, a successful retired businessman, and Francesca, an elegant society woman with a huge heart, had raised Alessandro with discipline but also with a lot of affection. They never demanded perfection of him, only that he be a good man. However, his love life had been a disaster. His ex-girlfriend, Isabella Conti, was a beautiful but extremely obsessive woman. After two years of relationship, Alessandro left her because her jealousy and control became unbearable. Isabella hadn't accepted it and still pursued him with messages and unexpected appearances. That morning, after the call, Alessandro couldn't concentrate. He decided to go to the hospital personally. When he reached the pediatrics hallway, he saw his mother Francesca talking to Rosa at the door of the roo

I was sitting between the three cribs in the hospital observation room, with puffy eyes and an aching body. Liam and Ethan were dozing restlessly, but Anastasia was still breathing somewhat heavily. I was holding my daughter's hand in mine when I heard firm footsteps approaching down the hallway.A woman of about sixty-five appeared at the door. She was short, stout, with gray hair tied in a perfect bun and brown eyes full of warmth. She carried a large travel bag and wore a resolute but kind expression."Miss Elena Vargas?" she asked with a soft but confident voice.I nodded, confused."Yes... that's me."The woman smiled tenderly and walked in, setting the bag on a chair."I am Rosa, Alessandro Rossi's nana. He sent me here to help you. Don't worry, I'm here now."I was speechless. Alessandro had really sent someone. And not just anyone... his own nana.Rosa approached Anastasia first, touching her forehead with expert delicacy."Poor thing... she has a fever, but it's under control
