New School, Old Problems

I had my eyes shut, but I was still able to smell the sweet spicy scent of the white Plumeria that played with my senses, felt the softness of its petals on my fingertips. I had no idea where I was.

As I opened my eyes, the meadow filled with white Plumeria filled my view, I knew I was at the triangular basin that contained Lake Pergusa. Its pristine blue water reflected the clear sky, the tremors on the water's surface, and the blowing wind created a whooshing sound, that seemed like it was calling out to me, pulling me towards itself, enticing me to feel the cool blue water.

I gave in to the temptations, and I started walking towards the lake.

As I edged closer, my hands reached out to the locket hanging around my neck, as if acting on its own accord. That locket was the only connection that I have with my mother. The locket had started to feel warm on my skin, giving a tingling sensation wherever it touched.
