CHAPTER TEN

"You were with Amelia that night,"

"Yes, sir, but I only asked her..to help me,"

"You are stuttering," Roman Voss simply said,his hands wrapped around the drink served.

"And I know you are lying,"

Ria froze at the statement.

She had come to serve them in the vvip,and they requested for her in particular..

She first thought the people were interested in her.

But it was Roman Voss!

She had summoned a bit of confidence, and she catwalked towards him,the menu in her hand shaking terribly.

She greeted, and before she could ask..

He shunned her.

"Why did you poison my grandma?"

She stepped back,his intensity of his voice making her leg shake.

She breathes deeply.

"I dont know what you are talking about, sir,"

Roman Voss stared at her.

He wondered why he was here,he could have done it the Voss way.

Capture her.

Torture her till she confessed, but somehow,he recalled Amelia's situation and how she still looked at him like he was a monster.

It hurt him so deeply that he looked away from her.

Then he spoke with a threatening voice

"I am going to fucking kill you if I find out you poisoned my grandma. Pray the evidence doesn't point towards you,else..!"

She gulped as he walked out of the restaurant with his fist clenched.

Ria hurriedly removed her apron and rushed into the toilet.

She took her phone breathlessly dialing a number.

"Hello,Roman Voss was here and he threatened me."

"I already told you not to call me! I payed you your money!"

"I know ma,but I am scared. He was really angry,i-"

The caller hung up.

"Hello?Hello?"

"She dared to cut the call on me?" Ria angrily screamed before walking out.

Meanwhile,Roman walked into the hospital.

He paused at the door to his grandma's ward hearing sounds.

"Mother,Roman still dislikes you,dont do what will make him hate you even more."

"I know,but we need to get that bitch from his life."

"Mum,you haven't met her,beside,he is marrying Carolina, be rest assured."

"people like her like to leach off from the rich! Thank God I never met her,and its because your brother told me to stay away.."

He pushed the door open.

They both froze.

"What would you have done if you meet her?"

His mother quickly rose,her hands shaking as she stepped back.

"We were just discussing something son"

"I am not your son!how many times do I have to warn you! Stay out of my business!"

"Dont raise your voice,grandma is resting!" Juliana spoke quietly stepping towards him.

"Nothing must happen to amelia,or else,mother,I wouldn't take it lightly with you!"

She stared at him,then turned to grandma pia who was slowly walking up.

"Grandma,how do you feel now?"

"A bit better,Roman,come here."

She beckoned on him to step closer and he did.

He softly held her hands.

"Grandma,are you hungry"

"No dear,I just want to see Amelia."

He froze as he heard what she said.

"But grandma-"

"Please,she is a nice girl,she won't refuse."

"Okay,I will bring her soon" grandma pia smiled widely.

His mother and juli stared at them,both annoyed over Amelia's name popping up in the conversation.

"I hate her,she is the reason grandma is here!"

Juli yelled angrily walking out.

Grandma only shook her head,then turned to Roman.

"Now,i feel hungry" he chuckled as he stood,"I will her you something"

He walked out as his mother and grandma began to discuss..

He had given Damien,his right hand man,a day off to focus on the case but he still hadn't gotten any info..

He knew Ria wasnt the real culprit,she was used.

But whoever had done this had carefully planned it but he was going to find the bastard.

His phone rang, and he saw the name.

Doc Steve. The doctor in charge of Amelia's mother.

"Hello,any update."

"Yes sir,she is recovering well,thanks to you."

He nodded even though he knew the doc could not see him.

"I will come visit soon."

"Okay sir." He hung up,he had been tempted to ask if amelia visits always or had started working but he held back.

He didnt know why but he was nervous about meeting her again.

He has a crush on her.

Tiny but there,his heart warmed up when he saw her awake at the hospital. And now,he badly wanted to see her.

A message entered his phone.

'Baby,I am ready to see Grandma again,when do i come?"

Carolina had been calling him all day but he didnt feel the need to answer.

He simply ignored driving out of the hospital

Meanwhile,amelia walked into her mother's ward.

Mrs. hale sat,her lips chapped, a different tube connected to her.

She looked better,at least, amelia thought, sitting down.

"Amelia,how are you doing?"

"Mum,I am fine,focus on getting better."

"You look different, more thinner, and I dont like.. that"

She faked a smile,so widely.Would her mother notice her pregnancy?it was almost 2 weeks, but her mother might know, so she quickly spoke.

"I had a fever some days ago,but I am fine now, mum."

She stared at her daughter.

"You and Zelda are the best thing to ever happen to me. Thank you for not abandoning me,"

"Mum,you dont need to thank me. You took care of us since you took us in. it's our turn now." She smiled and pulled amelia into an affectionate hug.

Amelia's phone tinged, and she brought out her phone from her back pocket.

'Stay away from Roman,or you won't like what might happen.'

Her heart beat raced.
