Jillie
I sank into the hot water and allowed myself to relax. The bruises on my thighs were starting to fade, and the soreness between my legs finally disappeared after a few days. It was safe to say that Jarren hadn’t touched me intimately in that time and wouldn’t for a while. He felt terrible about what happened, and I couldn’t be too mad at him, but he scared the hell out of me when he reacted that way. There wasn’t really much I could say.
Jarren had been giving himself hell about it ever since. I could see the guilt in his eyes every time he looked at me or caught a glance at the fading bruises. Even after repeatedly telling him I was okay and that I wasn’t mad at him, he still wouldn’t let it go. He was suffocating me with affection.
Jarren We stayed at the restaurant for a little longer before leaving. The ride back to my house was silent, and I knew Sage was thinking. I just hoped she figured out whatever she needed to do in order to mend her relationship. It would take work on Rian’s part as well. I’d promised myself that I would stay out of it, but if they didn’t get it resolved, I would have Jarren ask Mason to talk to him. I leaned over and hugged Sage when we pulled up to my house. I wanted to let her know that I was here for her if she needed me, no matter what. Once I walked into the house, arms wrapped around my waist, I couldn’t see them because my back was to them from closing the door. I looked down at their hands and started to laugh.&l
JarrenI watched as Jillie left the room and went to follow her, but I was stopped when Mina stood up and shook her head at me. I knew I needed to stay here and finish this conversation, so I allowed her to go check on Jillie. I looked at the computer screen, and Kaileeh had a worried look on her face.“She’s fine,” I told her, trying to reassure her and myself.“So, who’s going?” Christen asked. “I think I’d be able to smuggle three of you in at the most.”“I’m going,” Xander stated without hesitation. Christen nodded before looking at me.I sighed. “I was hoping Garret would go,” I replied. “I know Jillie doesn’t want me t
JarrenI was putting the final touches on Jillie’s birthday dinner. We were celebrating, just the two of us tonight. She’d told me she didn’t want anything over the top, and I promised I wouldn’t, but we were having a small gathering of family and friends this weekend.I set the table and light a few candles before dimming the lights. I wanted this to be perfect. There’s been nothing but stress the past couple of weeks, and I wanted her to have a chance to sit down and relax.I could hear her moving around upstairs, and I knew she was getting antsy. I had forbidden her to come downstairs, and if I knew Ji
Jarren“Jarren, you promised,” Jillie stated as we pulled up to her parent’s house. There were more cars than I thought it would be, but I had prepared myself for much more. Maybe Teya did take what I said into consideration after all. I parked the car before getting out and heading around to Jillie’s side. I took her hand and led the way up to the door. We bypassed knocking and walked straight inside. There were voices coming from the kitchen as we made our way towards it.“Jillie!” Teya exclaimed, rushing to us. She all but knocked me out of the way to get to Jillie. Of course, everyone else in the room thought that was hilarious.&nbs
JillieI was utterly confused. Jarren was acting odd, and I had no idea what that was supposed to mean, but I knew how to find out. Turning, I began to head into the room but stopped only a few steps over the threshold. Air trapped itself in my lungs. Even with his back to me, I would know him anywhere.“Aaden,” I stated softly.“Happy birthday, baby girl.” He responded, turning to me.“What are you doing here?”He smiled slightly. “I haven’t missed a birthday you’ve had since Kindergarten.”“I thought you said-”“I know what I said,”he said, cutting me off. “Let’s just say that Jarren can be very persuasive when necessary.”He finished rubbing his jaw.I sat on the bed and just stared at him for a moment. I would have to
JillieI wasn’t sure how long I’d lay there crying when I felt the bed dip behind me. Jarren’s unique smell instantly surrounded me as his arm wrapped around my waist. He began to slowly rub my stomach as he whispered soothing words to me, and I wanted to die.“He’s gone,”I stated through my tears.“It’s alright, Piccolo. He’ll be back. As much as it kills me to say this, he loves you. He won’t be able to stay away.”I shook my head, disagreeing. “No, he’s really gone this time.”Jarren sighed and pulled me closer to him. I knew he might have thought I was crying over another man, but it was a culmination of everything. I was sure my hormones were giving me an extra boost, too. When I could pul
Jillie“It’s Halloween!” Mina yelled as she burst through my bedroom door. While I nearly had a heart attack, Jarren just rolled his eyes and tightened his arms around me. We had been lying down watching a movie before she so rudely burst in.“Don’t you knock?” I questioned. “How did you get in the house in the first place?”“I have a key, duh!”she exclaimed with a goofy grin.“Who gave you a key?”I questioned with a raised brow, preparing myself to strangle Jarren.
JillieEverything was decorated so authentically. I was speechless when we stepped into the house. It felt as if I’d stepped into a horror movie. I stopped to examine nearly everything that I saw. Occasionally, Jarren would pull on my hand, reminding me that we were still in the hallway. I allowed him to lead me into the living room where the party would be held. The kids were already there dancing to the music that was playing or engaging in one of the games that were spread about throughout the place. Glancing around the room, I saw that Jarren and I were the first to arrive out of the people I’d invited. It wasn’t long before one of them noticed our presenc
