Jayden threads a hand through his jet-black hair, swallowing a gulp down his throat. He doesn't know what to say, his lips remain glued together.

Jayden wishes those mean words hadn't come out of his mouth. He shouldn't have said that to her. Now, he has hurt her feelings.

Evelyn pulls away from her boss' desk, trying hard to control the tears which are threatening to fall from her honey-brown eyes."I am going to forward my resignation letter to you through email," She says.

Evelyn turns and she is beginning to walk towards the door. She is about to open the door when Jayden's strong arms grip her wrist.

She jerks away from him, facing him."W..What?" Her lips tremble badly, and she cannot speak adequately.
