CHAPTER 9.1

SCENT

THE MANSION LOOKS more sophisticated inside. From the chandeliers, elegant designs, and marble floors.

Nereza let go of my hand to find Alpha Lucien and Markus instructed me to wait on the balcony.

The night is beautiful and the sky is covered with dazzling stars. The night air is getting cold but I don't want to get inside without Markus and Nereza and also, I don't know anybody inside.

I rubbed my arms with my hands to warm myself a bit.

"Cold?"

I jumped to my feet when I heard Alpha Lucien's deep, cold voice from behind. His voice gives more chills in my body.

I never had the chance to face him because he was already trapping me between his arms. I swallowed the lump of my throat when I felt him press his body to mine. I can no longer feel the cold because of the warmth from his body.

I badly want to speak but I chose to keep my mouth silent. The silence between us is deafening but I don't feel uncomfortable.
