CHAPTER NINE

Zelda pulled her into a hug. Amelia snuggled into her 19 year old sister,her mind in chaos.

"Tomorrow,let's go for a test sis,lets be sure,"

"Okay,"

"Amelia,you are not alone, okay? " zelda spoke affectionately, and a voice with a kind of comfortable only family could provide.

"I am scared. I don't know what to do if it comes out positive. "

Zelda patted her.

"When we find out,we would know what to do." Amelia only stared. With trembling hands,she hugged her sister

Meanwhile,at Roman's residence.

He sat in his large living room,he was using his iPad

"Food is ready, sir." His cook,Mrs. Franklin spoke softly, standing beside him.

"Okay, thanks"

Meanwhile,Carolina sashayed herself into the sitting room.

Roman raised his head when he heard her high-pitched voice.

She rushed to hug him. He froze. This was not the first time there were hugging,heck, they had kissed before, but right now,it simply did not feel right.

"I am sorry for leaving like that yesterday."

"It's fine,babe."

She caressed his face softly, leaning in to place a kiss on his lip. He turned sideways, letting the kiss land perfectly on the cheeks.

She frowned,trying not to snap. "Babe?"

"I just dont feel right. I will be back." He quickly stood up,rushing upstairs before she could say anything.

He needed to get his shit together.

He slammed his door and stood behind it.

Why was Amelia in his head,He wanted to see her so badly.

Maybe ask how she was,or just see her face.

He sat down on the bed wondering if he was betraying Carolina by thinking so much about another woman.

8 years ago,he was driving back from town at night with his sister,juli, in the passenger seat. It was raining,they were driving on a bridge when another car swerved, causing Roman to react quickly and avoid collision.

Their car had crashed through the bridge,falling into the water.They landed near the riverbank, Miraculously.

His sister screamed, and the voice still echoed in his head whenever he recalled what happened.

Juli survived the impact but was trapped at the back seat,blood gushing out of her forehead.

Roman managed to get out,eyes blurry. He was bleeding badly,he tried to help his sister out, but he was losing consciousness.

On the river bank end,Amelia, who was returning from work and had come to clear her head. She sighted the car turned upside down.Panic made her breathe itch. Without thinking,she rushed towards it,seeing juli inside unconscious.

She helped juli out of the car,without knowing who she was.

Then she looked back to see Roman far away,slipping into the water,using her little strength to help him towards the shore.

Roman looked worse than juli. She screamed out for help as she sighted people coming.

She pressed down his tummy for a few minutes before Roman coughed out.

Still fuzzy,she stepped back, rushing to juli, who was still bleeding. People had begun to gather.

With blurry eyes,Roman held her hand weakly.

"Thank..you-"

He said,tears filled eyes, Juliana and Roman were rushed into a car.

People thanked her,but she was barely responsive,just exhausted.

She fell down, losing consciousness. But the car had left,so she was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Carolina somehow found Roman's wallet and suitcase.It had floated to another part of town.

"You... saved me?"

She froze but didn't correct him.His grandma also assumed caro saved her son so she didn't object.

Juli was really traumatized,she remembered a lady pulling her from water, but because she was disoriented and frightened, she didn't remember the lady's face..

Roman thought it was Carolina who saved him. Amelia doesn't remember. The incident was completely wiped out of her memory.

Back to the present,Roman sighed. He felt a strong pull towards amelia but at the same time..guilt.

After the incident,he got her a job,then later a gig through his connection, helping her get fame. Like she always wanted.

But then,she wanted more. Marriage and he had logically thought it was the best thing to do.

He found Carolina caring and kind, only if he knew what she was,a great pretender.

He sighed, making up his mind to stop thinking about Amelia.

She was just a phase. The one night stand meant nothing.

He tried convincing himself as he walked downstairs, slowly taking his time

He sighted Carolina on the dining table

"Shirley!" She barked Mrs. Franklin's name made him frown.

"Ma."

Roman's breath itch when Carolina poured the cold juice over his housekeeper's head.

"Were you deaf! I told you to get me iced orange juice!" Carolina spoke rudely, staring at her like she was dirt.

"Carolina!" Roman cold voice made her froze. She turned slowly,"your maid is so incompetent!"

"Carolina,what you just did,it's wrong! Mrs, Franklin is family,not just a maid!" Carolina froze, this was the first time Roman was yelling at her so angrily.

She glaced at mrs. Franklin, apologizing, then turned sweetly facing Roman.

He stared at Carolina, wondering why she was always acting this way.

Sometimes nice,other times,she acted like a bitch.

"I am sorry babe,I was just stressed and took it out on her." She pouted.

His hand reluctantly held her as he muttered.

"Its fine,just learn to respect people." She nodded.

"I will take you to see Grandma later today." She smiled widely.

"Okay baby,"

When Amelia returned from the clinic,the doctor's word echoed in her ears.

"You are 1 week pregnant, stay away from stress, and eat more. "

She had burst into tears there. She wasn't crying because of the pregnancy.

. She was a virgin until the night she had sex with Roman.

She was pregnant with Roman's Voss's child.
