Aria's POV

I stood on my front porch, watching Darius's taillights recede into the distance. My hands still shook from the fake mate bond that had failed, from hearing him call Elena as if I were a malfunctioning piece of equipment.

The living room lights was on. My heart sank. Of course , they'd waited up.

I opened the door and found all three of them. My mother, Lydia sat neatly on the sofa, my father Marcus in his reading chair, and my brother David was sprawled across the loveseat in his crazy superhero pajama pants.

I had been infuriated with their doting in my original timeline. Now, to find them all alive and whole—my mother's dark hair falling free of its familiar twist, my father's reading glasses perched on the bridge of his nose and David's careless grin, my eyes welled with unshed tears.

They were alive and safe.

At least temporarily.

My mother's Luna senses reacted immediately. Her eyes were etched with concern as she looked at me. "Sweetheart, you look like you've just s

  • REBIRTH OF THE BETRAYED LUNA    Playing The Part

Aria's POVI stood alone in the hotel corridor. Kael's pine and rain scent still clung to my skin and my heart raced from all that had just happened. The shared visions, his reluctance to trust me, and the way Storm had recognized me even when Kael resisted. But I can't afford to fall apart. Not yet.I pulled out my compact mirror with shaky hands. My reflection in the mirror showed my smudged mascara and my tear-stained cheeks. I worked quickly, cleaned the stain and reapplied powder over the redness. After seeing how perfect I looked in the mirror, I heaved a sigh of relief.I walked back into the ballroom and found Elena and Darius near the champagne fountain. They stood closely together, their heads bent in conversation. Elena sighted me coming over and her gaze sharpened with suspicion. I hurried forward, breathless. "I'm so sorry! I felt dizzy and needed fresh air. Must have been the wine ."Elena flashed me a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "We looked everywhere for you, Ari

  • REBIRTH OF THE BETRAYED LUNA    The Alpha's Gamble

Kael's POVI've lost my goddamn mind. That was the only explanation as to why I'm pressed against a woman I'd only just met ten minutes ago, shielding her as her so-called best friend searched for her. My body screamed at me to be rational, yet Storm was going totally feral in my head.*Mate. Protect mate. KILL anyone who threatens mate.*"Shut up," I growled under my breath. "Let me think."But thinking was impossible with Aria's body trembling against mine, her jasmine scent filling my lungs. Those visions I saw earlier burned into my mind—her pain, her terror, her grief for those children. The Children she claimed were mine.Elena's footsteps clicked closer. I stood frozen as her shadow passed our hiding spot. Then the magical scent hit me.It slammed into my senses like a fist to the gut. Wrong on so many levels that my wolf growled in disgust. The power swept through the air, leaving with it a residue that felt like rot and ancient darkness.Dark magic. Actual, unmistakable dark

  • REBIRTH OF THE BETRAYED LUNA    Five Minutes

Aria's POVFive minutes to convince him I wasn't insane.I stood before Kael Nightfang in the hotel corridor, my heart hammering against my chest. His amber eyes burned with fury and pain and the mate bond between us hummed beneath my skin, alive and begging, yearning to be sealed."Start talking," he growled. "You have five minutes."My throat tightened. How can I make him believe in something I could barely comprehend myself? I could lie, come up with something more reasonable. But if I couldn't be honest with my own partner, what hope did we have? So, I chose the truth."Four years from now, you and I have twin babies named Mira and Kai." The words came out faster than I intended. "The evening of their third day, my husband murdered me in a dungeon while trying to sacrifice our babies for a dark ritual."Kael's face twisted in revulsion. "Are you making fun of me? Is this some kind of sick—""I'm not!" Tears streamed down my face. "I know it's insane, but just listen. In my own tim

  • REBIRTH OF THE BETRAYED LUNA    The Unity Ball

The Grand Ballroom at the Continental Hotel glimmered like a fairytale with crystal chandeliers and marble columns draped in midnight blue silk. Two hundred of North America's most powerful supernatural creatures stood under the vaulted ceiling, their conversation a mix of politics and pack dynamics.I stood in the doorway in a silver dress that hugged every curve of my body. My hair had been brushed back perfectly so my grandmother's diamond necklace could be seen. To anyone who looked at me, I was the ideal Luna princess, innocent, spoilt and just waiting for Mr perfect.Inside, I'm a predator stalking my prey."Look there," Elena sighed, her perfectly manicured nails digging into my arm with barely contained excitement. "Darius Blackthorne. Isn't he handsome?"I allowed my gaze to wander after her's across the sea of dancing figures to where he stood with a group of pale blonde admirers. Tall, broad-shouldered with immaculately styled blonde hair, he was the very epitome of a stron

  • REBIRTH OF THE BETRAYED LUNA    Second Chances

I woke up struggling to breathe. My fingers darted up my throat, looking for silver sores but found none. Gentle cotton bandages wrapped around my legs was all that greeted me. Moonlight illuminated windows I was familiar with, shining through them into the bedroom I used to live as a teenager dreaming about finding my mate. The irony was bitter on my lips.My phone beeped on the nightstand, lighting up with a date that brought my heart to a standstill. Four years ago. The night before I was going to meet Darius Blackthorne for the first time at the Unity Ball."Holy shit," I whispered into the empty room, my voice rough like I've been screaming for hours. "She really did it. The moon goddess really brought me back."I sat up gradually, every muscle in my body trembling with leftover adrenaline. The burns from the silver chains still lingered on my wrists, yet when I looked down, my skin was unblemished. Whole and clean as if nothing happened. But it had happened. The lies, the betray
