Jealous

Chapter 3

Alpha Kai

    My phone rings as I walk down the verandah, and I roll my eyes at the caller. It's Max, and I wonder why he's calling me.

    "What is it, Max?" I ask coldly as soon as I answer the call.

    "We have something important to discuss. Let's meet," His voice sounds through the phone.

    "I'm not in the villa now, Max. We'll talk later," I say to him and quickly end the call. 

    I make my way to my kids'room. It's weekend today, so I need to spend some time with them in my study. I take my time to teach them on weekends and do revision for them base on what they were taught in school. That's one of the things that make me the best father to them.

    Stepping into their room minutes later, I stop on my track and my heart freezes in my chest at the sight that welcomes me. Ariel is standing half-naked with just a white towel wrapping around her chest, revealing her sexy body. She had no idea I walked inside the room since she's busy searching for something in the closet. Wondering why she's like this in my kids' room? Well, she stays in their room, since it's what they want. I don't know how they suddenly grew so attached to her, but I'm glad that they finally find someone they can peacefully be around.

    I feel my wolf growl inside me as he struggles hard to stare at the beautiful creature through my eyes. 

    "Hmm... Hmm..." I finally clear my throat, announcing my presence, and she turns swiftly to face me, and getting a glimpse of her eyes, my heart misses a beat giving this tingling sensation I haven't had in a long time. This is getting odd, and I don't like that I'm feeling this way.

    "Al...alpha..." She stutters, holding her towel tightly to her chest like she's preventing it from falling off. She looks extremely nervous, and for some unknown reason, I feel sad that I'm making her feel this way.

    "For fuck's sake, when the hell do you start caring about someone this much?" My subconscious mind screams at me, and I gulp down nothing, turning my face away. I think I'm losing my mind right now, or maybe I've lost it totally, because what the hell is going on with me?

    "Where are my kids?" Pushing all my thoughts to the back of my mind, I ask her.

    "Uhm... They...they went out with lady Leila," She stutters nervously and bites her lip in a way that looks seductive, and I feel my wolf struggles to take control of me. This is getting out of hand.

    "See me in my study," I spill those words out before I can stop myself. What will I be discussing with her in my chamber later? Not that I have anything to say to her, anyway.

    "Yes, alpha," She replies to me.

    Staring at her for another five seconds, I finally turn and stride out of the room, heading to my study to get myself distracted from these horrible thoughts of mine. If you must know, I have never had anything intimate to do with a maid, because how the hell would I stoop so low to having sex with a maid when other women are ready to give it to me whenever I want it? But I don't know what Ariel is doing to me now, that I can't seem to get him off my head.

    Stepping into my study, I stop on my track when I find Max sitting there with his legs crossed on the desk as he reclines on the chair, while having all his attention on the book in his hand.

    "I have been waiting for you all day, and you finally showed up now," He says as soon as he feels my presence, dropping the book on the desk and turning to face me with a smirk dancing at the corner of his lips. What is he up to now?

    "I don't want to see you now, Max. You may leave," I say to him coldly, walking over to sit on my chair. Not that my coldness would affect him, anyway. Unlike every other people that are scared of me, and would shiver when I talk to them, Max is a stubborn man that finds it funny instead. It's annoying, but cute anyway. He's my best friend, after all.

    "What if I want to see you, sweetheart?" He winks at me, and I roll my eyes.

    "If you want to start practicing how to be gay, I think you are in the wrong place. You should check somewhere else because I don't know why you would be calling me sweetheart," I glare at him, and he chuckles softly.

    "If I'm to marry a man, I would always choose you, my love," He teases me, and I roll my eyes.

    "Go fuck yourself, Max..."

    "I prefer to get the pleasure from fucking you instead. You look super hot and sexy, so, why not?" He teases me, and I run my fingers through my hair.

    "When you're done, you'll let me know which way you would prefer to die. Whether you want me to stab you, or throw you into the ocean," I smirk at him.

    "Whatever! I came here for an important discussion, anyway... Alpha Dante... He is not ready to sign the contract until he sees you in person," He releases the bombshell to me, and I slowly clench my fist as I feel my heartbeat stop for seconds. My blood boils in rage and I tighten my fist more while glaring hard into space. How dare that bastard dare me. Does he want to die?

    "I think he's up to something," Max further says, and I glance at him. Even if he didn't tell me, I know that bastard is up to something. Dante is the alpha of the Blood Moon pack and the CEO of the Blood Moon empire. I'm currently working on a project which will need his support for it to be successful, and as my assistant, I sent Max to talk to him, and he dares ask to see me in person. What does he want?

    I feel my wolf growl within me in rage, and I bet my eyes are already bright yellow. My wolf and I are only used to giving orders, nobody has ever dared to order us, how dare that bastard?

    "Greetings, alpha," Ariel's voice suddenly sounds from outside, and I gulp down nothing.

    "Come in," The door opens after I usher her in, and she walks in elegantly, graced in a long gown that's more like a rag, but why the fuck do I still find it sexy?

    The rage I was feeling moments ago slowly fades away, replaced with excitement, and my wolf slowly crawls back in. 

    "Wow!" I watch as Max tilts his head to look at her with his mouth agape, probably shocked at her beauty.

    "What's your name, young lady?" I watch as Max suddenly stands up to his feet and turns to face her with a wide smile on his face.

    "Ariel," She replies to him, while staring down at her feet, and fondling with her fingers. She must be feeling uncomfortable.

    "Wow! What a beautiful name for a gorgeous lady. By the way, I'm beta Maximus Danielle, but you can call me Max," Anger surges through me as I watch Max introduce himself to her. For some reason unknown to me, I just feel like punching him hard in the face or maybe strangling him to death. 

    "Thank you, beta," Her voice sounds flirty and seductive to me, even if she just spoke normally just like the way she normally speaks. Am I getting jealous? Fuck! That can't be.

    "You must be Ruby and Nathan's maid, right?" Max asks as he places his hand on her shoulder, and that is all it takes to make me lose it. He just pushed me beyond the limit.

    "Get your hands off her, now!" I slam my hands on the desk and spring up to my feet before I can stop myself.

    They both flinch...
