Chapter 10: Reckless Fun

Jack was almost rounding a bend that led out of the apartment when he remembered that he must have burnt Belle's letter.

"Fuck," He cussed. He used to think that the biggest problem anyone could have was being homeless and hungry, but now he realized money was not even everything. If you aren't homeless or hungry, you could still be facing some tough life issues that you can't talk about.

His mind drifted briefly back to when he lost some money to a poker bet, quite a big amount of money, but nonchalant as he was, he came home acting like all was well, and lying to Mario about not being paid at work.

Not that he didn't care about losing six thousand dollars, but he didn't like the idea of his only friend assuming him to be a total failure.

"Fuck me. I am not even a good influence to him." He chuckled wryly, and totally unapologetic about the whole thing.
