Hayami saw the man she had been with the night before; now, sober, she could see in more detail. She looked at his black hair cut in a modern style, his light green eyes that were more visible in the light than in the darkness of a club or hotel room. The color of his eyes stood out against his fair complexion; his height of 6'11" was just as she remembered. Noah was dressed in a black business suit. Hayami approached the four who were still standing; he looked at her with surprise and disbelief.

"If you stare at me so much, you'll wear me out," Hayami said, laughing. This situation amused her greatly, seeing his attractive, yet confused face.

"Noah, this is my sister, Hayami," Isabel introduced.

"Nice to meet you." Isabel didn't mention she had a sister, though.

Noah replied, extending his hand as if it were the first time he had seen her.

"Clearly, I'm the unmentionable one in the family."

Hayami greeted Noah, who was still incredulous at the unusual situation.

"So you're my future "official" brother-in-law? I hope you're happy in your arranged marriage."

"HAYAMI..."

Her father raised his voice in an annoyed tone, reprimanding her.

"Oh, Dad! Why are you upset? Is it true, or am I lying?"

He turned his questioning gaze on his sister, who simply avoided him.

"Now I understand why they didn't mention you."

Noah replied, his gaze fixed on hers.

"Dinner is served. You may go to the dining room."

One of the staff announced, breaking the tense atmosphere of the conversation between Hayami and Noah.

"Thank you, let's go now."

Jasmine replied with a smile that reflected a bit of discomfort.

"Let's go to the dining room."

The woman finished speaking to those present. The four of them walked toward the dining room and sat down. Noah sat next to Isabel, across from Hayami. The waitresses served dinner to each of those present at the table.

"So tell me, brother-in-law, when is the wedding? Because I don't see an engagement ring on my little sister's finger?"

Hayami asked as she cut a piece of meat and brought it to her mouth.

"It'll be on June 17th, and as for the ring, of course she'll have one."

He replied seriously, looking at Hayami's red hair, which made her look very pretty.

"It's February 20th, which means it will be in four months... Sis, you still have time to back out."

"Well..."

Isabel managed to say before being interrupted.

"Do you have any problem with me marrying your sister?"

Noah interrupted Isabel.

"Me? No problem. If she's already decided, I'm no one to stop her. It's just that I don't believe in arranged marriages; they're a waste of time."

"Hayami! Don't interfere in your sister's business."

Jasmine scolded Hayami, something she didn't do often.

"Okay, I won't interfere."

Hayami sipped the red wine in front of her.

"You're definitely not someone who needs to be seriously introduced," Noah said mockingly. Hayami placed her wine glass on the table and was about to retort, but was interrupted by her younger sister.

"My sister lived in Canada for a few years and just returned to start a new job, though she hasn't mentioned which one; she's very private about her affairs."

Isabel tried to change the course of the conversation.

"Oh, so you work?"

He blurted out, as if it were believable.

"And what do you do?"

Hayami asked defiantly.

"Noah has just been promoted to the presidency of the family business."

Isabel replied, feeling like a mediator between the two; He even felt like he was in his favorite movie, "Shrek 2," when Shrek and the king were having a tense conversation at dinner. He smiled slightly, thinking that the only thing missing was the food flying through the air like in the movie.

"Oh, I mean... Your dad gave you his old position."

"It's one of the best tequila companies in the country, called "CURVOS."

Isabel replied, to which Hayami only smiled upon hearing the company's name.

"To me, he's still the guy his father gave him the position."

Noah's patience had run out because that girl was somewhat cheeky and disrespectful, which he clearly didn't like. He was thinking that even though he'd had one of the best nights, it wasn't enough to make that girl like him.

Hayami got up from the table before he could say a word.

"Excuse me, I'll go. Dinner was very nice and all, but I have plans for tonight."

She glanced at her sister.

"I did my part by attending dinner, but don't make me stay."

"Thank you, sister. Don't worry, I'll see you later."

"Where are you going? You went out yesterday, and will you do it again today?"

Jasmine asked before Hayami left the dining room.

"Mom, don't worry, yesterday wasn't a big deal."

She looked deeply at Noah; Isabel noticed that look and smiled slightly. She knew her sister and the hints she could throw.

"Enjoy your meal."

Hayami turned to Noah this time.

"Thank you."

He replied without even looking at her, an act that didn't matter to her.

Hayami left the dining room and went up to her room. In the dining room, a call from Noah's phone interrupted their ongoing conversation.

"Excuse me?"

"Sure, son, go ahead."

Jasmine replied smilingly. Noah walked to the front door and answered the call.

"Now what do you want? I'm at my fiancée's house."

"Oh, sorry, I forgot you mentioned it last night. I just wanted to know if you were going to the club tonight."

Carlos was the one calling, who waited for his friend's answer.

"No, not today. Besides, I have an important meeting tomorrow."

"Okay, understood, then see you another day."

"Yeah, okay, okay."

As he answered his friend's call, he saw Hayami get off, carrying her bag over one shoulder. Noah hung up the phone quickly to address Hayami before she left.

"I have something of yours."

"What something?"

She asked, curious. Noah reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the earring.

"I was already finding it strange that something so expensive was from a Stripe."

He said, handing her the earring.

"Believe it, if it was, it wouldn't have been enough to pay me for that night."

She replied, annoyed.

"Can you imagine what your sister would think?"

"What would she think if she found out her fiancé slept with her beloved sister? First, I'm sure she wouldn't care about the other one; neither of us knew, and the third wasn't that big a deal. Forget it, I did it the moment I left that room, and... Well, see you."

