When the door opened, I lazily looked up to see who entered. It was just Rachel, so I looked back at the pool table, where it was my turn to shoot the ball. I had already figured out which ball I was going to try to get in the pocket, so all I had to do was line up my shot.

Leaning over more, I steadied the hand that I was using to guide the stick. Bringing my eye level down, I took my aim. Just as I was about to hit the ball Lex let out a slow whistle, I once again glanced up.

What I saw shocked me, and I ended up jerking my hand that was holding the base of the stick. Rachel had stepped aside, and Izariah was standing in the doorway, looking gorgeous. If I had known she was capable of looking this good, I would have done things differently.

A single word raced through my mind on repeat, and I couldn’t ignore it. Mine. It wasn’t even my voice that I was hearing, it sounded more like a wolf, if wolves could talk. I wouldn’t even say the word had been spoken, it was more like
