The laboratory was a mess: The smell of chemicals and blood clung to the air, capable of suffocating breath.

Dave grabbed a mask and covered his face. Glasses shattered across the floor in shrapnel, blood slicked over the floor with spilled chemicals that were before sealed in vials. His workers were on the floor, some dead, some still alive groaning and bleeding on the floor littered floor.

Dave's chest hammered despite years of training in the military that'd sharpened his heart.