Hayami turned her back on Noah; he just thought she was annoying, but he just had to put up with her every time he visited Isabel.

"Do you like them?""Of course I do, love, they're beautiful!"The blonde girl responded excitedly, looking at the wedding rings."I know they're not very expensive, but...""That doesn't matter. The important thing is that we'll love each other forever."She hugged him, giving him a tender, innocent kiss..."Is anyone there?"She waved Noah's hand in front of Hayami, who looked lost while holding some rings."Of course I'm here. Can't you see me?"She replied, annoyed. In the last few days, after Ivan's arrival, her memories returned like weapons that didn't pierce her heart, but rather her pride, which made her feel stupid."How do you see these?"Noah asked, having no idea what was going through her mind."Yes, I think they're fine, they're very pretty... Hey, by the way, what did you do with the engagement ring you were going to give my sister?""I saved it, why? Do you want it? If so, I can give it to you."She pressed her septum with her fingers."You're immature, have they told

  • REBOUND LOVE...   EXPLANATIONS.

Hugo stood before Isabel's father, who looked at him very annoyed."Sir, I will marry your daughter.""I have no choice but to accept it."The imposing man replied, but he was looking at his eldest daughter.Isabel took Hugo's hand."Hayami told me it will be in a month, right?"Jazmín asked calmly."That's right, Mom."Isabel replied fearfully."And where will the wedding be?"The man sitting with his arms crossed asked again."If I may give my opinion... All the preparations for my wedding with your daughter were almost ready, so you can get married with all those arrangements, no problem."Noah, sitting next to Hayami, commented. Isabel had asked him to be at that meeting for Hugo, because she was afraid for her father."That's fine, since I won't put a single peso into that wedding."The girls' father said, getting up from his seat and leaving.Hayami smiled at the others' awkward expressions."Well, sister, we have to finish some wedding matters. Don't pay attention to Dad, he'll

  • REBOUND LOVE...   DESTINATION?

Noah got out of his car and sighed, knowing Isabel was waiting for him. When he knocked on the door, the employee opened it, leading him into the living room where Isabel was waiting."Hmm...""What do you mean, he's your friend?!"Isabel immediately questioned him without even letting him say hello. He touched his forehead as he looked down."He's an old college classmate; I didn't know he was your sister's ex.""The ex-idiot who made her look like a coward.""Well, whatever, you never told me his name."Noah approached her, taking a seat next to Isabel."I know, excuse me, I never thought in this big world you two would know each other.""How's your sister? I heard she left the company early.""Not just the company, but the house too."He sighed deeply."Knowing her, I know where she is or what she's doing.""Hey! I didn't know your sister was a natural redhead; I thought she dyed her hair, if her skin tone is lighter, but I thought it was because she only spends her time locked up

  • REBOUND LOVE...   ABSENT.

Hayami arrived home and, upon entering, quickly ran upstairs. Isabel, who was reading a book in the living room, watched her walk past quickly before hearing her bedroom door slam shut. Isabel left her book on the sofa and went up to Hayami's room. After knocking and getting no response, she opened the door, seeing her sister lying on the bed with her forearm covering her closed eyes, biting her lower lip."Did something happen at the office?"Hayami didn't answer."What happened, Hayami?"Isabel asked worriedly when Hayami didn't answer.Hayami took her hand from her face and looked at Isabel, who was standing in front of her."What's wrong? ... That life hates me, that simple, that my heart is a traitor for beating for someone who destroyed it without remorse, without consideration, that fate is playing tricks on me, first making me have something with Noah, and now this.""I don't understand.""Ivan arrived at the office today."Isabel's face grew more concerned when she learned wh

  • REBOUND LOVE...   WHO BROKE MY HEART.

Ariel told Noah that the taxi was waiting downstairs. Upon hearing this, he got up from his seat, grabbing Hayami's car keys, which he had left on his desk that morning, though she hadn't asked for them."Surely she doesn't remember, so she forgets everything."He said, a little annoyed, as he tucked the keys into his pants. Noah left the office and saw Ariel looking at him, indeed, with some compliment, but he just smiled at her before entering the elevator. As he went down and left the office, just as Ariel had told him, the taxi was waiting. As he got in, Noah gave the address of the place where he had picked up Hayami the night before. After a few minutes of driving, Noah arrived at Hayami's car. He got out of the taxi, paid for her ride, walked over to Hayami's car, and put the keys in. As he opened the car, he smelled her scent. Apparently, he liked the scent of perfume, but it was always a soft aroma, not at all overpowering. He sighed, got into the car, and, starting it, heade

  • REBOUND LOVE...   HANGOVER.

Hayami woke up feeling very lazy, and with a severe hangover, but she knew it was Monday and she had to go to the office, even though she had an important position and could skip it if she wanted. She didn't like missing work because of a night out. She got out of bed, took off the long blouse she'd slept in, and took a shower. When she got out, she dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt and a tight black skirt that fell below her knees. She put on black slippers, brushed her hair, leaving its waves loose, grabbed her sunglasses and purse, and left the room, trying not to make any noise. She didn't want to run into her sister, who would obviously attract her attention. As she left the house, she looked at the family chauffeur, approached him, and asked him to take her to the office, since her car had been left there the night before.Noah woke up with a slight headache; He wondered if it was because he'd interrupted his sleep or because he'd had to put up with a drunken Hayami. He cont
