68: More Bad News

           We stayed at the restaurant for a little longer before leaving. The ride back to my house was silent, and I knew Sage was thinking. I just hoped she figured out whatever she needed to do in order to mend her relationship. It would take work on Rian’s part as well. I’d promised myself that I would stay out of it, but if they didn’t get it resolved, I would have Jarren ask Mason to talk to him.

           I leaned over and hugged Sage when we pulled up to my house. I wanted to let her know that I was here for her if she needed me, no matter what.

           Once I walked into the house, arms wrapped around my waist, I couldn’t see them because my back was to them from closing the door. I looked down at their hands and started to laugh.
